Hey! Vibrato is as oscillation of the vocals cords as air moves through them. It normally occurs when the singer is free of tension and allowing the vocal cords to oscillate. Because it is effectively an act of “not doing” it can be tricky to learn but if you focus on relaxation as a priority in your singing it should turn up. Any Jesus Christ Pose, Slaves and Bulldozers, Birth Ritual, or Beyond the Wheel performance from the Badmotorfinger era eclipses this performance. That said though, as a song Say Hello to Heaven is better than all of those.
I don't like the fact people are getting views off of vocal coaches critiquing one of the most Legendary voices and musician as this beautiful man Chris Cornell.
He hardly opens his mouth while singing and as a singer myself I cannot understand it. He can push so much through such a tight opening it’s unreal. He’s top tier vocally
I saw the second or third Audioslave tour, about the time he was sobering up. It was wild to watch him melt the girders of the venue while casually walking around the stage.
So Miley Cyrus sang this song at Chris's tribute concert. My initial reaction was who the F thought this was a good idea. Cut to a few minutes later and I've got tears in my eyes and respect for Miley's vocal abilities.
When she is singing more rock style songs, she has a really raspy deep voice. I think her voice is perfect for the song. she did do an amazing job though. Covering a song by one of the best vocalists is really hard
He was so young on this version! You should listen to later live versions. His Range and control is unbelievable. He really grew as an Artist as he aged.
Sometimes people like Chris Cornell and Sohyang come along and are one of a kind talents. They can do everything everyone else can do, they can hit every note at any pitch, but others can't do what they do.
Temple of the Dog was formed to mourn and honor Andrew Wood's death the Seattle musicians that knew him and all wrote songs and then decided to get together to share with the world. RIP Andy you were the founding ledgend without Mother Love Bone the world may have never known.
This song is actually dedicated to one of his best friends Andy Wood who had his own band named Mother Love Bone until he overdosed on heroin in the early 90s. The guitarist and I believe the bassist in Temple of A Dog were in Mother Love Bone and after their singer passed they took out an ad in a paper for a new singer and recruited Eddie Vedder and became Pearl Jam.

A guitar solo should always be an expression of the way the song makes the player feel. Mike pulls those emotions out of himself and when we listen intently, makes us feel as well.
Why are all my celebrity crushes voice coaches? Beth Roars and RVA. Nobody compares to these ladies

That song blows my mind every time I hear it, and I remember the day it was released. This here is a vocalist pushing himself past greatness, with the difficulty on "nightmare" and just. wrecking. shop.
Awesome song! Thank you Carlos for requesting it. I had suggested this song in previous videos too.
A great song written by a great person for and about a great person. Andy, Chris, we love you, we miss you, may your love live on through your legend.
A tribute to his late friend Andrew Wood. Check out Mother Love Bone, Stardog Champion or Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns.
Stargazer, Man of Golden Words, This is Shangri-La, I just wish we could've gotten an Andy version of A Dollar Short instead of Pearl Jam's Alive.
If it wasn't for Andrew Woods, Seattle grunge would not have been what it was. Grunge didnt die when Kurt Cobain did, it did when Andrew died.
THE SONG "CHLOE DANCER/CROWN OF THORNS" IS THE STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN OF GRUNGE
Also alice in chains would is about him. Sad layne and chris are gone
Also, Candlebox wrote Far Behind for him. No other artist has caused so much great music in their death.
08:42 onwards: if this was a Legal battle, that evidence is case closed, Chris Cornell was by far, BY FAR, the best singer of that era and in the conversation for the greatest whoever did it. Miss him everyday.
Yesssssss, this may be his most impressive vocal performance live.
Not even close. You serious?

Beyond the Wheel - Live
Motorvision
Ticket to Ride - Live Troubadour
Audioslave-Live NYC. Set It Off/Gasoline
These are just a few better live performances off of the top of my head where Chris isnt out of key half of the performance like he is here.

