    We bought a used one (2005 model) about 8 years ago for $7000. The new one is not much different. Ours gets used every year and has been reliable and very useful. There are many used ones out there that can save you a huge amount of money. The new price is just crazy high.

      @@DayHikerFromTheSix Just to be clear. Our trailer has had it's share of repairs and updates, but that is to be expected when a trailer gets some years and miles on it. Still way cheaper than $58.000 for a new one. Our friends bought a new leftover Thor class c motor home for $59,995. That is a trailer and a new truck! Just saying. I like what you are doing, but the industry is starting to price the average buyer out of the market. When we bought our used Trailmanor a dealer offered to sell us a new one for a little over $24,000. I don't know about you, but my income has not more than doubled in 8 years. I do wish you luck though.

      @@bobbydill6388 Yeah.. the prices are outrageous... like cars, I would only buy slightly used and let the original buyer take the hit... if I can get a 2020 for $25K.... that is a no brainer over this sucker for $58K!

      Wow! That old and it’s still reliable. I was going to go with an ALiner A-Frame or Chalet A-Frame and now I’m intrigued by this company/style. Much more space. Any cons? I only have 19 1/2 feet depth in my garage. And we HAVE to keep this in our garage (HOA rule). Are these too long?

    Note about the Laveo Dry Flush toilet… It doesn’t incinerate waste, it vacuum seals and compresses it. Then, like you said, you change the cartridge after X number of flushes. Doesn’t use any water.

      @@DayHikerFromTheSix The price, I'd imagine. It's really high, and they seem to cheap out on some things. You lose 80 watts of solar if you don't buy the sport model? That's like $50-100 of panels on a $58k RV, it's surprising that he called it out specifically because it makes me wonder where else they're cutting costs.

    This is a really cool trailer. I like the aluminum construction and it's a great concept. However, if you're going to pull this off road at all, independent suspension is really necessary to keep it from bouncing all over.

    • @DayHikerFromTheSix
      @DayHikerFromTheSix  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      It has a torsion axle, which is independent! It’s not a full on control arm setup, so it’s not a rock crawler, but I think it’s be OK for light off-roading. It’s too long to be a rock crawler: departure angle would be a problem. Thanks for watching!

    These are great for towing behind an EV truck. A lot of the range hit on an EV. Also most EV trucks have serious power the camper can plug into so no need to carry an extra generator for a weekend getaway. Good solution for a specific use case.

      @shanedenmark5536 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Fridge vents on the side wall are covered during travel. HOWEVER:
      The classic models with the 3-way fridge have a 12VDC (battery) mode for travel, so you’re not running the propane. Sport models are equipped with a 12VDC compressor fridge. All models have a fan in the floor of the fridge compartment and a duct to pull hot air out of the compartment and vent through the floor.
      So yes, you can have a cold fridge while rolling down the road!

    It's called a wrap around weld , I do these all the time when programming robots to weld .
    It's a really nice setup from the old 70's popup we used to use with the arms you push up and springs, I get that Trail Manor is trying to fit 32 feet of trailer into a small package that a smaller pickup or large SUV could easily tow without any complicated hitches and truck upgrades . This innovation comes with a hefty price tag unfortunately, this unit is for the weekend warrior who gets an E-mail Thursday night saying they don't have to work the weekend. They can book a small camp site last minute and go, where people like me have to book months in advance to get a large enough site. I tend to live in my trailer full time for work and this setup would not be for me, too much setup and tear down for my liking, also to many gaps for winter camping.
    The thing that I really don't understand and is a big turn off for me is going with white everywhere. This is not just Trail Manor this is a lot of trailers, when we were shopping for a toy hauler all of the trailers had almost everything white. Toy haulers are expected to have dirty people occupying them with dirt bikes and side by sides and other things that get accumulations of dirt on them.
    If you are going to be moving into a retirement trailer and your considered a senior citizen, the odds of getting grubby hands on anything will be slim to none. When you have a young family with kids that like to get dirty and touch everything or like me constantly repairing and upgrading the trailer your hands will get dirty fast.

    interesting idea and concept but i feel like it has too many areas of breakage the key to camping is to have your system work when you need it to i dont want to have a spring break and cant raise a section when its down pouring outside. But neat very neat i just dont trust all those moving parts and walls.

    I spent years building RVs and mobile homes, as well as toting them.
    While I think the collapsible concept is good for some people, where this bumper trailer fails is:
    Single axles are dangerous. One blow out and you will likely wreck, if driving faster than 45mph. Even if you manage not to wipe out the rig, the potential damage risk to the blowout side is great.
    And second, that hitch is ridiculous. And very dangerous. Never never Never pull a trailer with a tongue that can be broken down, whether with bolts or a hinge.
    If it's Not one solid tongue, from coupler to trailer chassis, then do not pull it. You're just asking for a tragic road mishap.
    Hinged hitches/tongues are stupid and dangerous.

      I had the same concern about single axles before I bought our single axle trailer. I added TPMS to my trailer so I can monitor tire air pressure and temperature in real time. That at least minimizes the risk and hopefully will provide a few seconds of advance warning if a tire is about to blow. Re: the coupler/tongue design, it does require some trust in the engineers and safety regulations. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Put good tires on that single axle and check pressure lug tightness and grease the bearings before each trip and you shouldn't have problems. Some people will buy a trailer and run those cheap China bomb tires they come with. In a case like that yes watch out. Our camper had Castle rocks on it when we bought it. I got rid of them within a week.

      And yet, TrailManor has been using that swing tongue for going on 30 years with no real issues.
      While I agree dual axles are better than single, have you ever had a front tire blow on your car while rolling down the interstate? Thats a whole lot more dangerous than a single axle tire failure. TrailManor has a guard over the plumbing to protect it in case of a blowout (5:52) and several owners have added protection on the door side to protect the floor. These do have a neat option called a “spare tire” in case you do have a tire failure.

    Off-road tires have never made sense to me on any trailer. They don’t help any because there’s no power to them. A trailer is being pulled so they do zero good on any trailer.

      They do brake and also provide lateral traction in mud and on slick rock. For those who truly off-road their trailers, I think it makes sense. People who drive between front country campgrounds like me definitely don’t need them. Thanks for watching!

    Too much work to setup in my opinion. Who wants to do all this work after a long drive to a campground? And for what they cost, no way.
    I'd rather have my camper. Cost way less, and not including level8ng, unhitching, and plugging in, which all campers require, I only have to push one button until my slide opens, and it's setup.

    • @DayHikerFromTheSix

      I’m not a fan of generators myself (I’ve never owned one). The good news is that you can get the trailer with a 3 way fridge. For sure having a 12 volt fridge means using solar and an upgraded battery if you want to boondock. We spec’d our personal trailer with a 2 way fridge for this reason. We rarely have hookups when camping here in Ontario.
