I actually love playing SSS for some reason lol. Also the first advice is basically for every single stage EXCEPT if you use the stage exclusive ec unit buff for the Mama's John stage for the current map lol. It basically FOCUS on bringing as much varied units as possible. My GG build for the Mama's John is basically 1 sniper (+ASPD), 1 caster (+atk only), 1 guard (+atk and +ASPD), 1specialist (+ASPD and sp regen), 1 vanguard (+atk and sp regen). Basically to take advantage of the ec unit (the more types of classes tactical equipment the more buffs you get). Tbh I LOVE Mama's John not only cause of the stage exclusive ec unit gimmick but also just cause every op can be deployed on every tile. I still hate the last stage tho-
yeah, the last stage is brutal with how fast the enemy comes, high defence enemies who come from the top and not to mention that you get bombarded too. 😅
@@aadipdip1326 At first my ranged units can tank those bombardment just fine, but at the end of the stage even my defender struggle to survive from one hit LMAO
I have 1 tip for SSS Bring along a tactican vanguard. In addition to them being a vanguard, generating you some DP, You can use them to start your sniper stack, and whilst the gear isn't as good for goldenglows skill as another sniper, it does cause the skill to cycle faster, which means you are less likely to get fucked in the downtime.
hello i am going to add more, specialists are also useful, especially pullers and pushers, they return back your operator so you can use that returned operator again for an extra stack. or add attack speed and sp if you can access their b part. i often use 5 stack specialists for Mizuki, he stops your opponent in place.
What do you mean questionable? The *BELTS* fetish is among the greatest things I have acquired in Arknights! And now I deem bad every char design that doesn't arknightsing hard enough ( aka doesn't have enough *belts* ) Edit: nice to see another video from you
Idk man 5 snipers gg kinda whack to use, i mean it does the most damage, but i like 3 snipers + 2 specialist setup more the extra 2SP feels really good on her to not care enough about skill timing usage.
I say it here, the most fun I everhad in SSS was having a 5sniper buff Archetto on S3 only hitting 2 Turrets from a 5guard buff Stainless, all that behind just 2 deffenders so she never attacks enemies and just do big boom damage. The mode can be a lots of fun, if you ever try to have some rather than just complaining all the time...
More often then not you'll need only 2-3 dps unit, so focus on building a team that benefits them. I'm sure hes gonna touch on who you can use in the next video, but heres what I usually pick as my main units: 1. Goldenglow S3M3 (5sniper / 3sniper+2Caster) - she provides high global range dps, mainly single target, but does have aoe splashes every now and then. And provides single target slow. 2. Leizi S2M3 (5sniper / 3sniper+2 Caster) -Provides decent dps and slow to multiple targets at the same time, works best if you gave her her module (which gives SP per unblocked enemy, as her S2 sp cost is very high) 3. Mizuki S1M3 (5vanguard/guard, imo you can mix and match) -Provides solid ground aoe burst dmg 4. Skalter S2M3 (5 Caster) -Acting as the medic while also providing significant ATK boost to allies. Focus on making a stable team that can eliminate enemies first before building her. 5. Saria S1/S2M3 (5Vanguard) -mainly there as the medic and may be able to act as the tank if you use some defenders as the fodder. 6. Chong Yue S3M3 (5Guards) -Great splash dmg, can be placed behind the tank and cover several lanes if the map allows it. 7. Irene S3M3 (2Vanguard, 3 Guard) -Great Burst dmg, mostly for dealing with tanky and high threat enemies. Can also be put behind tanks 8. Penance S3M3 (5 Vanguard) -Great dmg + Decent tankiness because of her HP shield. Also can be good unit to bait enemy ranged attacks due to her reflects. These are the units I use the most, but I do experiment every now and then like using Enmity units or Abyssal Hunter or ranged unit as the main units. It doesnt always work but its just for experimenting. Like Ceobe is somewhat of a decent unit to use because of the enemy's increased Defence over time, but because she doesnt provide anything other than dmg, you will need some help to make her work.
Irene should 100% be 5 vanguard (or combo of vanguard A and spec B, but spec B is less preferable here) bc the one thing she struggles most with is getting SP safely. Similar to Chongyue, but he can take spec B better bc of his expanded range. Notably, since Chongyue gets back 3 SP on-kill, giving him 5 SP through a combination of Vanguard A and Spec B puts him at 8/8 SP with the 3 SP bonus. I do tend to give him a guard A if my hand is bricked and I need to set up really quickly, though. I also tend to use Skalter without stacks - usually if you have enough range, you don't need to heal up as much. Also Goldenglow does pretty well with Spec B.
