I visited Mel Blanc’s tombstone... it says
“That’s all folks”
Mel blanc
Man of 1,000 voices
Loving husband and father
1908-1989
I cried- it’s so sweet
:(
Where
1 milion voices mel blanc did wow thats qt lot.
"That's all follks! (For me.)" - Mel Blanc
@@maurycyoseka1057 I loved his accents!!
Now I can't stop thinking about how many times Mel Blanc has just been talking to himself in Loony Tunes
Lol I never thought about that but yeah he is talking to himself in so many different voices
For the most part. Arthur Q Bryan was Elmer and then you had Bea Benaderet and June Foray for the female roles and Daws Butler, Stan Freberg, Billy Bletcher, and countless other VAs for any male roles Blanc couldn't do.
The 1st 15 or 20 seconds of this clip is fuckin hilarious. Holy. FUCK. What a jenous. He is the fuckin balls. Hes as good as ritch LITTLE. Or dana garvey. Wow wow wow. O 💘 love these talented bastards. Holy SHIT. Nightfencer gatekeeper. They make the world go on this shit keeps me from losing MIND. Wow
@@ericirwin413
My girl telks m e. That a sighn of BEING. Mental. Or off the edge. I tell HER. No its not. Its setting somthing in your MIND. That your going to do. And do RIGHT. Its a mental schedule. That hopefully you REMEMBER. Like. LOVING HER. Shes hard to talk to SOMETIMES
A clever genius, that's for sure.
Once he died the autopsy showed his vocal chords were much thicker than the average man's
That explains his ability to create these different voices a lot more
Not quite true. He was seen by a specialist who looked down his throat and said that his vocal cords were very thick and strong. The doctor said that his vocal cords could rival opera singer Enrico Caruso. Blanc was very much alive at the time they found this out.
@Cara D This was great. Thank You Cara 😄
@Cara D well, even with the knowledge of this fact I ain't trading a thick D for thick cords. And I'm convinced wouldn't for your man 😂
@@kingphil4073 why hit top E when you can hit middle G
Not surprising
I love how Mel Blanc does Bugs Bunny, the Irish cop, and Bugs Bunny impersonating the cop. It's amazing
It’s amazing he could do Daffy imitating Bugs .Meanwhile the Simpsons voice actors who are just as talented couldn’t do it
@@nightisright1873 I think Seth MacFarlane does a great job of imitating characters as a different character.
@@nightisright1873 it's one if not the hardest skill to pull off having a character imitate another character. That's why his performance in the hunting trilogy is so legendary.
Should've ended with Porky going "That's all folks!"
th-cam.com/video/gBzJGckMYO4/w-d-xo.html
That’s what’s on his grave stone.....as he wished for it to be.
Robert Lopresti thanks 🙏 LOL 😂
How appropriate that would have been!
He pretty much helped create Looney Tunes. Without him doing his research and studying with different sounds it wouldn’t have been so great.
PineappleSplash Mel Blanc and June Foray were the original voices of Looney Tunes. I did not know he voiced Barney Rubble
@@nathanielfox3503 Bernice Hansen, Bea Benadaret and Sara Berner preceeded June Foray. Just saying.
No love for Arthur Q. Bryant?
Or Stan Freberg?
@@papachillothezappey4050 Or Joe Dougherty. Look at his imdb and Wikipedia pages! Scant! When he was fired for something he couldn't control (his stutter), he spent the rest of his life in obscurity, while Mel Blanc shined in fame and fortune. My mother once said that you always hear of the success stories, and not the failure stories. Here's one of them.
To call Mel Blanc the man of 1,000 voices is an understatement. I would call him the man of 1,000,000 voices.
The Movie Universe Ditto. Especially considering he's 904 credits on IMDB.
Him and Frank Welker
Don't forget he did voice bulldog from gay purr-ee?😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
June Foray.
@@devontamosley4487 Yep she is the woman of 1,000,000 voices!
Sylvester was actually one of the easiest voices for Blanc to provide, since it was very close to his normal speaking voice.
I can see that!
Yosemite Sam was the hardest voice
I think the voice he had most trouble with was Bugs. He was allergic to carrots!
@@abdulwahab3604 By the time of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mel Blanc was only able to do Yosemite Sam's scream of pain. The rest was the late Joe Alaskey.
(Doing the voice of the Tasmanian Devil also strained Mel Blanc's vocal cords. So did doing the "Captain CAAAAAAVEMAAAAAAAAN!" yell.)
In that case, it also must've been easy to voice Daffy, since he used the same voice for both characters but Daffy's voice was just sped up during post-production.
Blanc has a resume probably longer than most people even realize.
His resume’s probably longer than that of some film casts/crews combined.
