From putting solar panels on the roof of the White House to pioneering the growing of Empress (Paulownia) trees...which happens to be the wood Duff's guitar is made from in the video. Enjoy!

It warms my heart to see 2 people I look up to paying tribute to President Carter. I admire his honor and commitment to honesty. I admire the ceaseless work he and Roselyn have done with the Carter center since he left office.
I love that a lot of the old metal cats are going country/folk. As a fella about the same age as these dudes who grew up on thrash and hardcore. I started playing folk and outlaw country stuff about 20 years ago and to be honest, these days I pick up my acoustic probably 20-30 times for every time I plug in. Nice job gents and if you haven't given Duff's most recent album a listen, please do. "Last September" is just a killer track!

Yes...After Jimmy Carter, Reagan came in and arts N music Programs were cut back...My father, a music teacher, was mad at Reagan for that....I remember my sister K, who is like Jerry’s age was in musical productions, but that all changed when I got to high school...I was too shy anyway..lol PS Last nite, I had dream of Duff and Susan McK...And a lyric from AIC....

Jerry .I had a father that was a 1MED Marine in the DMZ in Denang in 68.
The effects of war and his subsequent combat injuries (losing his legs )haunted him until he passed away 13 years ago .
I can certainly attest to the ravaging effects of war on the family and the inter generational effects as well . This is further exacerbated in the literal fall out of defoliating agents, and their neurotoxicity .
Jerry, when I heard Rooster for the first time back in the 90’s , I finally got that I wasn’t alone in this child of a Vietnam Vet thing . It moved me . I’m now part of The VVMF. If you want to honor your fathers memory in Washington on the honor wall, check out the site . You just need his DD214 and a little paper work .
