  • Mt Baker highway is an incredible ride. Miles of hairpin turns, switchbacks, hills, incredible views and no guardrails. This ride is exceptionally beautiful, and exceptionally deadly. It begins in Demming Wa, where highway 9 meets 542. So grab your camera and a friend, and head out for this incredible ride. PLEASE be careful. The tight turns are well marked, just don't overestimate your skill. Some of the turns are overtly banked, making it easy to scrape or bottom out if you go too fast!!!

Deadliest or Paradise. I crashed my CBR up there in 2007 but I loved every minute of it.

Exactly a wonderful stretch of road. Just watch those overt pitched corners. It can be a long way down.

Awesome video, sir. I’ve lived here seven years and haven’t been on this road yet at all… thanks so much for not only sharing your experience, but your REVER ride map- TOTALLY doing this one in the summer!

Amazing. I was so excited to see it, and amazed, a car had just whizzed by going the other direction, and there was a large group of people and dogs just a little way up the road.

July. You can get to the meadows most of the summer, but the road to the very top at artists point is closed until mid to late summer when enough of the snow melts. The date that part opens changes annually based on weather, so it’s always best to check first if your intention is to ride up that far. It’s an awesome ride. One of my favorites for sure.

So I’m looking for why this is a dangerous road, yet one shot you’re driving one-handed and another you’ve got a smoke going. Straight roads are not generally dangerous (unless distracted drivers leaving the lane could be a reason.

I believe it is the number very sharp and overtly pitched corners. The way the road is banked in several instances reduces you maximum lean angle significantly.
