    ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Margot and I am a professional artist and graphic designer. My parents like to joke that I was born with a paintbrush in hand. I started my career after graduating from the renown Parsons School of Design in New York City and spent over 15 years creating and designing for many of the world's top Fortune 500 brands and companies. My painting journey started as a side project and a creative outlet for me to step away from the computer, go back to my "roots" in fine art and to hone my skills as an illustrator and painter. I started posting some of my work on instagram and the rest is history. My work is inspired by all the things that I am passionate about. Ballet, travel, graphic design, color and finding a world of beauty in all facets of everyday life. I hope you'll join me in this TH-cam journey as I take you through all the tips, tricks and trade secrets I've gathered throughout the years. I hope I can teach you some of what I know, help you discover your creative voice and I hope you enjoy this Channel!

I watch a fair number of watercolor TH-camrs, and inevitably, one of two things happens. The author burns out and says...I can't do this anymore. Or, the channel turn formulaic (and dull).
The answer is...do what makes *you* feel comfortable. We all appreciate your hard work and realistically can't pressure you to do more than you are able, or want to do. Once a month is good, twice a month is nice, too. Whatever you decide, we will be charmed when you decide to post. I would rather see you making videos that you enjoy, than have you post for the sake of posting.

Also, YT isn’t your bread and butter so IMHO I don’t think it should take so much time. YT should fit around your schedule and you also need downtime for yourself. ❤

I watch to a lot of art/watercolor channels, I'm subscribed to a few ones, and this one feels different from the others: I find it relaxing, inspiring and encouraging to be bolder, to be braver. I've never painted a single ballerina in life, but I just love to see you painting yours. Art is about freedom, so you must follow what makes you feel this way. Not a problem if a video takes longer to be published, in the end what matters is that everyone - specially you - feel inspired. Love your videos ❤

Thank you for the exceptional videos that you have already made and for those that you will make in the future. They are a gold mine of information filled with both practical information about techniques and fascinating bits of history and biography presented with your inimitable charm and wit. I enjoy each one, while appreciating your high "production values" and the effort required to produce each video. They are elegant. As you say, videography is an art in itself, and a glimpse behind the scenes shows all the hidden work you have done. If you have been using Adobe Premiere Pro to edit your videos, let me extend my deepest sympathies. 😅

When I saw the title of this video, I was like 'Gasp! She's leaving!'. After watching I was wiping forehead, phew! Margot, I have read the comments so far, we are all with you, you need to do what you need to do. Don't know how you manage it all as it is. You need to concentrate on your family and business. You are still going to be here, and that is great, don't apologise. It would be a shame if you wasn't getting pleasure if you felt 'forced' in a way to produce videos. You just do what suits you. We'll just be glad to see you when you can and not judge. xx

I love it!! That's what we all want right...to learn...to grow...to spread our own wings and fly! I'm still a baby watercolor artist. I've been at it for 2 solid years, at times I feel like art is just flowing out of me, and it great, looks super professional and then all of the sudden it stop and flops as if I have forgotten everything I learned up to that point. I suppose sometimes I start over thinking it too much, but I can't get myself out of it. Is this normal? What can I do to help keep my art flowing? I loved your last cooking with watercolor it was so great! I can't wait to see what you come up with next...no pressure!

Hello! In the beginning of this video you listed a few things that you had hoped this channel would become…and in fact, you have already achieved your entire list…you are informative, enjoyable, creative, encouraging and much more to so many of us. In fact I do NOT think at all that you are trying to create thousands of clones of yourself or of your art. In fact,. You seem to intentionally encourage us to explore our own paths. I’m not a person who often comments to video you tube stars…but I felt compelled to let you know that your viewers feel that you are achieving your goals and we are benefiting richly, whatever the frequency of video creation aligns with your life, we will be grateful. I do sincerely appreciate you and thank you for contributing to my art journey and my self confidence

I’m saying a lot of my artists that I follow finally doing this now, not listening to the TH-cam algorithm and maybe producing their videos less often but still the same quality and they know that their viewers that love them. Don’t care if we have to wait we’re not going anywhere. Would we like a video once a week or every day of course but we also know the reality of the situation. Not to mention and I think everyone would agree with me here being a mum comes first before and above everything else.

Margot, hello from France which is now totally absorbed in the rugby World Cup! But I picked up my Gouash paints yesterday and have been totally absorbed in your channel for the last couple of months too! I am a returner to art after 35 years having done nothing but always look at nature,I’m actually a biologist, teacher too, and think I must paint this! So here I am. you are so inspiring and have a delightful persona and you make it feel doable again. Post when it feels good for you and not something you feel you have to do. It has to be a Joy for you too😊. You are so real and I am going to invest in water colours too! I must look at your recommendations for a beginner! Have a great day, Bon Journée as they say here !

