Discover how Platt urges disillusioned believers to pursue a different future-one rooted in biblical truth and unity rather than worldly division. Gain insights on working for each other, fostering racial reconciliation, trusting God's Word wholeheartedly, and spreading the gospel to all nations.

      Galatians 6:1
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
      Matthew 7:1-5
"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, "Let me remove the speck from your eye"; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

I’m just so troubled by this interview with David Platt. He just won’t respond to the tough questions without deflecting to something everyone agrees upon. At his core it is evident he still espouses CRT, did not address the elder scandal or lawsuit, and just generally talked about lot without saying much. I’m really troubled by his back-handed self promotion while avoiding directly speaking to the embracement of these woke ideologies.

@@mebsteve47I wonder if you are mistaken as there is a very wealthy David Platt who is the CEO of a major Corporation so easy to pick up the wrong figure. It would be equally disappointing if those figures are true and not just unsupported gossip (or mistakes) about both men as people should not get that rich from preaching the gospel. Do you know for sure though that these figures for both men are true (and you haven't made an identity mistake)? Also do you know that both men have kept this level of wealth for personal use rather than giving it for ministry? Given you have thrown out accusations here against two different pastors here it would be good to know that you can support them.

The worst part to me is how you turned that around on me again.
I want to find good faithful Christians to point to but where are they? You obviously are struggling in that area as well.
Look into Platt’s hand picked Co-Lead Pastor, who seems to be Woke and his support of BLM which are anti-family, anti-American, anti-Free Market, oh and anti-Christian.
Also look into the Woke takeover of the SBC and the Woke SBC infiltration into the McLean Bible Church and the accusations of money funneling against David Platt. And how he now owns a $1.1 million dollar home.
Your Golden boy is not who you believe he is.
These group of guys that platformed him here aren’t dumb and obviously know all this but still had him on without at least getting him on the record about the accusations. Platt acts innocent and wholesome and continues the charade. Very sad for his family and the flock.

I understand the concept of second or third tier beliefs but I don't think this interview helped show clearly where Mr. Platt says that line should be drawn. The examples given were over things like infant baptism or dietary restrictions but Paul said that the Corinthian involved in sexual sin should be cut off from the congregation. Does this mean is OK for a member of the congregation to support a politician advocating for sexual sin? Or the murder of babies? As an honest question, doesn't it seem that Paul's condemnation and separation of one so that they may see the error of their ways apply here as well?

@@katiecugini979 Woke is viewing western culture as oppressive. This is a term that the 'woke' themselves came up with. See Eric Mason's book 'Woke Church.' The main thrust of 'woke' ideology and CRT is that western culture is inherently 'systemically' racist, and that by mere fact of being white in America, you contribute to racism because you benefit from the American system. David Platt has assented to many of the core tenets of CRT in his sermons including the imputation of guilt on white people for having 'white privilege.' The idea of ancestral guilt is unbiblical and wrong. Placing guilt on people because of their skin color is racist. This is why many people have a problem with David Platt. Also, there was a lot of strong-arming with members of his church who took issue with perceived CRT being spoken from the pulpit. Certain folks were put in positions of leadership without congregational vote, and then Platt chastised members for bringing up concerns from the pulpit and removed their membership status. I don't know all the details, because I don't go to his church. But the tenets of CRT that he has adopted are problem enough. Progressivism in the pulpit may not seem like an issue to you, but it is a major issue. And people are right to question David Platt when he parrots a progressive ideology from the pulpit. You can pretend 'woke' ideology and CRT aren't a real threat to the gospel, but they are even if most people in the pews can't articulate like I just did.

No doubt some people leave hateful comments but being displeased with this episode or who they chose to interview is far from hateful. It is fair to levy criticism on the remnant radio guys if it seems they are not really pushing back against stuff that doesn't sound biblical.
They definitely call out other individuals when they are not doing the right thing, so it was odd to see them not really do it here. However, the remnant radio guys are very gracious when they interview someone directly and it is obvious that when they do criticize others, it is out of love. So, I personally am not really upset with them about this episode. But I can see how others might be bothered because this guest has made comments making it seem like only white Americans are guilty of racism or the only ones who show hate in this way, which is far from true. He deserves some pushback for some of his stances.

    • @T_Sawyer628
      @T_Sawyer628 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

The problem with your question resides in the issue with Remnant Radio supporting guys such as Platt. I mean, it was even said at the very beginning that Michael is a fan... (which is quite troubling) this clearly indicates the obvious that it is not about having an unbiased platform or a space where people even holding different views can speak but that they endorse such individuals. It's been brought up many times that these guys are guilty of having some of the most heinous individuals on their platform that they fully endorse. The most recent with undeniable guilt was Mike Bickle. This incident should have been a major wake-up call to the community followers to this channel. Especially being there has yet to be a public confession of repentance regarding their support and guidance for a guy like Bickle. It's embarrassing to say the least and it's shameful that they haven't had the spiritual maturity to present that to their followers for their sake but most importantly our Lords sake.
From a biblical standpoint we as believers should be holding these folks accountable. We should not be allowing them to free reign with this type of support without having a biblical response to their actions. We are commanded to do that. Test all and reject that which is not of God.
This is supposed to be done in love and with that I encourage that be how we address them. Hatefulness is unacceptable and not how God wants us care for our neighbor. We should hate all things that are against God or do not represent him but through love is how we correct those things.
Remnant Radio needs to shed the pride and they need to repent. I pray that the Lord through his spirit will give them the urge to repent.

