Thank you. It was a terrific detour on my hike in great conditions, and what a view! 👌 Well worth it’s own little video.

Going to walk the Rob Roy Way this May by myself (with an extra route to Comrie). Looking forward to it. Thank you for sharing your experience. Greetings from Poland.

@@JustinWhiting9 Thank you. Will visit them. Addi tonally I am walking to Comrie to visit the former P.O.W.-Camp there, my German Grandfather was kept there for a few days. Then i will take a short cut over the mountains back to the official root into the direction of Aberfeldy.

Hello there, liked your video, thanks for sharing. Love visiting Rob's grave, been a bit of a pilgrimage over the years for me. Love the chapel too. The RRW is a great walk too, done that first time the right way last year and first time on film, but done it 4 times the other way, including the 17 miles extra a couple of times. One of my Grandmother's lived in Aberfolye, so spent many times there as a wee boy in the 70's, love the place. Will check out your other videos. New Subscriber, Davey.

Thanks for your great message Davey 👍 I love hearing stories like yours, it really deepens my understanding of the local culture. Thank you. I still consider myself be a newbie to Scottish hiking, even after 4 years and 5 long trails (all on YT). The RRW is a good trail passing some beautiful scenery and I found all the towns and villages friendly and welcoming. Hope you can watch my RRW series which was in fantastic weather, with the very best bit left until the final day 👌 Always thinking of my next trail in Scotland, wherever it may be. Cheers pal, Justin. 🤠

There’s life in the old dog yet if you’re considering the CWT! It’s a beast! 👍

A wonderful video of that beautiful Loch, Kirk and surrounding stunning countryside…
We attended a family wedding at that lovely church last week. On a recce a couple of days before, we too stood in front of Rob Roy’s grave. Nearly 300 years later we were moved to see little mementos/gifts still being left in his memory. I wondered if the admiration was for his crimes, his bravery, his standing against the British or his acceptance of The Union? Or simply the addition of a seemingly romantic, charmed life due to Sir Walter Scot’s romantic novel.
😢We puzzled awhile about the words “MacGregor Despite them” too, but then we saw a board with information about the family. Some members of that name were apparently guilty of many and varied crimes including theft, sheep rustling etc, but apparently it was, by law, enough to simply carry the name ‘MacGregor’ to have you arrested and hanged. NO trial required! Who can blame MacGregors then for use of the phrase “Despite Them”!
We’re home now, but look forward to our next visit to the movingly beautiful, Historic Highlands.

Thank you. Well, it’s the same story for ‘freedom fighters’ in all of history. The truth is often more gruesome than the legend. A truly awe inspiring location and viewpoint. One of many in wonderful Scotland 👌

Place was cool to see, but also one of the creepiest experiences I had over there.... it was just my family at the time there and we swear something was watching us from the woodline.......