@@halley_lu For me, if I use Leizi and Goldenglow, they usually can just buy enough time or just kill enemies before they even reach Irene. so Irene acts more like a panic button as I dont need her as much as compared to if I use her as the main dps. her having more ATK through more guard buffs fits her role as my panic button.
More people should try SSS tbh. It's the closest thing to sandbox mode. Eyja S3 spam, Silverash S3 spam, exu machine gun, 8 BLOCK GAVIAL because why not

When SSS was not turbo nerfed yet, I figured out that caster buffing Passenger s3 is a far stronger carry than sniper buffing Goldenglow. Nowadays the mode is easy so it doesn't matter anymore, but back then Caster stack Passenger was way more consistent. 1. Still get big arts damage + slows. 2. Now if you have bad luck in getting your carry, you actually have casters that can still do damage unlike snipers which (mostly) do (low dph) physical damage and only give aspd buff which doesn't help pierce defence of enemies. 3. You don't need to bloat your squad with meh supporters, since your team can handle itself quite well without your carry. 4. Caster buff also makes Skalter way more insane. So she gives more attack to all of your operators (including your carry!) due to caster buff and gets her s2 faster, while healing enough to ignore medics in the majority of SSS. Tldr: Caster keep going brrrrt, goes extra brrrrrt when carry appears, also makes Skalter go brrrt, which makes the whole squad go brrrrt. Vs Sniper go bleh, carry go brrrt, wasting slots on too many supporter goes bleh, only brrrt when carry appears. PS: Mlynar exists now and also turns the gamemode into a joke because his dph is so high that not even SSS can hold him back.
I agree with you, but this does assume the quality of your operators is much higher (better operators, E2, masteries), which is something I can't assume when making a guide for players who are new to SSS or Arknights in general. New players who have access to only a few strong operators will need to find them as quickly as possible to succeed and can't rely on intermediate operators for defence because they aren't as good/don't have levels. Supporters and snipers allow you to do this much faster as they are cheap and you don't even have to have them raised, but yes if your account has much more girth to it then really anything can work
While i agree with most things i wanna state i kinda disagree with your tier list on some subjects. 1- Suzuran with S2 is definitely top tier. Suzuran s2 with 5 sniper buff damages and slows 3 enemies on top of debuffing them. 2- Ceobe and Eyja on "probably dont" its clearly a SSS problem (Skill iSSue). You need to build them with a 3/2 or 2/3 buff (snipers + caster). Casters buffs make them regenerate SP and snipers make them go crazy. Ceobe with S2 and Eyja with S3 with that build are bonkers in terms of damage. Lin s3 is also pretty good with that setup, specially when you can make her tank hits to recover even faster. While yes its somewhat harder to build, the rewards are quite good and should definitely be considered. My usual setup are a mix of vanguards + defenders (usually a 3-2 or 2-3 build) with healer guards being the last deployed (or mudrock with s2... beyblade gogo) (which means medics are not needed) and one of the combos i mentioned before (gnosis i also build with a 2/3 or 3/2 sniper + caster combo for fast skill cycle). Ive given this strategy to my discord group and they have been able to easily clear all the maps we have had. Just need to improvise on deployment order depending on map and RNG of units obtained.
