Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of the criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies - Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) - amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens. When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), The Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and The Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and brings justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

I like how the Joker figured out the Riddler almost instantly, but actively made his answer inflammatory so that Batman wouldn’t take him seriously. But he was right. He was 100% right.

Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
      John 1:1,14 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us,
      1 John 3:8 KJV
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
      Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
      John 1:10
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.

Yeah, this one genuinely made my skin crawl. I really like Heath Ledger's performance and it's perfect for the tone of Nolan's movie and definitely helped redefine the character which is why it will always stand as one of the greats--- but people act like it's untouchable and it's sacrilegious to think anyone can ever compare to it or improve on it. This would not be the case if he hadn't sadly passed, imo.
These movies have a completely different tone and so it's a matter of preference and I prefer this more noir, realistic take. You can tell this performance lends from Ledger's characterisation and its all the better for it but the way this is played is just far more disturbing and sadistic to me than any other portrayal, imo.
I think Barry has been able to incorporate all the parts from other performances that people use to define the character and turn it into his own complete definition in just one short clip. That's some fantastic acting

The relationship between Batman and the Joker is perhaps the best dynamic out of any superhero story. There is a codependency to their conflicted relationship. For the Joker, the game is everything.. and without having Batman, there is no other game worth while. For Batman’s perspective, the Joker is the only villain that remains a complete mystery. He doesn’t understand why, but there is a mutual need for each other.
One of my favorite lines from TDK, “This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets and unmovable object.” The pair can’t live with each other and can’t live without each other.

While this scene is amazing I think it's obvious why it was cut. For starters it's the Joker. The moment you introduce him everyone else gets sidelined no matter how little screen time he has. But also because in this scene the Joker completely deconstructions the Riddler's character in five minutes which takes all the mystique and interest in the Riddler away.

When i first saw the movie i was quite pleased, since it's well crafted and stuff... But overnight my estimation towards it plummeted when i realized it was Seven ala Batman, same as The Joker being a Taxi Driver rip off. Not bad, since i'm grateful towards Joaquín Phoenix and this riddler, but they fell short once noticing the tremendous performances and story development made by Kevin Spacey (John doe on Seven) and De Niro (Travis Bickle on Taxi Driver). It's kinda sad this movies can't give a more singular rendition, even considering the comics story development standards, but now portraying this Joker kinda Lecter, you kidding me... Your comment s spot on bro. The movie s not trash but it isnt that competitive for the trained eye. We ll see if it shut our mouths in the future with sequels and stuff. Bottom line, new queen with an old dress doesnt seem a viable gimmick nowadays. Granted the creators are backed by the fans of the comics and previous movies. Good, enjoyable but not groundbreaking the morning after. Hope they find their edge and create a game changer next time.

The psychology of the camera work plays a huge part in making this version of the Joker so riveting. As a viewer, you're trying to see him, trying to understand what he looks like, but it's always out of focus, or he's filmed from behind. Brilliant. Its like an even more sinister take on Heath Ledger's 'realistic' Joker and incorporates all the best parts from the other versions.
Probably my favourite interpretation of the character so far. Hope we see more.

The shift in the tone of the conversation at 3:30 and the disappointment in Joker's voice as he says "Have you read this file?" and slams the folder shut (3:35)... to me that's the Joker that's the scariest: when he's clear-minded yet frustrated when things aren't going as planned.

I loved the Bale movies but there’s just something about how calm Pattinson’s Batman is throughout most of this that gives me more of an impression of a Batman that the Joker would actually respect and enjoy talking to

Bale wasn’t really good as Batman or Bruce. He’s a great actor but never fit the part .
I’d say Val Kilmer is one of the best. He also played a straight faced thinker and had a good batman voice .
Despite the campy movie he had a lot of good moments in there.
Val Kilmer played batman and Bruce Wayne perfectly . Although this version of Batman is better than the others too, not a big fan of his Bruce Wayne tho. Much too gothic, can’t really see his version polish up in the future either

There's a couple moments there in his performance that really look like he was drawing inspiration from Heath.
4:10 - That delivery. The breathy drawn-out dialogue. The lip-smacking. Barry is definitely taking some cues from HL.

Next someone is going to tell me that he took inspiration from joker from the comics because he's "acting kinda crazy". Like no shit lmao