@@SpaceCase132 he was also with The late voice acting veteran Alan Reed(Fred Flintstone) speaking of which; Mel was nearly every male Flintstones characters too, which i never realized until watching this.
Mel Blanc definitely has a resume that was longer than I realized. I had never heard of some of the shows that he took part in.
Got to keep the resumes short. [grin]
Blanc was Frank Welker's Mentor!
So looney tunes is basically a person talking to himself
PRETTY MUCH!
Basically 6:42
a good one at that lol he was a gemini(lol) jack of all trades, the actor, and the artist lol.. joking doesnt mean anything
mostly there actually is one other male voice actor back then, elmer fudd was not originally done by Mel Blanc
Did he get paid per hour or per voice?
Bugs: Is there a doctor in the house?
Audience: I'm a doctor.
Bugs: Eh... What's up, doc?
Me: 😆
SunWukong1984 THE best Looney Tunes EVER! I STILL laugh at that one...FIFTY years later!!! "Bobby pin."
Lol
Mel Blanc was a true legend (He was 99% of Looney Tunes characters😍)and he was Daffy Duck since 1937 until 1988.
No one can surpass the great Mel Blanc
Frank Welker deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as him do
Thurl Ravenscroft as well
Tara strong is the next legend
They are all great, but remember that Mel was the first. Nobody blazed the trail for him. And he paved the way for everyone else. And still the all around greatest talent. 🤩😍
@@jeanpreston8009 Without Mel Blanc, other voice actors (i.e. Frank Welker, Rob Paulsen or Jim Cummings) wouldn’t be who they are today!
Funny thing to realize most of the Looney Tunes are basically Mel Blanc talking to himself, since he did most of the characters, both reoccurring and one off.
Mel Blanc the best! Hands down! R.I.P. to a Legend!
Or Hats off and pause for a moment of silence. His Legacy Will live on in our Hearts for all Eternity.
eeh, whats up doc?
Frank Welker is right up there with him as well
RIP
This marks the 30th anniversary of Mel Blanc's passing and he's still one of the lengendary cartoon voice next to Frank Walker and Rob Paulsen. Had a chance for meeting Gérard Surugue as Bugs Bunny's French voice recently and he's so hilarious!
11:44 the man always kills it with the foghorn leghorn delivery 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That character was a blatant copy of a previous radio character named Senator Claghorn. After WB copyrighted Foghorn, the original Senator Claghorn couldn't do his character anymore.
Wow! I didn't realize that he voiced Barney and Dino from The Flintstones, Alice's cat from Alice in Wonderland, Heathcliff... Boy oh boy, he voices a whole lot of characters for so many years.
SunWukong1984 I searched up the Alice in wonderland cat and it was voiced by Clarence Nash
@@oldwarriorproductions8411 on the Alice in Wonderland Wikipedia said that Mel Blanc did her but the Disney Wikipedia says that Clarence Nash did her
Decades, actually.
Mel filled allot of Blanc's in me childhood. God rest his soul!
Sparky Drawer Que?
*a lot
Mel Blanc is a legend in the voice over industry! I really love his performance in so many cartoons especially in Looney Tunes!! Also I never knew he got to play a few characters in some Disney stuff.
He was also supposed to voice Dopey in Disney's Snow White, but Walt decided to make him a mute instead.
Saturday Morning Rewind really, that’s a very interesting fact!
but a little bit of sound effects and a bit of screaming.
Saturday Morning Rewind Actually, it was Gideon the Cat who was originally supposed to speak, then Walt's staff made Gideon a mute save Mel's hiccups in Pinocchio. Not Dopey from Snow White.
That's what got me. I never knew that he did anything with Disney and I nearly knew the vast majority of his catalog.
He’s truly a Man with a Thousand Voices.
Yes and a Man of Talent!
Mel Blanc (1908-1989)
CAPTAIN C-A-A-VEMA-A-A-N! No one can do that like Mel did.
What about jim cummings
@@mekaboo318 Jim was good but Mel was better.
...And son ;P
Captain Caveman and Son was the first time I saw Captain Caveman.
Doing that yell was one of the things that strained Mel Blanc's vocal cords. (So did doing the voices of Yosemite Sam and the Tasmanian Devil.) So apparently he recorded that yell a single time and they kept reusing that same recording over and over.
And it ended up having a life outside of Hanna-Barbera:
th-cam.com/video/5AlTUklejao/w-d-xo.html
“What’s up, Doc?” R.I.P. Mel Blanc.
Rest In Peace
Mel Banc
Stand Lee

Three best creators of our favourite cartoons characters
God rest there souls
🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭
Also RIP,
Eddsworld
William Hanna
Gene Deitch
Sriram Mohan thank you 👍
I can't imagine the crowd at a high school talent show! 😳😲
After he died in 1989, he made his last movie as the voice of mr. Spacely from
Jetsons the movie (1990), along with
The Flintstones 2 live-action films, Looney Tunes back in Action (2003),
& Looney Tunes the video game (1999).