Love your reaction to Chris's high notes.
His voice makes me cry almost every time. Also wanna party, make love, yell, hummm I guess he just gets me super emotional.
Hearing Chris sing brings tears to my eyes.
I really miss Chris a lot. It seems unreal that he will never appear physically among us again. Voice and person with heart and soul.
Nice!! Thank you for doing this song it's one of my favs!
Loved that the Soundgarden boys would represent 90. Old skate companies had the best shirts.
I love this song. I think Miley did a great job on this too
another great song...another great reaction...thank you ...awesome
Chris Cornell in a beret is something I am so glad to see and didn’t know I needed.
Thaaaaaaaanks for this, Beth! Chris was great and will Always be!
He was so young on this version! You should listen to later live versions. His Range and control is unbelievable. He really grew as an Artist as he aged.
Rip chris, his death was hard, i cried for months listening. To his music.
I'm amazed the man could even sing this song live, it's a dedication song to his dead friend.
Chris Cornell..When im Down,Live from The Troubadour...one of his best performances ever.😎
Such a legeng, what a musician, what a voice....
Sometimes people like Chris Cornell and Sohyang come along and are one of a kind talents. They can do everything everyone else can do, they can hit every note at any pitch, but others can't do what they do.
One of my favorite songs of all time!!!
Sound garden react to Beyond the Wheel live in Germany that one is one my favorites
yes!!!
That was right after they just found out Andy died which is why Chris looks so hurt during the song
I personally think that performance isn't his best.
the 94 version is better just no vid with it just audio
What about the Intro to I awake . where he raises his pitch two steps then back down one
God how we miss our brother Chris. He changed music forever.
So happy to see you review this!
Temple of the Dog was formed to mourn and honor Andrew Wood's death the Seattle musicians that knew him and all wrote songs and then decided to get together to share with the world. RIP Andy you were the founding ledgend without Mother Love Bone the world may have never known.
ONE OF THE MOST TECHNICAL SINGERS OF THAT ERA .
I sing live it’s scary people judge he wasn’t the man the myth the legend Chris Cornell yet
Great voice an talent an it broke me into when he passed away a couple yrs ago !!!
Chris Cornell did a great duet of Hunger Strike with Chester Bennington: it's also a must watch.
Here is my reaction to Linkin Park: th-cam.com/video/89UvKvNeVRI/w-d-xo.html
One of the best vocalist ever existed
It's 2019, holy sh1t, watching Chris sing this to Andy, now that Chris is dead, too,...I'm in tears.
Still miss Andrew Wood...you should review Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns :)
Star Dog Champion- Bite the Apple
Man of golden words
Yes I see Mr.Eddie Vedder in the background love it soo very much!!! Love Chris Cornell RIP you beautiful talented man miss you sooo very much!! Beautiful song for Andy Wood 😇😇❤️🤘
When Beth is talking about his diction and not being able to understand some of the words but you're absolutely belting those verses out without a care in the world after listening to it a ridiculous amount of times over the years 😛
God I miss Chris so much. This song makes me cry.
This is my favorite song ever.
Unreal singing...just unreal 🔥
thank you for doing more chris cornell
Chris sang this for andrew wood. He was basically his best friend. Andrew died really young. Its a sad story. The grunge scene is sad and nothing but a mess.
Rip Andrew wood
It certainly had more than its share of tragic stories, but out of it came so much incredibly beautiful and powerful music. It was truly one of the greatest rock music "scenes" of all time. Quite possibly THE greatest.
There was such pain and Grudge that produce so much Beauty. I'm amazed how much pain can produce Beauty. Some of my best poetry has to do with some of worst times in my life. Please listen to the studio version of this song and you will hear Chris Cornell's grief and pain and it is so different it is as if he's singing a different song. Thank You Beth for all you do. with respect always, Brant Heavner 😊
@@brantheavner9770 Pain creates such beauty... the irony of human existence.
I know it doesn't have anything to do with the singing, but 7:23-7:34 has the best build to climax and tension release I've ever heard.