I enjoy your channel for you and the unique content, perspective, and expertise that you share. You have a wealth of knowledge and I get excited when you mention tidbits from school, your graphic design career that are relevant, or your love of art history. There are so many "how to get started" videos or "how to paint...xyz" videos available on your channel that people can still go back and watch old videos. Or they can watch them on other channels. But I get excited for your fun content...and I will gladly wait for them. You are a joy to watch. Thanks Margot!

The most important thing is to be true to yourself and you shouldn't apologize to us for whatever course you decide for your channel. I enjoy your videos partly because they're fun to watch and I'm ok with having two videos in a month instead of one every week. This way you'll have more energy and time to get more ideas and we'll enjoy your videos even more (by the way, I like the direction that you decided to head for). Keep doing what you're doing, in the way that you want to do it, and let the rest of us enjoy! Have fun!

We’ll be waiting with bated breath, Margot! The art community needs someone like you to spread this exact concept! I came to the watercolor world very recently from the calligraphy community here on TH-cam ( phenomenal group of people with indescribable talent and class). The instructors who have tutorials and paid courses always made a huge point of explaining the importance of learning from them, but not in order to develop a script that is indistinguishable to theirs or anyone else’s, but to allow our own unique personalities shine through our work! The concept may be scary at first for some, but it was that “permission” to infuse “me” into my work that set me free. It empowered me to feel I had something worth sharing and took off the pressure of “cloning” someone else’s work because they were better at it. That was a gift that I will always be grateful for. I know it’s the only reason I had the nerve to trying painting at all! So, IMH opinion, you’re a leader who isn’t deterred by doing things differently! I’m looking so forward to it!
You’ll surely think I’m crazy, but I had to include this picture😂! I just got back from Texas where my daughter just had her third child since July of 2020! I naturally offered any help I could and when I went to change my new granddaughter’s diaper, I just had to laugh! I immediately thought of you when I saw the diaper, lol! How sweet! I have 7 children from 41 years old down to 17 years old and I can assure you, diapers I used never looked like these!
How typical for me!! I dont see how I can upload a picture😩

My favorite video is the Matisse-inspired one. I have done 6 versions and will do more. Yes, it was YOU holding the brush , but Matisse was there too, and each one of us doing her/his interpretation. I learned a lot from you, and about Matisse, and the result felt personal. I would love to see do some other "in the style of" tutorials, but before that, take a break! We all want you to stay happy and healthy.

Margot… I love your channel and how you present talk and share your talent❣️ But mostly, I appreciate that creativity takes creativity. Meaning doing things a bit different from day to day. Routine of regular painting or housework requires doing the tasks in different ways and not as though we are machines🥰😇😍 we are creations meant to create to be creators and to BE in that creation of BE-ing🎨💅🏼👩‍🎨🖌️🖼️❤🌸💕❣️❣️❣️Do “it” your way….. love is the way …. I’m so glad to have found your channel due to my appreciation of the individual uniqueness of artists/people. Isn’t it great we were created that way. 💓💓💓I’m not watching your videos to be only inspired or entertained BUT also to learn… I rewatch many of your videos as I am inspired to step into my passion and natural creativity. I can only discover my pleasure when I do it my way too❤

i think fewer videos is wonderful! you are a real, working, artist, person!! YOU need to come first!! i am learning so much from you, i really appreciate you! i have actually cut back on watching other youtubers who just produce too much to keep up with!! they act like they are the only producer we are watching!! NO NO NO ....i love 'surfing' from presenter to presenter!! so much is available, but i just cant watch it ALL!! good for you to do this, and even more so for you to tell us how you FEEL.....just, please dont quit!! i love the learning so much!! you are kind, and knowledgeable, and loving and sharing!! i was already subbed, but now i am hitting the bell too!! because, i know the bell will take me to interesting, entertaining, and educational content!! i have a college degree in art and communication, but sustained a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and i am trying to learn my art all over again. just the basics now, but i am told it is very good for my recovery process. please, dont leave us (me) completely, but dont overwhelm yourself and burn out. hugs and caring to you!!thank you!