But they did use some archive recordings, i.e. for Back In Action they used Mel's classic "Car Sounds" to voice The Gremlin Car
And on radio, he was the voice of Jack Benny's Maxwell.
The video game is called Bugs Bunny lost in time, where they used archived recordings for Yosemite sam
There's a version of Mario 64 (I think) where they used Mel's archived hollers and yells for mario, which I'm assuming was before charles mantinet did his voice officially
Mel Blanc will always be a true legend
He did just about every voice in the Looney Tunes except Grandma.
He didn’t do Elmer Fudd either.
@@fredarok579 He voiced him during the 70s and 80s. His original actor Arthur Q Bryan died in 1959 of a heart attack.
And the Looney Tunes made before 1937 had different VAs too. Joe Dougherty was the original voice of Porky Pig (and had a real stutter that made it difficult to control when he recorded lines). Sara Berner did the female roles (and maybe some male ones).
He didn’t do Road Runner either. That was Paul Julian. Blanc did do Granny and Road Runner on records though.
After he died Warner Bros tried to cast a different actor for every character because they didn't want to be reliant on one voice actor again. Today about 3 different voice actors voice most of the Looney Tunes characters.
Even when he’s talking normal, I can hear Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, Sylvester, and Tweety Bird at the same time. That’s fucking crazy.
danwashere Yeah, it is.
I knew Mel Blanc did a lot of Looney Toons, but I didn't think it would be a "This episode has 18 characters and one actor" kind deal.
Before tv was invented, he was a radio actor and was often a guest star on The Jack Benny show and he even had his own show for a while. He also provided the voice of Bob and Doug Mackenzie's father in the Canadian made "Strange Brew" starring Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis!
I always love the story of how Mel tried every conceivable food other than carrots to get Bugs’ crunching because he *HATED* carrots. In the end, nothing else could do it. So for every “What’s up doc,” Mel would chew the carrot, say the line, they’d pause the tape, spit out the carrot, then continue the recording
Rest In Peace
Mel Blanc

There's a little bit of Mel in all voice actors. :)
The man of a 1000 voices indeed
Mel is a legend, a God among voice actors. Mel's work is the gold standard for voice acting.
4:04- Dinah? He voiced Dinah from Alice in Wonderland?! I knew he did Gideon from Pinocchio, but Dinah is a genuine shocker.
11:45 my favorite scene glad to learn about Mel Blanc.
Had no idea he did Marvin. I've been doing a Marvin impression my whole life and didn't know the voice actor was the same guy as all the other characters.
Mel Blanc is the most hilarious actor ever
Never knew he also voiced Woody Woodpecker at one point
I remember as a kid, I would look at the beginning credits and for whatever reason I ALWAYS check the Voice Characterazation and this man was ALWAYS one of the names there, if not the ONLY name there. I never forgot his name. I have my own family and kids and trust my kids will remember too. Thank you Mr. Blanc for my childhood.
Hard to believe that Mel died 30 years ago this year. I remember when he passed as I was about 12 at the time. Very sad.....especially as a fall out of a hospital bed was what took his life in the end. But being a chain smoker for about 40 years didn’t help either.
Crazy his voice was still there, with all that smoking. Rip to a legend.
I love his voice so much it's also very gut bustingly funny when he raises his voice so loud 😂😂😁😁
And he has the most hilarious laugh too!
He is missed but his legacy lives on. As long as we have ALL or ANY of these cartoons on dvd OR syndication...Mel will live on. Such a great talent and personality!
LEGENDS NEVER DIE
Mel Blanc is like the Charlie Chaplin of animation who inspired each generation of actors. I will forever cherish his work in every project he’s done. I wish I could have met him as well. He seemed like such a nice guy.
This man voiced my childhood. My lord what talent. He's probably why I love doing impressions and making up my own voices so much. God rest your soul, Mel Blanc.
A true voice acting legend, he's one of my top favorite classic cartoon voice actors after Don Messick.
Me, an intellectual : Bruh that must be hard for Bugs Bunny's voice to live with this voice.
Mel Blanc : *talking in real life with a deep voice*
Mel was an icon the best voice actor of all time.
Mel Blanc is one of my inspirations to become a voice actor😁😄
I hope we work on a project together
This man is my personal hero.
To think he was with me the whole time I watched these. Mel Blanc, you will be missed.
Prior to watching this video, I watched one on Robin Williams. ... can you imagine these two in a recording booth? Two legendary voice actors having a "shootout"... man oh man!
Mel Blanc is the big reason why I want to be a voice actor. I wanted to bring people joy by doing some silly cartoon voices.
