Question about the XREAL Beam Pro - Since it's Android OS with Nebula then can someone download an APK File and install an APP that way on this device?

@@metalcrip89 No the glasses must be plugged in as they don't have any battery or processing happening on the glasses. They are just displays

Nope, and I don't know if they are going in that direction. One of the things that makes these glasses so comfortable is they are super lightweight since they don't have batteries or on board tech
Question about Pricing for XREAL Beam Pro - Since there is the Wi-Fi model and a 5G model coming soon, what if any will be the price difference for the different storage options?

You are going to be able to use gesture control with your hands (in beta now), and you can have the view on the screen follow you around or stay in one place in space.

Why not everybody mentioned the battery specs?
If I remember correctly I think it's a 4000 mah battery but that could depend on the model

So this DOES support 6dof? As in, it stays in the same XYZ space? This should be clearly definsed as it would be a major selling point for the Air 2 Ultra.
I am told the Air 2 Ultra has 6dof and you can place and leave windows in place in space. I didn't get a chance to test it but I have a review unit coming and will make sure I test it then
@tabGeeks Right, but it needs a device to drive it. The Beam Pro itself would also have to support 6DoF. You were using both the Air 2 Ultra and the Beam Pro in the video so I figured you guys would know.
I will ask the rep to confirm, but I am pretty sure he said they both do

If your glasses support 6DOF then it's 6DOF. The Beam Pro is designed for real Nebula / 6DOF etc

You don't even offer shipping to Australia. If it was as good as you say you would ship here where we have a strong consumer law. Seems you only ship to countries you can take advantage of
As much as I like this product, this is just like carrying 2 phones....just make an app....sales will show what I mean...

That will require further testing when I get my review unit. Subscribe and keep an eye out for a future video.
Why not just make an app with these features for more powerful phones?
They did, but phone manufacturers and Google added security that prevents one app loading another into its memory space without special permissions/system keys, that are very difficult for smaller companies to get. So Xreal made their own device where they manage the system and can allow Android apps to load within the OS's AR Space.

@@justinseansYes it's (kinda), make dex have background picture that's all black and apps will look as they are floating.... Secondary Dex can work in a 6DOF environment and supports 3D videos....
I don't have Xreal Air glasses, can i still use the Device as a normal phone?
As a normal phone, no. But you could use it as a 6 inch tablet and use other phone apps such as Google meet WhatsApp Dialpad, etc. As a standalone device it is full access to the android store and works just like an android phone or tablet it just can’t make real phone calls.
@@tabGeeks I see, I don't need phone call/sms features. Just need access to Android apps and recording spatial videos and transferring them to my PC via USB-C cable

@@mikemjlove4988 wow i didnt even think it still makes a good use case for without glasses beacuse you can record Saptial videos which will work in Apple Vision and Quest. (Quest can now also play iPhone Pro recorded spatial videos)
My phone has Google Play Store too... Maybe just fix the damn app so I can use the Play Store apps through the the Nebula app. Shouldn't have to carry around 2 phones to use the damn glasses. Also, having to tether the Xreal fake phone to my phone's internet is rediculous. Tether limits exist.
Why couldnt this of just stayed as a puck to attach to the phone we really didnt need this ipod puck essentially
"It's a tablet because it doesn't have a phone,".. my Samsung tablet can make phone calls... How did they stop it making calls? If it has a SIM and speaker, what the hell stops it making a call?
Nothing. You can download and use any VoIP telephony app, it just doesn’t have native cellular phone call capabilities like a phone would so it’s closer to a cellular tablet. I should have taken a closer look but I’m not sure it has speaker and microphones in the usual phone spots
@@tabGeeks if it doesn't have a speaker and microphone, how can you do VoIP,? And as I said, a Samsung tablet can make real phone calls, not just VoIP calls.
Not sure if install Whatapp will work?
Think of this as a full Android tablet with full access to the web store. You should be able to install Whatsapp and scan the QR code with your phone to login just like you would on a computer or tablet. Anything an Android tablet can do, this can do. Both options were announced in the keynote on stage at the conference. The 5G model is coming in a few weeks.

@@xpusostomos I did exactly the same thing, but because I'll always have my smartphone with me, I'll just create a WiFi6 data hotspot and connect to that.

It looks like you guys stole some Apple Vision Pro video. I've never seen AppleTV available on Android. The other thing I don't get at all is why you didn't just make this a phone as well??? I'm guessing you're just a chipset away from being able to do that. I was so excited for this device because I thought it was a phone as well and I wouldn't have to worry about 2 devices. What a let down.

I would say fire your designer, ur hardware are better than rokids but its like ur designing ur devices first and hope someone would use them, that pointer is freaking big and phone like. I already have another big phone in my bag, i don’t want to add another phone that takes much space in it.

All this is nice EXCEPT I use my beam for pc gaming and this CRAP has ZERO physical connection point for any devices. I was misled by xreal because they never said this so I bought one only to be let down when it arrived. THE ORIGINAL BEAM IS SO MUCH BETTER! I cannot find any use for this and wish I never ordered it.
this is so stupid they could have easily made this an app and enabled this functionality on ur phone like an emulator of sorts
It would kill your battery life, and no way to connect and charge at the same time on a phone.
@ShaunaMorgan USB dongle a small one I use one for my phome smaller then my palm USB c in and enough ports would be much more useful using my phone I could use all my apps without installing again 5g and phone calls and not waste money carrying two phone everywhere
unfortunately it is impossible due to android and ios security restrictions for third party apps.
You arent going to do Spatial computing on a mobile phone lmao. maybe some samsung deviecs with display out, but a standard USBC port isnt enough when you need to also handling all that "VR like" processing. YOu can already use glasses with iphone/android usbc out, but you need power in the middle if you want 3DOF or 6DOF capabilities

That device is too big! We dont need it that big since we have the glasses on. The obsession with big phones are just out of hand.
I would totally love to see a 4 inch version of this! And make it a full phone, the small phone market is basically dead but we still want them!

Xreal did an incredible thing right here. They made the shitty OG beam look really great by releasing whatever this piece of trash is.
This is disappointing, WE ALREADY HAVE A PHONE IN OUR POCKETS! You haven't worked out the bugs of the original beam and your moving on? So we all wasted our money on original beam!
Your smartphone is also not even anywhere near capable of NebulaOS or VisionOS for Apple. The touchscreen is your trackpad and pointer when you have the glasses on. This is not a phone, it’s your personal spatial computer. Please tell me how your smartphone is going to run all these AR apps with body anchor positioning keeping power to your glasses while also allowing you to charge it. Yes let’s just have the iPhone touch screen interface as a mirrored screen cause that’s what nobody likes lol
