  • In this episode, we'll examine the relationship between deliverance and discipleship in the Christian walk. We'll explore the contrast between the instantaneous nature of deliverance and the gradual journey of sanctification. How do these two aspects intertwine? Can an over-focus on one hinder the other? Also, we'll ask what does an ideal vision for integration between the two look like? How can churches maximize both for greater Christian development?
    Join us to uncover the delicate balance between deliverance and discipleship, better understanding the crucial role of both in our spiritual growth and development.

    Really thankful for these guys and their willingness to be faithful to what the Scriptures teach us. Namely, that there are in fact demons and that they do in fact harass people and that the Scriptures teach us that those who believe the good news of Jesus Christ will be given authority to cast these demons out. (Mark 16:15-18) I can't find a single solitary Christian that has ever acknowledged this reality with more than lip service. Nothing is ever a demon, there's always a rational explanation for literally anything and everything. The materialist worldview and the spirit of rationalism has a stranglehold on the church. They just refuse to acknowledge the supernatural reality of the cosmos as Scripture has plainly laid it out.

      @lorelleturnbull8001 I've never done one, but from what I have heard, and listening to the explanation of the practices, it seems as if it would actually open a person up to demonization rather than helping one get free from it. But, that was just the sense that I got when I looked into it.

  • @BobbyU808
    @BobbyU808 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    what many theologians say but do not believe is that the most “extraordinary” means of grace (if such a thing exists) is that which results in the new birth. _see_ the miracle at cana. on an even more fundamental level, do the scriptures even differentiate between “ordinary” and “extraordinary” means of grace or are these merely man-made words which serve only to confuse the flock? instead of teaching and juxtaposing the doctrines of justification and sanctification, they go down esoteric rabbit holes like “deliverance” and the “casting out of demons.” these rabbit holes have become new industries in the economy of the body of christ, and some are investing heavily in them because they see them as growth industries.
    do christians have scars on their hearts which god wants to heal? are some christians bound by evil spirits? yes and yes, but if the “old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new,” how is it that not all old things have passed away, and behold, not all things have become new? if a man brings old things into the kingdom, or looks back at egypt and opens himself up to temptation and sin and therefore bondage, or has never understood that “god has made this jesus both lord _and_ christ,” god will reveal it to that man if that man is born again and seeks first the kingdom of god. does god use others to help that man see what is spiritually ailing him? yes, of course. by laying hands on that man and “delivering” him from evil spirits which have bound him? or by “rooting out” things which have taken root in his heart? or by helping that man see the errors of his ways and his need for repentance towards god so that god might heal that man through the sanctifying work of the holy spirit? or are all these things different expressions of the one thing?
    the reason why terms like “revival,” “deliverance,” “casting out demons,” “signs” and “wonders” are thrown around like candy in the body of christ is that we do not see the hand of god moving in our midst. and the reason why we do not see it is not god’s fault but ours, that is, we do not see god’s hand at work because of our unbelief and disobedience. what unbelief and disobedience you ask? do not ask man but ask god. _“seek and you shall find. ask and it shall be given to you.”_
    the word of god is so rich and so deep and so full of unspeakable wonder and beauty that it could have only come from god. but we have chosen to focus on certain parts while downplaying the one thing which is needed, the good part which shall not be taken away from us. _see_ martha and mary.
    “so he got into a boat, crossed over, and came to his own city. then behold, they brought to him a paralytic lying on a bed. when jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” and at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “this man blasphemes!” but jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “why do you think evil in your hearts? for which is easier, to say, ‘your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘arise and walk’? *_but that you may know that the son of man has power on earth to forgive sins”_* - then he said to the paralytic, “arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” and he arose and departed to his house. now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified god, who had given such power to men.”

    Modern medicine many times would not count as common grace here in the US given that many medical treatments are harmful and lead to iatrogenesis (harm cause by properly prescribed treatment) and also many folks are bankrupted by medical treatment. I have seen folks die or end up worse because they did exactly what a physician told them to do. And definitely with inflated bills that one would not see in many other Western countries.

    Regarding This “story“ from John and Carol Wimber, it seems very foolish to make an assertion that this is somehow a biblical template for how we go about dealing with sin/demonic oppression/physical elements.

    • @paulfick5440
      @paulfick5440 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I’ve been through Bob’s school because I was in a prayer ministry session when there was a physical manifestation. I handled it, but knew I needed more training. (I’ve been in the “waste management business” over 20 years, but it was a quiet deliverance model.) You need to know when and how the unclean spirit got there. The “legal right”. Sometimes the person knows (like had an abortion), the HS can tell you, or you command the unclean spirit to say. I only minister to Christians, and 90% of unclean spirits I’ve dealt with come from abuse, rejection, curses, or generational sins.

    Two questions -
    1. You said you can deal with the demonic because of the authority believers have in Christ. How do you explain when Jesus' disciples were unable to deal with the demonic, on at least one occasion ( probably more)? I would imagine they had Jesus' authority at the time.
    2. Josh referred to a number of examples in Jesus' ministry where he dealt with the demonic. But in just about all of those cases, if not all, the people concerned seemed to be behaving rather oddly, eg living in a graveyard, or running around violently etc. From the examples you have described in your own ministries, that often doesnt seem to be the case. People are pretty ordinary. Isnt that one reason why some Christians today doubt this is really the demonic you are dealing with in such cases, given the contrast with Jesus' apparent experience as described in the Gospels?

    • @buhrochem
      @buhrochem 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Records of Jesus' ministry highlighted the standout cases. Remember, he healed many that were diseased and cast out many spirits. The norm cases of healing and deliverance didn't get individual mention.

    • @PC-vg8vn
      @PC-vg8vn 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@buhrochem isnt that an argument from silence? And based on the presumption that the incidents mentioned in the Gospels were 'standout' cases rather than typical. I find that a weak argument. Logically then the sort of physical healings recorded were also not typical.

    Concerning 48:30 starving demons out, we know the OT Temples became us at Pentecost because of Calvary. Therefore the OT Temples lined on the inside with holy angels / cherubim embroidery in us manifests as angels hovering around us to tempt us to do good because they recognize HolySpirit activity going on in our life. This in turn makes demons uncomfortable around us. Just a thought, but here are the verses:
    2Ch 3:14 And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon.
    Exo 26:1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.
    Exo 26:31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:
    Exo 36:8 And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them.
    Exo 36:35 And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of cunning work.

The Holy Spirit said even though that is so, the unsaved even though hearing from the Holy Spirit they will not go in the rapture because they are not saved. The old thumbnails were great!(and sometimes even a little funny) whereas the AI thumbnails have an off "fakey" feeling. I also just hate to see creative arenas being taken over by AI and stealing the beauty and originality of what a person can actually create (AI does not create it merely spits out enumerated amalgamations of what you feed it).