This man was the voice of my childhood enjoyment. I remember remembering myself remember watching cartoons at 3 years old and Looney Tunes were my entire day during the '90s
Many can replicate him but there will never be another Mel Blanc
Looney Tunes, Disney, Hanna-Barbera...Mel Blanc did it all. Truly the Man of a Thousand Voices.
Modern Day Mel Blanc would be Frank Welker, Jim Cummings deserves to be mentioned as well
@@nobodysperfect06 Mel Blanc even did some MGM Cartoons from 1939-1942
He seemed to voice literally every main character of Looney Tunes
This man played so many characters!
Whoa! Mel Blanc The Man of a Thousand Voices? No Way! Thanks! I personally thought about asking you to make that video after you upload that future Kath Soucie Voice Rolls video. And Current Voice actors have been taught by the one and only legend. I recommend Watching a mel blanc documentary.
Justin Gamino Yeah, I’ve been working on this one for a little while now. I think I’ll start on the Kath video tonight. I hope to have it out in a few weeks. It’ll be a fun one to make.
Thanks. (i hope tillie is in it)
Justin Gamino me, too. She's my favorite role.
Jonny Boy yup, I hope we show this old movie to young future generations to come.
Justin Gamino I feel the same way.
RESPECT 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏right in childhood..
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 30 years since he’s passed.
yes, now they are 33 years old
Next year in 2023 will be 34 years since Mel Blanc been gone of a Legend I have a lot of respect for & always will even till this very day
My whole childhood wrapped up in one man!
They say, " It's not the vocal ability but his ear for music", allowing him to repeat something, just the way he heard it.. A SALUTE to two of the greatest "EARS", in history.... R.I.P. :o(
Mel Blanc is hands-down the best voice actor when it comes to cartoons
That dude is a Legend!
Rest in powerful peace 🙏

Mel Blanc was a natural talent in many voices, RIP you were and still are a man of 1,000 voices. Don Messick and Daws Butler were also Saturday morning cartoon voices. I seen a library 📀 DVD the life of Mel Blanc I didn't know that Mel Blanc was almost killed in an auto accident. Doctors and nurses didn't know at the time who was this unknown patient who had no ID on him. He was almost in a coma but can communicate with them by 💬 speech. Until one medical professional said that he's the one and only Mel Blanc. They would say to him Bugs Bunny and he replied Hey what's up Doc. Porky pig he replied stuttering That's all folks and other cartoon voices. He was gifted to have many types of voices you don't see that anymore. 💔😊😀☺😁😂😃😄
I believe it is stated in the book THATS NOT ALL FOLKS, Mrl was actually comatose.
A new ontern was assigned to Mel's ward, keeping not we the vitals.
On one particular day, thr intern jokingly mentioned "how's it going today, Bugs?"
Well, Bugs answered, and the staff slowly worked through various characters to access Mel,
I just realized that Blanc's Barney voice sounds like Rodney Dangerfield.
There will never be another Mel Blanc/R.I.P. Mel.
Watching all theses just makes me want to build a time machine only to used theses actors for modern cartoon and shows
9:02 I don't care what anyone says; these cartoons are works of genius.
Mel Blank- the voice of imagination and the og cartoon comfort characters.
This man was… everything. We lost one amazing human when he passed on.
The thing about Blanc is that, even though he does all of these unique voices, you can still hear his voice underneath it all
Rest in peace TO THE VOCAL LEGEND
This guy was a legend he was a great voice actor
He was so talented
One of if not the greatest voice actor who ever lived
Mel, you gave us a world of laughter with all your voices like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Barney Rubble, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam, Pepe Le Pew, Foghorn Loghorn, Porky Pig, Tweety, Secret Squirrel, Woody Woodpecker, And more of your voices. Rest In Peace to the " Man with a 1,000 voices", Mel Blanc (1908 - 1989). We will never forget you, you will always be in our minds and our hearts. R.I.P. to great Mel Blanc and the other greats..Don Messick, Daws Butler, Paul Frees, Paul Winchell, Lennie Weinrib, June Foray, Janet Waldo. You made my childhood great 😆
Mel would be proud of Bob Bergen today. He is great as the new Looney Tunes voice lineup.
Mel Blanc has done it all throughout his career.
The Chuck Norris of voices! RIP Mel, you made many of us happy with all of your characters.
Being able to do voices is such an underrated talent in my opinion. Also my opinion the best voice actors are Mel Blanc Eddie Murphy Robin Williams Seth MacFarlane just to name a few there's plenty more that are very good at it as well. I consider myself a pretty good voice changer myself but those guys are my Inspirations To do voices that's why I mentioned those guys. Being able to change your voice doesn't get enough credit as being able to sing for example.

Mel Blanc was Dino too???

Mel Blanc: Hold my carrot!
Still the king of cartoon voices!
