Real real MVP here! At the moment I love color mixing and finding out what new colors I can create on my own. My love for loose florals was alive on my channel for a while but I too fell into that box and stopped creating. I'm just now beginning to get out and make myself with my Art no matter who watches or how many likes/views it gets. My favorite mediums are W&N watercolors first, W&N Gouache 2nd, & their W&N Watercolor Pencils & Colored Pencils 3rd.

I purchased my watercolor like a set of color pencils. I chose White Nights and purchased all of their single pigments except Claret. With some strategic purchases, I also ended up with a few convenience colors. Then suddenly, White Nights were barely available. I looked at Roman Szmal for future replacements but discovered more single pigments. I used your link last week to purchase a bunch of pans of Roman Szmal and some other stuff. I get my stuff from Jackson's here in the US quicker than Blick with less shipping. Oil pastels are my favorite medium.

All of the floral paintings you shared in the video are beautiful, but I have to say I’m quite taken by the loose florals with the line work… love that piece! As for my favourite medium and subject? I’d have to say it’s watercolour landscapes. I shift between working loosely or aiming for a more “realistic” style. I bought several tubes of gouache at the end of the summer but I haven’t opened them yet! I need to have time to focus on learning a new medium and life “blew up” this fall and got very busy. I’ve just gotten some Roman Szmal paints and they are amazing! I mostly just got my favourite type of colours, purples and turquoises. However are there some more basic colours that you would recommend? Also just in general if there’s any in particular you think would be good in a set. I do have that mineral violet you raved about 😂 also I do think you should paint what you want as it’s your art and you should be happy making it not feeling like you have to do something in particular cause of the algorithm. ❤️

So the algorithm says gouache landscapes are more popular or get more views? it seems not more than a few years ago, watercolor florals were the more popular thing, but I am not a youtube creator, just someone who enjoys trying to try different mediums, or just watch others create whatever they like to create. Is the increased interest in gouache landscapes somewhat new? I love absolutely love them, as well as other mediums,but could never find that many doing gouache. I'm happy just watching people paint, and share some thoughts & techniques to help us beginners to even have an idea of how to start to learn a new medium or hobby that would be so much more impossible without you tubers helping us choose supplies, and offer some guidance in exploring or starting our art journey. I love your florals!

I love the floral set you painted. I would much rather watch videos of an artist painting what they love, in their own style, than every artist painting what "they" say is the style of the moment. Would anyone want to watch Rembrandt and Picasso paint like Monet because his work sold better that week? Would they be proud of that work? I think not. You do you!!

The backgrounds really work for your florals! These are such stunning examples. Usually they are just on a white blank background but the vivid, bright backgrounds are actually way better and make me curious why that doesn't happen more often! They remind me of the rich, colourful vibes of Eastern European floral decorations so just perfect to use Roman Szmal for them

I used to scrapbook now I make cards. I have been watercolor painting for a year or two, just playing and having fun! Flowers, leaves and abstract painting is my favorite! After watching your videos I ordered some RS paints, and should be receiving them any day now! I can't wait to play!! 😊

I have actually used watercolor as an underpainting for gouache and really love how the work together.

I love all most brand’s Quin Gold, but then I tried DS Aussie Red Gold and was blown away. To me it was even more vivid and glowing than Quin Gold.

Wow! This couldn’t have happened to a better person! I love watercolor and paint whatever strikes my fancy ( which I hope you continue to do, too). Right now, I’m painting florals. Capturing anything beautiful is what brings me joy!
For now, I'm enjoying using both watercolors and gouache on my pieces. Maybe that's me being indecisive, but they work so well together. Your watercolor florals are delightful! It's always a pleasure to see you create.

I’m currently hooked on gouache, but you’re making me want to revisit watercolor. I have actually used watercolor as an underpainting for gouache and really love how the work together.
What a beautiful gift! One thing I have observed over the last few years is that being yourself and doing the thing that makes you happy will get people more interested long term than catering to the algorithm. So, do what you like!
