Oh Robert. Sorry to hear you been taken poorly. Speedy recovery to yourself amd your team memebers who are suffering. Thankyou for still posting and providing us with your knowledge. X
Wish you better. I have had strange symptoms like that too for over two weeks now. Chesty, runny nose and sneezing - non-stop. Getting better, but haven't shaken it off completely so far. The longest time I have ever had this!
Sorry to hear you're under the weather Robert. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery. Thanks for putting this out even when you should probably be hold up in bed. I was beginning to wonder if my follow-up email to your response had somehow put you off but this certainly explains any delay in communication. Thanks again for all you do!
8:20 thats what I like to think about - just how big an impact there is when a person has their eyes cared for by a professional, just how quickly their life can be improved
Oh darn! Hope you get better soon. Been down since before X-mas too. It's going around all over this planet. Sending healing thoughts from afar. Great video as always, mahalo!
Please take care of your health! You've done the right thing. Stay home. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Thank you for not pushing through and exposing your colleagues also. Sometimes you have to put yourself first in order to take care of others later.
I hope you and your team feel better soon! I've got the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer and I did swap the Rx lenses of my old Wayfarer Ease into it. A bit tricky to do since you can't heat the frames. I love the look now that I have Rx transition lenses on it. Keeps my hands free and the POV shots are cool. It's a plus that I get to leave my earphones at home now that I can listen with the open ear audio from the Smartglasses.
Was great to meet you today Robert, thankyou for your help and guidance …looking forward to the summer and showing off my diamond flash coating 🤓😎…. And ultimately completing on another pair 😊
Hello Robert, I hope that you get well soon! Would you please tell me your thoughts on a Swedish eyewear brand called CHIMI ? Any ideas about the quality? Thank you.
It's 4 months later. I hope you're feeling better. In December I had Covid for month. Lost my sense of taste and smell. Lost 30 pounds. Couldn't get out of bed for a month. It took me a long time to gather my strength back. We are all human. Life isn't just about work. Life is living.
Hi Robert, i don’t think you can put a limit on any “collection”. Get what you want and own them, to hell with limits.. if you can afford it, go for it.. wear them, wear them all or what’s the point? Get well soon lad.
There are definitely acetate frames that will suit Asian noses - cutler and gross being one of them (ie no nose pads!). Thank you Robert for taking the time to answer some questions even in your state, your passion for glasses is infectious. At first I was worried my ‘collection’ of eyewear couldn’t be justified but I thought, people have a collection of designer handbags, shoes, cars. Glasses is no exception and I absolutely get so much joy wearing my luxury glasses (and compliments that follow!). Get well soon x
Don't you mean that Cutler and Gross doesn't suit Asian noses? They use only the excess acetate from the front to build up the nose but don't stick on any additional material for nose pads. I'm 50/50 on which way to go. I think nose pads are uncomfortable on heavy acetate frames but they are kind of needed unless the brand has reduced the size of the bridge to make it work without them. I know with brands like Ahlem, some Asian stores add nose pads to the frames before they go on sale.
@@pato10111 nope, I’m Asian and have low bridge and I’m about to pick up my third pair of cutler sunglasses this week. I too was very surprised when I tried my first pair of C&G and couldn’t believe it just sat on my nose! I will say it’s not all models but my optical shop has an incredible range. The common theme with the three pairs of C&G I own is that it all has a smaller gap in the bridge - as you just mentioned. Other than that, my day to day specs all have nose pads - except for my Masunaga which again, no nose pads! Do you have a good optician? They make a world of difference getting the fit perfect. I don’t own any glasses with custom nose pads added. Either they have them or don’t. I’m a massive fan of Theos. check those out!
@@Maggie2809 I reckon Cutler and Gross have perfected the no nose pad fit in that case which is great because nose pads are uncomfortable. I mostly wear brands that don't use nose pads.
Hope you get well soon. Love your program. It’s fun and very educational. Just wanted to know your thoughts on the omega and montblanc sunglasses Thanks
If it makes you feel any better it’s because of you I decided to get gast with bi gradient tint! I used to always get cheap glasses but wearing them everyday needed an upgrade!
Everywhere I search, I see Jacques Marie Mage recommended. I know you're paying for a name, but I hear the experience and quality is phenomenal. I ordered a pair of silver Ugo's from their titanium collection, and they will arrive tomorrow. However, I don't know if I will keep them; we'll see how impressive they are. My biggest curiosity is the lens being CR39. I'm not educated enough to understand why I see non-polarized lenses for all the high-high end sunglasses. Why is that? And what is your opinion on JMM? Thank you for reading.
I have a question. I get the cartier glasses look great. But For that price, you can have a bespoke pair of glasses from Maison Bonnet or Ateliers Baudin (I think the acetate pair starts with that $1k mark and horn starts with $1.7k or something? ). Given that, why should anyone buy a carrier? Isn't a bespoke pair better? (Though I am not uptodate about their current pricing. If you could get some info on that, it would be really helpful.
@@Libertaro-i2u no it's not 🤔 just because a shirt's buttons are stitched according to your specifications, doesn't make that shirt bespoke. A bespoke garment is a whole other thing.
i have a collection of 20 pairs .. i guess addiction lol!! from dita, chrome hearts, jmm, matsuda, kubaraum, lv.. all are good in its own way!! just buy it! wear it, enjoy it, and youll be fine
I am curious Robert, you mention Rick Rubin, have you heard his talk with Huberman and Dr. Jack Kruse? They talk a lot about light and its effects on our bodies, you might enjoy it.
My biggest issue with eyeglass frames is that companies do such a poor job at advertising and promoting what makes their frame worth what they're charging. Why is one titanium frame $20 bucks versus another that is $400 or what not. Some frames are very easy to see where the money is but others feels like a crapshoot.
Do Reykjavik Eyes titanium frames require special tools and ability of an optician to install lenses to? Or the fitting process is similar to cord (half rim) frames? I hope you recovered well by now.
What are your thoughts on Matsuda? I just got my first pair of sunglasses(3115) I am looking to get a pair of glasses(3118) I really like from them also!
Lol. Here I am watching the video and trying to convince myself to get a 2nd pair for back up (1st time in 30 years of wearing glasses that I feel the need to have a 2nd Pair at once.. all b/c I just learned how cheap online glasses can be!! 😂
@@thespectaclefactory thanks. I hope you are feeling better. I would like to see a demo of your online consultations I wonder how it works choosing frames you can’t try on especially for progressive lenses.

I don’t completely understand the ray ban smart glasses. They are pretty similar to the Snapchat Spectacles that Snapchat has been experimenting with since 2016 and the New Spectacles from 2021 also have AR and pretty comparable specs to the Ray Bans. The main thing that seems to be different is the integrated audio, but those features seem like they would be better suited delegated to something like AirPods. I’d rather have my glasses be lighter than include the audio system which may be redundant. I think when smart glasses mature more they offer a lot of promise, but I find Meta’s offering a bit underwhelming considering where Snapchat was a few years ago.
