Love the videos you do. I am newer to Eve so I have a question. What would cause me to do 200 less dips than you with the same set up? Are there skills I am missing. My drones do less damage and my missiles as well. Thanks!
o7 thanks man :) There are many skills that affect this. Gallente cruiser to level 5 makes the missiles do more DPS. Then having drone and missile dps skills trained helps as well. Cant remebmer the name but just browse in missile and drone skills (make sure to checka all skills) and look at ones that affect dps. Also if you are an alpha clone it will make the dp slower too because you cant train as much skills.
Also just make sure that in the simulation and in reality you have the launchers loaded
Wow, this works! I have been doing T3 comfortably on the live server, but T4 was always too scary for me. I tried several other fits on the test server, but the death rate was just 100%. I tried this fit for 3 runs on the test server, and I survived all of them! There were some close ones though, especially the drifter room and the sansha room, where the K. Tyrannos and the devoted knights have such high DPS... I did have HG Crystal A-E, wonder how it will do without them...
OMG did my first 10 runs with this fit, got a loot worth 350+ mil and another worth 750+ mil... This is crazy, way more lucrative than T3

I spent a few hours trying this on the test server. I died every single time to Karybdis. I have Shield Management, Upgrades & Operation all to V, and the remaining shield skills to IV. I notice you barrel straight toward him to orbit @ 500, rather than coming in at high transversal. I'm trying to do the latter, but generally I am wrecked before I can get too close. Not sure what I'm missing or doing wrong, but 'll keep trying. Thanks for this video.

What EHP/s tank are you getting?
Also when you go in for Karybdis, do you kill the cruisers first? High priority are scram > webs > target painters. They all make wrecking shots much high liklihood to happen
Also this may seem dumb but ive done it before, did you forget to activate your multispectrum shield hardeners?

Record yourself and send it, this doesn't tell much. You see it with your eyes he is not even in danger here but he also didn't fly straight at her like you claim. It was almost maximum transversal as he was going for cans and then a short period of burning at her when already under 30 km anyway. You must be doing something wrong you aren't aware of. Few Karen runs recorded would help.
@@mooncake1429 Yes at 8:37 he is at 29km, and orbits 500, which will result in him flying straight at the target for a bit. I didn't realize < 30km was a safe distance to do this, hence my comment.
Your suggestion to record myself is a good one, and in fact I've been doing that, and at the same time trying to suss out my mistakes. It seems my skills/fit are OK, so the mistake must surely be in piloting. I started abyss to make money, but quickly realized it was a great way to learn some better piloting techniques for PvP as well. Thanks for your suggestion.
@@mightyklamath7079 It's not super safe, but with a MWD and his speed, he will get into orbit quite quickly. In the beginning Karen is moving around the field so burning at her straight will surely be a challenge cause not only she's far away but also moving away from you, effectively even longer distance. Like you said I probably would still try to come at an angle even at 30, but it's not like went straight for her from the start.
Do you have the videos somewhere?
Would you consider this build viable without the Tech 2 missiles?
Also, have you encountered the EDENCOM rooms yet? I had a similar Gila fit get trashed today on a T3 Electrical because I rolled an EDENCOM room. Only difference with tank was 100ehp shield boosts instead of 150 (on the fitting screen) because I didn’t have the shield cycling rigs.
I have not tested so can't say for sure about the tech 2 missiles. I think it should work since majority of the dps is anyway from drones.
My T4 gila that I use has the same tank as this one and it is hard in the edencom rooms. What I do is overheat everythgin, turn off mwd, take out thunderchild then marshals. Also I have almost max skills
@@Aceyface I bought a set of mid-level crystal implants and swapped the Cap Rig for EM Resist rig so I have *some* resistance to those dang vortons.
And I completed T4 for the first time. Nearly didn’t make it out on time because I didn’t have my drones focused up on the deepwatcher battleships room. They kept healing each other and one drone wasn’t enough to punch through.
tooled around with it and made a couple changes that i think optimize it even more
1st change
removed the multispecs in favor of dual shield boost amp II
-This give more "tank for your buck" per mid slot over multi since they aren't effectively neutralized by the negative em resist effects in electricals
-saves even more cap which frees up the second change
2nd change
removed the ccc rig in favor of a thermal resist II rig
cap with my character and the two cheap cap implants is 35.2% stable
696 EHP/s tank vs abyssal npc->trig->highest
565 EHP/s tank vs abyssal npc ->all->average
433 EHP/s tank vs abyssal npc->seeker->lowest
comparing to the fit shown in the video
38.3% cap stable
510EHP/s tank vs abyssal npc->trig->highest
436EHP/s tank vs abyssal npc->all->average
312EHP/s tank vs abyssal npc->seeker->lowest
I haven't tested this in game but on paper it tanks on average 130 more EHP/s

