I grew up watching Warner Bros cartoons n enjoyed every minutes of it. To this day I still enjoyed watching reruns. They dont make cartoons like that anymore. Mel Blanc was a legend n may he RIP
I couldn’t agree more. Even though he died five years before I was born, I heard a lot of great things about him not to mention I watched Looney Tunes with my dad when I was a kid
Mel Blanc, through the characters of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck particularly, was the ultimate teacher of sarcasm and general "smart lines!" Let's hope that Political Correctness does not stifle and kill of completely, the cartoons he helped make so famous.
A great person who has been the man of 1,000 voices. In 1961 he almost died from a car accident with no ID on him. Doctors and nurses didn't know who's actually this unknown person was actually. Until they actually learn who he was actually by using certain cartoon characters voices and he responded to those cartoon characters.
Very fitting thing to have on his headstone. I couldn’t think of a better quote for his headstone than those iconic words. R.I.P. Mel Blanc, Man of a Thousand Voices (1908 - 1989)
Mel Blanc was the voice of Bugs Bunny Porky Pig Elmer Fudd Sylvester the Cat Tweety Bird Barney Rubble and many other classic Looney Tunes characters. He brought us many laughs. He truly was a legend
I used to watch Looney Tunes on TV, Saturday mornings. Now I watch the DVD collections. I'm still a big ol' kid at heart. And Bugs still stomps the mouse's ass! Mel was the best at his craft. We're still missing you!
Yep, this was when CNN was a good channel. It was sad that Mel Blanc passed away in 1989, as the Man of a Thousand Voices, he could have been very (x10) old, if his death in 1989 never happened as he will be the greatest voice actor of all-time and ever lived till their deaths.
Imagine how legendary animators that worked with him and were alive during that time, Chuck Jones and Friz Freleng must have felt when they heard of Mel’s passing. It must have been hard for them.
@@arthurpaivabarros6749 I know that. I’m just commenting on how him and Chuck Jones must have felt 32 years ago when they first heard Mel Blanc died considering they worked together on the classic Looney Tunes with Mel providing voices for both Freleng and Jones’ shorts.
I worked at his agency a year after he passed. The staff couldn't say enough good things about him. Here's a little known secret, the voice of Daffy is actually Sylvester speeded up by a 1/3. The only cartoon those two characters appeared in together was "The Scarlett Pumpernickel" , I later saw his contract for the "Jetsons " movie and he was paid $6,500 for his last appearance as Cosmo Spacely.
Paul Julian provided the 'beep, beep' of the Roadrunner, not Mel Blanc, although Mel DID do the voice of Wile E Coyote whenever he was paired with Bugs Bunny.
Ironically, Mel Blanc passed away on his successor Jeff Bergman's 29th birthday. Nowadays, Jeff, along with Billy West, Bob Bergen, Bill Farmer, Jim Cummings, Frank Welker, Dee Bradley Baker and others carry on Mel's work with the Looney Tunes!!!
Blanc did not die from complications from heart disease and emphysema, he died from a stroke which was caused by a broken femur from when he slid out of a hospital bed when a nurse forgot to put up the bed rails. This only occured 48 hours before he died.
Well you have to be born with that kind of talent but practice makes perfect but voice acting takes a whole lot of skill, training, and experience. But I do know that you definitely have to do a lot of Table Reading before the recording sessions with a bunch of other voice actors and voice actresses but one important thing to know about recording an episode of a cartoon that it's not been animated yet. But here's a secret they do the voice first and when the cartoon is done they draw it to the voice most people don't know that.
@@jonathanclary3992 that's unless you are dubbing then it gets a bit harder trying to keep it in sinc with the animation. But yeah you have to have to put feeling in when you voice or you end up sounding like you're reading a history book in class or worse
2 generations of Looney Tunes voice actors gone: first Mel Blanc, then Joe Alaskey. Well, at least we still have the stars of Animaniacs and the Simpsons (except for Mrs Krabapple, RIP Marcia Wallace).
It would've sounded better if Mel Blanc voiced Dinky in The Fox and the Hound (1981), Creeper in The Black Cauldron (1985), Winston in Oliver & Company (1988), Petrie in The Land Before Time (1988), the Seahorse Herald in The Little Mermaid (1989), and Killer in All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989)!
What can I say that others have not? God made this masterpiece of an Artist to make us laugh, smile, and enjoy life. Who hath not heard, "What's up, doc?"
His credits would take an hour just to read. By 1989 most people had forgotten about Jack Benny. Mel was always more famous for his cartoon voices than anything else though I always did like his Prof. La Blanc. When you've only a minute to tell a story, you have no choice but to leave out a few details.
Unfortunately, Mel Blanc was a longtime smoker to the point where he did his one-pack a day habit from when he was 9 to 77 years of age. As a result, he died on 10 July, 1989 due to complications from emphysema and heart disease aged 81.
Died of heart disease? I read his bedrails we're not put up and he fell out of bed and that's what killed him. Can't believe anything anyone says anymore.
It's been 30 years since he died and we still miss you Mel! You left us speechless when you passed away!
He was - and still is - the best in the business. Rest in peace... Doc.

You can say that again! What an unbelievable talent if you really research all he did! (And better than anyone else!)❤😊😅
Mel Blanc never failed to put a smile on our faces.
I couldn’t agree more.

Happy 107 birthday to Mel Blanc. Rest in peace 🐰
& today, July 27, 2015 is Bugs Bunny's 75th
Mel Blanc will ALWAYS be king of the voice actors.
his daffy duck, bugs bunny, etc, are the best. not only are cartoons not as good but the voices aren't neither
Mel Blanc still lives on. They have even used recordings of his voices in films like Looney Tunes: Back in Action and The Flintstones.
He was.....i say. he was............. the best ever.
You’ve eh-guh-GEH-uh-g-GEH-eh got that right! Eheheheh
Beyond brilliant!!! My all-time favorite cartoon characters.
He brought laughter to millons of children around the world and adults too thank you mel xx
RIP Mel Blanc (1908-1989) (The Man Of A Thousand Voices)
If he lived into his 90s and still did there voices, he could have voiced them in Space Jam
Rip to a Legend there won't be another Mel Blanc

On his headstone reads: "That's All Folks". True fact. NB
I heard or read that as well. He will never be completely replaced, even by his own son. They'll just never be another Mel Blanc, like a clone. Never.
😂😂😥
I create voices. He sure did.

What an appropriate name Mel Blanc. The voice that brought life to cartoon characters that would otherwise be Blanc. RIP Mel 🙏

He did the voice for the Healthcliff cartoon from the 80s, too. Always busy.

All very talented voice actors. Some even also work for Disney! But I do actually fail to see the irony in this comment...
Jeff Bergman took over as Bugs Bunny, after Mel's passing!!!
Noel his son did take over.
Did you know that Mel Blanc used to be the voice actor of Mario in Super Mario 64 Beta?
Then Charles Martinez came for the final version.
I don't think so since Mel Blanc died in 1989
He wasn't the voice actor. They used samples of his earlier work.
Road Runner? Didn't Paul Julian do his voice and not Mel Blanc! XD
Yeah, okay. And may they R.I.P. :P
Mel Blanc did Road Runner’s voice once on some records
Even though I wouldn't be born over a decade after his death, it still saddens me.