I bring 1 star ops, ranger, yato normal, noir normal, etc. Making up like 12-14 slots just to stack equipment then drop gigachad units like GG, młynar, mudmud, hoshi, passenger, etc. Brought 1 specialist (gladiia) to recycle deployed unit for more equipment and lane holding. An alternate way without bringing any supporter ✌️
Ok. So I've got all the special medals, most of them only took a few tries. The game mode isn't hard, or even all that subject to RNG, but I basically build the same way every time (apart from the one map where you need to build for defenders, thanks for switching to that on stage 6 game). Goldenglow, Gnosis, Mudrock, Skalter, 3-4 snipers, 3-4 vanguards, rest supporters. For the Vanguards I always bring Bagpipe, Myrtle, Texas, and whoever. Snipers are Rangers, Exu, Justice Knight, and whoever. Sort supporters by cost and grab the lowest ones. If the unit in question isn't gonna be on stage for long then it 100% does not matter if they are leveled. It is SO much better to have a 5 cost Sora than a 16 cost Angelina, regardless if Sora is level 1 and Angelina is E290M9. Because you're going to be redeploying them over and over, which makes redeploy 3+ Angelina VERY expensive. And in leveling, grab snipers and vanguards to where you feel comfortable (ideally cheap ones, not monster cost ones like Chalter or Rosa), and then supporters as much as possible. Why rangers and justice knight? They're cheap af so you can cycle them easier. It's nice to have an Exu or someone in your snipers in case you need them early, but it's not your wincon so whatever. Mudrock with 3 vanguards is insanely tanky, and try to hit as many of your core with Skalter as possible. Then just stack snipers for Gnosis and Goldenglow, and hope you get the unit removal things on stage 4. Ta-da. Done. My problems with the mode are two fold: It's not worth the reward beyond the first clear and it's a badly designed deck builder. The first clear gives the good module blocks, and maybe if you're new the other module blocks will be useful but I'm drowning in them so I never bother after getting the special medals. And as for being a bad deck builder, a good one follows the same principles (focus your build, get your cycle, remove bad cards, pass on cards you don't need) pretty much every time. You start normal and then build up your strategy. This one starts with what is more or less your ideal team, and then makes it worse over time. So instead of building towards your end deck and opening up lots of possibilities, you end up having to focus on the most optimum because you're gonna get choked with filler over the run. It's not a bad mode, I don't mind playing it for the initial rewards, but for repeated play it's just not very fun.
This week poison map hard mode stage5 made me so frustrated so angry and so happy when i beat it fck rng spend an hour just to beat that one stage(with silent drone buff 1sp)
So bassically do the same i have done until now, I don't know if i should be proud but i know that my problem with SSS stays the same: team comps feel way to sameish
Step 1.) Reset until you have myrtle Step 2.) Stack a gorillion archers next to a stack of a gorillion casters Step 3.) Drop Skalter on the casters (+200% atk) and stack GG on the archers (+cocainum) Step 2.5 actually.) Have supporters and specialists that can be dropped on ranged tiles so you can cycle deployments better and use your strong units in the downtime between getting full gear Step 4.) lol and lmao when +200% atk Skalter is giving GG on drugs the funny number and the game now plays itself as long as you remember to give your pup on crack a headpat every now and again Step 4.5) deploy a random Mostima to enable dog headpats more often.
Thanks for revising the useful info for me, I basically employ all the strats here but instead of making gigachad GG, I turbocharge my Mlynar lol, something is too good seeing Mlynar deal 11k damage per swing lol
I will be very disappointed if you don't mention Vigil as an excellent Goldenglow stack, since he provides the same buff as Caster A (good for damage and uptime) while being cheaper than most casters
I always bring 7 snipers Thorn GoldenGlow and Reed alter then random low cost vanguard Defense and Medic sometimes do bring supporter but meh those 3 + 1 medic or Skalter is enough to eliminate everything for me
I shan't tolerate the Penance slander when you can use vanguards to turn her into THE LAW with over 10k ATK and infinite barrier + reflect. Irene's forehead does do incredible things in SSS, though.
I can't believe I got called cringe for being not lucky enough at gacha thus not having every six star operator in the game, I mean I do agree with this, but to outright call someone cringe? Better term would be "based impaired"
Always has been 🔫. No really, he was one of the few physical carries that could work before the first SSS nerfs when most physical ops weren't worth taking. A mix of 3/2 VG/Guards is enough for his S1 to be the sole DPS on most towers.
i've personally never seen anyone play sss without at least 6 supporters in their squad tbh... seems like an obvious decision. Then i realized that all of my friends who talk about SSS also play yu-gi-oh.
I remember a few months earlier and i was doing some maths on pre-change SSS and i came to the conclusion that for an optimal GG or Gnosis 5 sniper turbo as soon as possible on level 8, around 6 to 8 supporters is necessary. i haven't done the same maths for post-change sss but its easy enough tbh.
so basically, have gigachad Namie Ops

Sniper go bleh, carry go brrrt, wasting slots on too many supporter goes bleh, only brrrt when carry appears.
PS:
Mlynar exists now and also turns the gamemode into a joke because his dph is so high that not even SSS can hold him back.
Supporters and snipers allow you to do this much faster as they are cheap and you don't even have to have them raised, but yes if your account has much more girth to it then really anything can work
@@eha_nl Those are very fair points. You do need several good casters for this type of strat. I did not even think about this aspect, good eye.
Tsukinogi's job is to have amazing skins.
Deep Rock Galactic OST, good taste!