@@fabriciomind have you made sure the abyssal electric effect is applied in pyfa? also you will need lvl 5 cap skills

I havent tested this myself but based on experience I think you will die very quickly to karybdis. Not because you dont have a lot of ehp/s tank, its very good but the thing is Karbydis has a very high liklihood to land wrecking shots. Since you have no multispecs karbydis will 1 shot your shields. Using 2 multispecs I sometimes can dip in armor if unlucky (2 wrecking shots after another), I could just imagine how spicy it would be if I had none XD.
The reason I dont go for thermal rigs is because I dont usually have much issue tanking triglavians (they can spool up and then I have issues but since you can kill them it doesnt usually be an issue). This is why I go for solidifiers and tank mostly towards the omnidamage that karybdis uses since karybdis is by far my biggest threat when running abyss sites, its the only sites which has caused me to take armor damage.
@@Aceyface im just gonna yolo it on the live server did 2 T4 electrics last night and it was fine ( never dipped below 90% shield). I just need the karybdis room to see if it gets owned or not.
went with the Thermal resist rig since most abyss npcs do some amount of thermal damage and its the lowest resist next to EM. 39.6% of the total damage shot at you is thermal.
also doing an EM rig would be pointless since it gets mostly negated anyway. (you get 11.6% em resist) compared to an extra 22.4% thermal resist going from
36%->58.4%
do you by chance know the max damage karybdis does, before resists, on a wrecking shot?
@@alphakilo4456 I ran this fit in T4 plenty and it worked just fine. even against karen wrecking shots.
That said i have changed the fit around to make that room more comfortable.
I now use dual solidifier II in the rigs with a T1 em resist rig
and use one amp and one multispec.
I bought some cheap abyssal rolled c-type pithum reps aswell (for rep amount and cap usage) and i now run that comfortably in T5 electricals.. 550m for the fit plus mid grade crystals.
all said and done it tanks 900 EHP/s cold with +15 GJ/s cap buffer
Do you need a 400 eph tank for t4? I only get up to 200 ehp form fits from torvald uruz.
Will it work well if I replace the microwarp with afterburner?

Been trying to learn about abyssals... but one thing that is confusing me is that all the stuff I watch that's like 2+ years old use thermal damage. But I've been watching some recent stuff that's using kinetic instead?
What is the correct damage type now? Has it changed since these older videos?
I´m not an expert, but i would say look on the weather effects increases and decreases, like in exotic you shoot kinetic because there in a penaltiy for kinetic resistence. in gamma you use explosive and so on and so on. Just look on the weather effects penalties and you get the right ammo.
edit: and also look on the resistences of the rats.
can i use the prototype arbalest rapid launchers instead of t2 launchers and also my power grid is over by like 40 and i plan to only use the Imp navy infiltrators no tech 2 . Can i still do t4 electrics?

Been running t3 electricals for a bit now and was thinking this fit is near enough what I fly anyway. Cheers. One thing I've noticed i was running gurista sites between filaments but was getting bored and in about 30 sites had no escalations switched to running the sites in a light ion blaster cormorant and suddenly flying if fun again and I've had 3 escalations in 10 site!