God restores but does not erase consequenses. The bible designates a very steep standard to qualify people to lead others. Christians can have blind spots and miss the red flags that would steer them away from evil. You might want to clarify the statement that you can't be a christian and believe that way to those beliefs are not congruant with the bible teachings and therefore are not Christian beliefs. We must leave the judgements of people for God to do. He never gives up on us. He has straightened me out on many occasions. Judging people is arrogant. Stay humble knowing we all are a work in progress and standing firmly for the truth is only successful when God sends us armed into the fray. Love does not mean accept. Love delivers justice with the purpose of protecting the innocent and redirecting the guilty.

"Therefore, one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful. What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; " (1 Cor 14:13-15)

International missions have done a lot of damage, with the romanticizing of globe trotting for Christ, and that other cultures are inherently more noble than ours. Short term missions especially are burdensome and often not really a blessing for those hosting Westerners.
We have a tremendous amount of poverty in this country in the inner-city and with the rural poor, with some areas as bad as any impoverished or dangerous country.
American Christians have been discouraged from truly loving their neighbor for decades now by this type ofstance, which is how things in general have increasingly gotten worse both socially and spiritually.
Christian NGOs are not as wonderful as we think. I have seen some of this overseas.
Like it or not, politically fighting for the upholding of something like freedom of religion in the United States has major ramifications for those aspiring for the same in their own countries.
Paul taught there is no Jew or Greek, but he also asserted his Roman citizenship for the benefit of the Gospel.

From what I am hearing it appears that Christian NGOs are generally terrible. I think one should start with the assumption that it's probably bad, it's probably a front for left-wing politics, and look for evidence that maybe that's not the case. At this point I think starting the with the presumption that it's good is totally naive.

Romanticizing of globe trotting for Christ? You mean the gospel of Jesus as found in the book of Matthew?

@@JackFoerster-Hunzicker A lot of Christian NGOs don't actually preach the gospel or they make deals with a government to water it down, meanwhile their donors back home are not aware of this. When I went overseas I was stunned to find out Christian NGOs had agreed to only do secular improvement projects and never preach the gospel.
Jesus sent them out in pairs, not as NGOs. Paul supported himself as a tentmaker, found locals who came to Christ and then who became the leaders of the local church, while he himself moved on and maybe came back to visit. He did not have a bureaucratic apparatus behind him that would be immediately flagged and potentially compromised by a government in a hostile land.
Short-term missions (2-4 weeks) are known to be more of a vacation for those traveling and a burden for a poor community hosting them. For example, if they go to "help" with a building project, it likely would have ended up being more cost effective if a local church had been given the funds outright and they had found local skilled labor to complete the project, rather than unskilled visitors whom they have to host.
The local community will be hospitable and friendly usually, but that does not mean they are really happy they are there.
For decades American Christians have been encouraged to adventure overseas rather than serve the poor and unsaved right here in our own country.

Before watching the video, I read all these comments. I expected to hear some crazy and harmful stuff from Platt in the interview. Instead, what I heard and saw was a humble man who desires unity in the body of Christ and who wants the gospel to get to people who have never heard it. I am betting that whatever documentary is coming out is going to be mostly, if not all slander and will have the appearance of godliness while denying its power. Platt is probably choosing not to address it because it's the godly and loving thing to do towards those who are making it. It would bring more division which he doesn't desire. That's true humility. I don't know what critical race theory is, but I didn't hear anything harmful or unbiblical that he said in this interview about race. My gut says that there are people commenting on here who are not believers, or who have logs in their own eyes and so are unable to see clearly, or who delight in the apparent or supposed sin of others. The dude isn't perfect, but he's never claimed to be. In fact, he confesses sin all the time publicly. All he does is point people to Jesus, to the Word, and towards the unreached. Praying for him in this time and that the truth will triumph in the end.
Thank you David Platt for your faithful and biblical teaching through the years.

Yes , we all humbly desire unity in the body. Unfortunately he has a history of church leadership and books that he's written that clarifies how he intends to create that unity. Of which this interview delved into very little of. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with them as well as the reasons many people take issue with them. Remnant Radio has a history of making highly questionable people sound humble and misunderstood in a one hour interview.
Also calling something slander before seeing it is in fact slandering the creators of the documentary. Just letting you know. Maybe don't base all your opinions off a single interview. Anyways, good luck.

How many pastors do you know who pray for unreached people groups by name every day? For the life of me, I can’t understand why people are calling Platt a wolf. Also, where did he write about CRT? I don’t live in America and I haven’t researched it. I don’t recall him writing about it.
Lastly, I saw the preview for the documentary and noticed at least a few things that were in fact slander, such as saying that Platt’s preaching is an example of how not to do exegesis (I know that’s not the exact quote but it was something very similar to that). The dude literally puts the text on a screen every week and teaches verse by verse through the text. His exposition of Jonah in secret church last year was amazing!