As a life coach, I encourage my clients who begin to doubt their direction, that they focus on doing at least one thing that 1) gives you energy 2) brings you peace and 3) makes a difference. Having a YT channel is a tremendous amount of work (been there done that!) and I became personally dispassionate about it that I quit doing videos. I didn’t follow my own advice! 😫 I’m happy you’re doing your thing- and being a great teacher and making a difference… I’ve learned so much watching your tutorials!❤

Dear God I was petrified when I first saw this video come out, merely an after after you posted it. I couldn't dare bring myself, dare in capital letters mind you, to bring myself to watch what I thought was going to be you or goodbye- sort of I need a electronic detox social detox, you're never going to see me again thing. Trust me, I've worked in the operating room most of my life and the amount of times I have heard those words I just aformentioned, "I need a digital detox" , are unfathomably high... practically - Infinity -
At this point I hear it everyday every second Sumner's I can't even bother I'm deleting my Facebook account yeah I'm just going to eat toilet paper and my leftovers Chanel scarves for dinner and you might find me in Alaska off grid. Pooping Haute Couture, etc.
I'm wondering, what the f happened to this person. I jest of course. Seriously, I waited till before bed at 2 a.m. after getting home from an on-call shift emergency craniotomy that's fun, truly. But I thought I don't want to have bad news in the morning I'll take it at night so I decided to watch this. To my surprise my lovely, I wholeheartedly agree with you. And I see where that Journey well I can empathize where that Journey would come from, my mother said I was always very Libra psychic she would say and that's sort of true I'm not just sympathetic I'm a messy empathetic person all the way. Trust me it'll wreck you LOL.
Quick side note - I'm doing voice to text and I'm tired of correcting the things that aren't coming out right so if anything further is screwed up I wholeheartedly apologize I do my dear. But I am so tired and I can no longer hand type and I am almost Delirious to boot no sleep promise 24 hours, the hospital life is grueling
Well you know I'm new to that your Club Margo and I was just about in tears when I thought of shoot she's going to quit on me she's going to do the digital detox and I'll never see from her again and obviously were not next door neighbors however like you said, quotes TH-cam is an art all itself quotes. And I someone who used to dabble in Adobe Photoshop or the simple simple adobe's of the 2004s let's say- even back then the program was complicated without TH-cam tutorials all over the place and this and that it takes a long time to do that and plus having kids and as you say to sidegig businesses and whatnot. I'm rambling because it's late and the adrenaline's running, I need a copy or a, Klonopin, pain combo therefore in. I just want you to end this real quick by saying you are at least you feel like and I'm going to stay there for you are to me exactly what I was looking for in somebody who is in this realm of type of videos I like to watch online with have tea have coffee, I don't drink but I guess if I did I would be watching this with a I don't know something fruity I'm sure LOL but cheaper now that's fine and I would be and the comfort of my own people, of what you are my own people for sure we would have been best friends since elementary school I can guarantee you this. So therefore you still are we are best friends okay I promise you. Taking comfort also in the fact that you will be around with new and enthusiastic, funny cuz you are quite funny I love how you don't edit out the the the screw-ups might say screw-ups but down the club ups and in the in the script so to speak you leaving then that's hilarious I love stuff like that oh, and you're going to kill it with the new stuff I just can't wait we have to find a name like you saying like we came up but you came up with listen to me like we came up with like you came up with the the, SWATCHA+VAGANZA.
Margolites....maybe. I like it. And from me to you, luv... XOXO and je'taime

I hear you and so appreciate it. I enjoy you very much and I'm sad you're cutting bad to less but I appreciate it. Esp the part of being honest and admitting that you're not trying to make more Margots. And thinking of your family life a 1 year old can keep you very busy, then the terrible 2s 😂. Love you and thanks for the heads up. Keep up the great work and can I borrow your A Gallos😅 I do have around 30+ but going to get a few more that you showed when u watched them. Although I think the Roman Szmals are fantastic also and I hear he's coming out w/new colors? I thought for a minute u were going you spill coffee an yourself.

Suggestion/ how about a question session once a month or once every 2 months / maybe people don’t want to wait that long for an answer / I am 83 years young next month. Dec baby 1940, can you imagine ! Another idea. People introduce themselves and share their birthdate. You then find a watercolour artist from that time period and talk about something interesting about that painter ex their choice of colours or their style. Etc ! Just a couple of ideas. Since you like structure coming up with a limited pallot( topics) might help you find the task easier.

Mixed media has a wide range of definitions. Go for it. You do what you love doing. Change is good and fresh. Yes, stuck, shackle, yeh, those are the words and add repetitive. Same oh, same oh. You wanna change it up, no prob. Watching your channel is fun. I've unsubscribed to channels that teach the same ole style of art. Creativity is different ideas. That's just me. Got for it!