I'm fairly certain the cormorant could just sit on them and blap them with no real danger but trying to manually fly not waste ammo with the 4-2 optimal range is just so much fun and one of the reasons I play eve
Try fitting a Double Mag Stab, Neutron Blaster Cormorant. It's a case of USS Defiant, tries to rip itself apart when powered up fully.
Nobody expects the 550dps shotgun cormorant.
quick question: i know most trig ships have a thermal resist hole, but isnt it still better to use (in this case - electrical sites) EM missiles? with Gallente Cruiser u get a 50% damage increase on your missiles, but since these are t4 sites, they get a 50% EM resist hole (which would make it about the same dps minus that extra bit from their hole) up to 70% (meaning more damage if i math out ok)?
You get 50% only on kinetic and thermal so that's why is better not to use EM
@@k9carry-gabriel-803 that's from the gila bonus. But the site itself decreases the EM resist by 50 to 70% hence the question
Ive not done the math but I use the thermal ones for exactly that reason that the triglavs have lower thermal resistance. Needs thorough testing though :o

Unlimited money on test server - buy a capital ship (all ships cost 100 isk) insure it, dock, self-destruct, repeat if needed
Why you use flame missiles instead of mjolnir? That bonus dps from gila skills is worth it?
Depends on NPCs, those with naturally low resists favor more thermals while higher ones favor the mjolnirs. but you get a really massive DPS from the termals so based on the npcs ive looked at its worth it more than its not.

I have no experience with tier four abyssals, keep that in mind. But I run a passive shield Gila with a faction AB for tier 3's.
I run an empty clone with three heavy missile launchers, a damage control and two faction drone damage amps, and I can tank Karen all day even with smashing hits. I use an MTU, and if it's a bit slow, you can always grab the faster tractor speed MTU.
My thinking is with a passive tank, you remain sturdy with a dry capacitor, and benefit from a smaller sig; with MWD, you glow like FedBois at the Klan meeting. If your SP are low, you just have to keep your traversal high, by spiraling in, when approaching the rats that inflict hurtful strikes, like Karen.
Oh-- I have a strike range of 59km with launchers, and 77km with drones. Be careful orbiting Karen, because everytime I see that hoe in T3's, she's hugging the hurt laser borders of the abyssal space. Just keep traversal and go back and forth parallel to the border wall. Inside 7km she has trouble even hitting you as long as you keep traversal velocity.
well i tried this and just wasn't cap stable and died. make sure you have high speed maneuvering at 5
What type of filament did you use? I only do electricals because they make your capacitor stable (they double your cap recharge). Sorry for your loss man.
@@Aceyface I did raging electrical. No need to apologise dude :) my pyfa seemed a little off lol. I love this fit
when you have high speed maneuvering at 5 you get and extra 3 or 4 seconds cap. That doesn't seem like much but throw in that electrical and that 3 seconds makes a huge difference in cap stability. I tried with a corelum c MWD and that gives a lot more cap but less speed and more expensive. Without max skills use the cheap implants until you do.

@@Aceyface ok so sorted skills and i know the idea is to be cheap without implants but.... i put a thukker cap battery on and the 2 cheap 3% cap implants is, i got the leshak room with 3 starving, 2 renewing and 1 striking leshak. They only got me to 20% cap before i killed the starvings.
this is by far the best fit for t4 going off the price and how easy it is to use. you should be proud of yourself with this one @Aceface.

hey... this is a good fit I try it in real server and their is 1 problem .This fit has very low capacitor and if they scram you and you don't act fast your are dead ! I die cause of that , to many ships and you must know the names of all ships you have against you so you know what ship do what , and this is too much , you always need to see who scram you and act fast cause in this fit no capacitor , even if you have 1bil worth of items you are dead.... every room is 50% to make it alive so is not easy as you thought...

O well I guess I should have known how broken this game is when u can fly inside a rock and get stuck and loose a billion dollar ship that takes you months to acquire all because it took u too long to finish a room due to the game glitching out
