Maybe he's considered underrated by guitar geeks because he is actually concerned about writing great songs rather than light speed solos that make the prog rockers drool. Jerry C. is one of the nicest guys in music. He doesn't cow tow to interviewers, but he's straight up honest, and humbly truthful. The successes of AIC are due to a large part of Jerry's Accessibility and down to earth personality. When I lived in Seattle during the decade of the 1990's about half the most successful bands were from that area and all these guys were cool, approachable and thankful for their fans. I'll add Eddie Vedder & Pearl Jam, and Candle box to the list. Why did I leave out Nirvana? Nirvana was Wondrously talented , but not always nice guys Kurt had some huge issues that impacted Dave & Chris' roles.

      Terrance Hill Yeah after the success of nevermind, Kurt had them change the deal from 33% each to Kurt with 70% and the rest split with the other guys. Plus, it was retroactive, so they had to give a bunch of money back to Kurt. I was a huge fan and was devastated when he died, but I don't think many fans knew yet that he was a narcissist.

    Kahler gets too much hate their great for thrash and death metal can dive bomb like a floyd but you can go up in pitch much more easier then a floating floyd and to me they just are a bit smoother feel. The one thing I will give a floyd that Kahler don't really do as well is flutters but to each their own, I got no beef with either and wouldn't let a kahler scare me away and the only gripe is that not many techs are as experienced so there is times you may need to send it in to Kahler for maintenance and repair. Can't wait for the epiphone version of his wino custom. The Gibson version was pretty sick. Don't have 8 or 9 grand but 800 is doable. Will see if they go VOS with it.

    I have so much respect for guys who just get the job done with working man's gear. And he's such a nice guy and a class act, and he's both a masterful guitarist and musician.
    But - and I might get hosed for saying this - Rooster just never sounds right when he plays it live, and IMO those newer digital Boss choruses simply don't have the guts for it. With some kind of CE1-based chorus and an Ada Flanger or something, it oughtta come out in spades; why doesn't he go for it? That ominous electric warble is such an immediately recognizable and unique staple of AIC.
    ...I mean am I the only one who hears it? Does it sound spot on to others when he plays it? Maybe I'm nuts.

    I have one of those Ground Control Pro units like shown at very end of video.... too complicated to figure out reason I don't use mine..... lol I play without amps 99% of the time on electric guitars... But, that's about to change once I break out my new to me JC Tribute Rampage out of the box that just arrived UPS

    Jerry is one of the coolest and nicest guitar players i ever had the pleasure to hang with. Both our bands were staying at the same hotel in Atlanta back in 200? ... a very memorable night! I got to hang out and get drunk with one of the best American rock guitar players of all time. (well, I got drunk anyway haha)

    Jerry was standing at the center bar by himself at The Hard Rock in LV a couple of hours before the show in Dec '09, we were like 'holy shit that's Jerry'. We didn't bug him. They opened with Rain When I Die that night.

    he is a UNIT i always looked up to those guys that really bring the set every time. soloing slow but every note hits in the black.. For me he is in a line with guys like Leslie West. Still when i watch AIC concerts i forget about where the sound comes from. Thats how good they are, a trio basically.

    @GoHabs13 Same here, man. I can't imagine someone touching my equipment on stage at all. My drummer has done that when he plays my guitar and I can say I have gotten back at him with his drums :D

    I need help determining a new set of pickups for my Jackson.. I like to play metal and i like that high gain sound but i also really like the steve vai sort of sound too. Can someone suggest pickups for me please?

    So stoked to see that Jerry uses a lot of the gear that I use. I was the guy that turned most of my friends onto this band.
    If you rode in my car, you listened to what I was into. This was before the Dirt album. Love this band !

    the only real plus is that they are finally working on squier versions of fender offset models and the tele deluxe but they lowered the quality of the bodies by far i guess they are experimenting though... charvels guitar line doesn't even make sense anymore they work on more limited edition models than anything else... and thestock models include another fender les paul knockoff and a fender prs knockoff... they stopped the san dimas and so cal models too... though bringing back the star was a+

    and the new 5150 III is shit because its from fender and fender destroyed the whole jackson guitar company by cancelling contracts and removing the whole upper mid class made in japan guitar series. now there are only china/india crap guitars with microwaved dried woods and some few indonesia made ones. reliable and good but for that price of a mij upper mid class? NO! at least theyre made in the same factory and by the same end control people as the ibz s and premium series. thats the only plus

  • @c4tze
    @c4tze 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    not only the new one. mainly the real 5150 but with a warm bias and proper tubes. the stock one is really crap because peavey does an extremely low/cold bias to make the tubes not die within the time of warranty. just as a proof and make sure that no one will ever send his amp within this time back and wants peavey to change the tubes or even a new amp. but thats completely okay, i understand that. to get the real 5150 sound its more than just getting a 5150. its at least biasing and maybe tubin

    Many guitarist don't normally go for the single p/u setup. But when I really think about it, how often do you use the neck p/u? I flip it on occasionally when I remember to but it's only because it's there. Unless you play something dramatically different from song to song, it usually stays on the bridge. If you need a completly different sound, grab another guitar that's setup for that piece.

  • @ralfcaetano
    @ralfcaetano 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    you are aware of the jackson pro series right??? that sounds like what you're asking for... the only companies fender ever ruined to an extent was squier and charvel... squier lost all of its original models (cyclone, 51, supersonic, etc) and limited finish options for the only original models the tele custom and jagmaster... not to mention they screwed the vintage modified series over to an extent changing the cedar bodies to basswood ruined my favorite guitar... it is a sub brand though...

    @ComaAlpha probably referring to his Les Pauls. he has two of them so i'm assuming each one is tuned to the song. you can also see that he uses the SG for No Excuses. the E and D marks are probably the G&L's. Each one of his guitars is tuned and intonated to that tuning so that they sound perfect and pristine. i started doing it with my guitars and it's just alot easier and it sounds fuckin amazing. i highly recommend this to any guitarist in a band that has multiple tunings for their sets.

    FUCK YEAH!!! JC is an AWESOME guy... AND he has a Tele Deluxe in his rack... far and away the coolest guitar he's got there...BUT I am QUITE boased when it comes to TD's... that's what I play exclusively now and I think they're the best guitar I've ever had my hands on. Course I've never gotten my hands on a Languadoc so... I like how down to earth and cool JC is in this interview. Makes him seem like a REAL person, not some fake persona like so many guys of the "new rock' crowd... pure legend

    @sfh113 alnico pro2 neck position is a fucking badass pickup for melodic and warm suff.. cleans and leads sound incredible and you can totally tell the difference from other pickups (i had dimarzio tone zones before... then a 59 and then the alnico.. it's really amazing dude check it out)... and on the bridge i have a duncan custom... it's a high output pickup but not like over the top, but still can put some decent amount of punch in low gain amps and stuff... cool stuff