I love SSS, and I'm bad
Just need to improvise on deployment order depending on map and RNG of units obtained.
i always bring thorns to SSS. he's my boy!ing thorns to SSS
every SSS is just me stacking buff on Mudrock, Saria, GG and Suzuran
If you have lin and use her skill 1 with the 5x sniper buff her slow is permanent so which i have found useful on certain maps
My favorite team comp is fully unoptimized, aoe snipers shooting at mach 2
I bring 1 star ops, ranger, yato normal, noir normal, etc. Making up like 12-14 slots just to stack equipment then drop gigachad units like GG, młynar, mudmud, hoshi, passenger, etc.
Brought 1 specialist (gladiia) to recycle deployed unit for more equipment and lane holding. An alternate way without bringing any supporter ✌️
oof i always use thorns in SSS, i pair him with spalter with caster buffs
Goldenchad supremacy!
Step 1.) Reset until you have myrtle
Step 2.) Stack a gorillion archers next to a stack of a gorillion casters
Step 3.) Drop Skalter on the casters (+200% atk) and stack GG on the archers (+cocainum)
Step 2.5 actually.) Have supporters and specialists that can be dropped on ranged tiles so you can cycle deployments better and use your strong units in the downtime between getting full gear
Step 4.) lol and lmao when +200% atk Skalter is giving GG on drugs the funny number and the game now plays itself as long as you remember to give your pup on crack a headpat every now and again
Step 4.5) deploy a random Mostima to enable dog headpats more often.
Great video. Solid writing and funny. Keep it up man.
Thanks for revising the useful info for me, I basically employ all the strats here but instead of making gigachad GG, I turbocharge my Mlynar lol, something is too good seeing Mlynar deal 11k damage per swing lol
i had honestly forgot SSS existed till i saw this video lol
The horse man
damn, here i was thinking i was just bad but turns out i've been doing things right since day 1 of SSS and the gamemode is just shit
I only tried sss game mode once and never looked back
I activate pot of greed which allows me to draw 2 cards from my deck 🗿
i too want to ride on the vanguards like mizuki
No need to tell me to level Astgenne, mine's already E2 max. That's a good fkin bird
I will be very disappointed if you don't mention Vigil as an excellent Goldenglow stack, since he provides the same buff as Caster A (good for damage and uptime) while being cheaper than most casters
I can't decide which is more cursed: Gigachad Goldenglow or Torso-less Angelina
I always bring 7 snipers Thorn GoldenGlow and Reed alter then random low cost vanguard Defense and Medic sometimes do bring supporter but meh those 3 + 1 medic or Skalter is enough to eliminate everything for me
The only reason I don't touch SSS is because it's almost unplayable for me. My game always crashes when reaching the higher stages.
Got it, sacrifice all my least favorite children to Passenger
Trying 3* only in this mode is living hell
ok, june
Nice guide, by the way Home is where the Horse is chapter 2 when?
bruh
fr tho
I really liked it
Disregard team balance, build LARGE LIN.
cries in low rarity squad
I too want to have a gigachad goldenglow.
mr yeehaw, why is my gigachadglow on the bottom of my deck now god dammit
Have you tried getting lucky?
3:15 WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ANGIE
I shan't tolerate the Penance slander when you can use vanguards to turn her into THE LAW with over 10k ATK and infinite barrier + reflect. Irene's forehead does do incredible things in SSS, though.
3 sss videos this week. i'm sorry
My main problem with SSS that I have more than enough module resources from events, so why bother?
How do you unlock SSS? I have a few E2's and I still Don't see the game mode anywhere.
You need to unlock a module first
You need to unlock at least one module on your roster
I can't believe I got called cringe for being not lucky enough at gacha thus not having every six star operator in the game, I mean I do agree with this, but to outright call someone cringe? Better term would be "based impaired"
Wait so Mizuki is pretty good for SSS? I've always used my vanguards to pump up Mudrock and Saria's SP regen. I'll have to give Mizuki a try
Always has been 🔫.
No really, he was one of the few physical carries that could work before the first SSS nerfs when most physical ops weren't worth taking. A mix of 3/2 VG/Guards is enough for his S1 to be the sole DPS on most towers.
I personally hate SSS, despite it being easy enough to clear, because it is a slog to do the same stages manually everytime.
Hey Eha, what's your opinion on pinch-out?
3:12 Balls
So is not a "skill issue" is a "bad at pullin the gacha for good operators cuz you are unlucky" issue 🤔
Don't you worry about that
I do finish faster ಠ◡ಠ
i've personally never seen anyone play sss without at least 6 supporters in their squad tbh... seems like an obvious decision.
I have 27 snipers raised....
