We bought a Victorian renovation house last year. It’s so fun and at times very stressful, but all worth it.
I’d 100% recommend cosy carpet upstairs. We sanded the floors first and I quickly realised wooden floors are not the cosy vibe upstairs!

Those original floors are a gem! If you can restore them, I think they'd be gorgeous!
In regards to skirting boards you can actually find a master carpenter to match those moulding up as they are originals. Sorry I know it’s a boring post but I’m married to a builder / carpenter 😂

How wonderful! I love old Victorian homes. You will have so much fun decorating and Fingers crossed you will be in for the New Year. Words of wisdom from renovating...it always takes longer than they say, you will always find more things that need fixed when you start to remove things, and things may get worse before they get better😬however in the end, it will all be worth it, it will be something you created and a true labor of love. This is the true test...if you two can live through a renovation you can live through anything😂 enjoy your beautiful new adventure and I can't wait to experience this new beginning with you!

Don't chuck out all the cupboards x shelves in the cellar. You may regret it. If it's going to be a utility room you will be needing them and could just paint them, saving a fortune! 😁

LOVE the house and its features! I would suggest reconsidering using the basement as a utility room if you don't want to carry heavy baskets of clothes up 2 floors ;)

It is going to be so lovely there, it has great bones, loving the ceiling heights in particular - congratulations!
Definately restore and keep original features to keep character. I would leave in the original little cupboard in the back bedroom. Strip back varnish and wax all the wood. Rugs everywhere !. The house will look stunning
Just subscribed and so excited to see your lovely home as all your ideas come together. Please keep floorboards if you can, if a bed is going in etc you won't use most of the floor, buy a large rug for a bit of cosy! That way if you get bored of the colour you can change it. I used to live in a victorian house and loved it!! Can't wait to see the next vlog

Congrats, it's a beautiful looking house! In your renovation vids please can you confirm which tradesmen you use and if you recommend them? We want open plan and we're south Manchester so would be great to get recommendations :)
As for the flooring find TH-camr Laura Mellish-Sprague as her and her husband are renovating a beautiful huge house and they did lots of work on flooring and you might get some hints.
