This is exactly what my wife and I are looking for, but it doesn't need to be an overlanding trailer. Something in the range from $40K to $50K with all those features except the "ruggedness" would be perfect.
I think I'd have to go for the composting toilet...somehow hermetically sealing my poop doesn't seem environmentally friendly! Awesome trailer tho and great video!
I hear you, but I can’t blame Kimberley for positioning themselves in the Airstream price bracket. As long as there is a market for it, I think it makes sense for a small, low volume manufacturer.
@@DayHikerFromTheSixnot to mention the quality of the build like you said there's no wood in the structure only for decoration therefore the only thing that's going to deteriorate is the seals which should be easily replaced
Excellent video. I did not see the link for this dealership in the US. Can you please provide the name/company of the gentleman doing the review? thanks, enjoyed the video.
The dealer is Kimberley Kampers USA, which is the link given in the description...the trailer is manufactured by Kimberley in Australia. Thanks for watching!
beautiful, everything thought of, but it's built for the super outdoors, deer hunter type. First class but wayyy to expensive. For my needs if I wanted that type I might go tent trailer. Beautiful though. The toilet/shower is perfect
I believe some V8 4 Runners have 7000 pounds of tow capacity, so it should be a yes for those. 4 Runners with 3500 lb tow capacity are a no, and the 5000 lb rated models are also a no since the GVWR of the trailer is 5500 pounds. Thanks for watching!
Why can’t any manufacturer in the US make one of these? Very nice design - especially with solar! $130k - foreign made, no wood. Guessing this will need undercoating - maybe - but more insulation underneath… Looks good for serious off-road travel but I am not in this league…
A very good camper trailer but way to over price for a bumper pull off-road trailer. I understand marketing a new product into production has a very high cost from the start and it all even out when there's enough of consumer to keep up with the cost of production and the manufacturing of this type of product and accessories.
I kind of felt the same until I flipped over to the Airstream site and saw MSRP's close to $200K. And if you factor in all the gear (1000 Ah of batteries!, remote reservoir shocks, air suspension, solar panels everywhere, 2 fresh water tanks, etc. etc.) which is all somehow included while still keeping the weight reasonably low. Think of it as the 'Portal Axle Mercedes G-Wagon' of the travel trailer market.
@@DayHikerFromTheSix I wonder what off-road airstream they got now on market, you said airstream right, well they must have an off-road type model now for 2024. I think the price has to do because of the australian paten .
As long as there is a market and people trying to show off, price will be unreasonable. I doubt there is any other country in the world who has a market for these toys. Here in America things are changing rapidly, the middle class is getting smaller as days goes by, but who knows there is always those who has too much money and no that mutch sense . I wonder what's the cost involve building one.
??? There is an inside kitchen, as well as an outside kitchen. It's great as I love cooking outside, but if the weather is bad you could still go inside to cook. Great overlanding camper!
It's nice to see a man who understands sales. Good job. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😀 Thanks for watching!
Incredible! And I love that it has indoor and outdoor kitchens. Perfect for cooking in any weather with the awning.
Amazing how they fit it all in a 17’ trailer! Thanks for watching!
@@DayHikerFromTheSixanything's possible for $130,000!

Check out our full lightweight RV walkthrough playlist. There are several trailers in it that may fit the bill. Thanks for watching!

Thanks!
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it 😀
The best camper for california. If it protects you in australia its good for CA.😊🎉
Thanks for watching!
insulation doesn't just protect from cold as it also helps deflect sunshine for cooler indoor summer temps
Good point 👍 Thanks for watching!
No camper is worth 175k that is run away greed pure and simple

Super cool and everything I would love but I definitely don’t need the massive off road capabilities. Great design. I’d love a lighter duty version
You and me both! 😀 Thanks for watching!
Put your rear stability legs on side way and use battery drill , no ducking under, 20 seconds to set up
Thanks for watching!
I love this trailer. Is it towable with a 4Runner ?

@@DayHikerFromTheSix Thank you.
No
If you fold this up in a rain storm, will the inside get all wet?
No, it's a proven design and the inside is protected with the outside structure. Thanks for watching!
@@DayHikerFromTheSix but the process of folding up, includes the sides of the bed area going inside the trailer.

Then go out in the bush.
A Marine with crowding issues?!?
Id rather spend 50 grand on this than any midwest built crap shack.❤😂
We wish it was 50k! This model as you see it is 130k USD. But we see your point 😀
Checkout the Rockwood HiLo Campers. Better still look for used versions. A 2005 in good shape hasnt hardly changed & they go for about $5000
Thank you for sharing. Thanks for watching!
For that price you can purchase a much bigger trailer
True, but you don't get the top of the line off road package. Thanks for watching!

Far too expensive
It’s a luxury product, like a Porsche or an Airstream. But, yup, that means it is expensive.
Lol, good luck!
Call triple A, not where I go in the USA stopped watching as soon as you mentioned that.
Thanks for giving it a try! Cheers!
nearly big enough for a rat and 3 times the price of a real caravan, they went broke in australia for a while as they were so overpriced

This guy speaks nonsensically. If your trailer breaks down you can die?
Keep in mind he's talking about camping in Australia's outback. Very different from North America 😀 Thanks for watching!
