Each weekend that I travel to a different city I try to pack in as many fun and interesting attractions as possible. To showcase how easy and cheap it can be to see the country, I do not take any time off of work (I have to work a full 40 hours on each side of the weekend). Additionally, I use a couple money saving techniques like couch surfing and kayak explore. This weekend I am in Dallas, and here is my itinerary:
1) Spirit/DART
2) Farmer's Market (Free)
3) Christmas Parade (Free)
4) Thanksgiving Square (Free)
5) Pioneer Park (Free)
6) Fountain Place (Free)
7) Klyde Warren Park ($10.71 for lunch)
8) Dallas World Aquarium (Some Free Exhibits)
9) 6th Floor Museum ($16)
10) Continental Bridge Park (Free)
11) The Foundry ($12 Drinks/Food)
12) Medieval Times ($46.79 Entertainment/Food/Drinks)
13) All Good Cafe ($6 Food)
14) Deep Ellum (Free)
15) Cafe Brazil ($4.32 Coffee)
16) Trolley (Free)
17) Truck Yard ($2.66 Ice Cream)
18) Greenville Avenue (Free)
19) Top Golf ($31.07 Entertainment/Food/Drinks)
20) Galleria (Free - Shopping/Ice Skating $)
21) Cousins BBQ ($7.35 Food)
Lived here my whole life and I’m still finding new spots and places to go in Dallas. Not a bad start with having only 46 hours to squeeze in some good stops and food along the way.
Although Dallas is growing by the minutes and that downtown Dallas is already different now with more to see. You guys did a great job. I cant believe a few haters gave it the thumb down. Great job guy!
Thanks for listing everything out! I just moved to Dallas and have been trying to explore as well.
Twenty attractions for one hundred and eighty dollars is amazing. I loved the way you told your story with the map and videos. So glad you liked Dallas.
+Sandra Kent Yeah, I can't even believe that! Just 180 bucks for each.
Pretty cool video.. ive been looking at a move from NYC to Dallas so it was nice to see some of the spots to hang out and learn to explore the city. Thanks for sharing.
Headed to Dallas in August...Thx for the Awesome Preview Video!
nex time you come to Dallas let us know, you all welcome to our home Sr. ;)
Thanks for the video 🎦. I love Dallas and have been four time since spring of last year, the last time was in July. Learned a lot about some of the places I have yet to visit. I had no idea about Pioneer Square, I have seen the sixth St
Depository but didn't get to go in , but did see the Kennedy memorial when I was there in July of last year.I have been passed, both Medieval Times and Reunion tower but haven't been up to the observation deck. Dallas has,my So. Cal.heart . Thanks again for the video
God bless, enjoy your weekend to Dallas, it was very nice.
Very well planned trip! There is more to do here, but you made the best of your time and money. You might be the next Rick Steves, who does the Europe trip planning guides.
This was a great, cool and amazing video , Very well done guys, And while i have considered on moving to Houston , this and a few other videos on Dallas and one on Austin kind of have me thinking otherwise.
+Tony Jackson I have family that lives in Houston and the one thing I hear them complain about most is the traffic! The below site actually ranks Houston as slightly better than Dallas though: archive.boston.com/business/gallery/mostcongestedcities?pg=8
hi the graffiti art you saw of the roller coaster is not six flag is actually state fair of tx
I hear that the Texas State Fair is in the top 5 best state fairs in the country. Have you been?
Craig Reviews I have its so packed
Craig its amazing
Cool video! I myself was born in Minnesota but raised in Texas and have lived in the in the Dal/Ft.Worth area the last 15yrs. It would've been cool if y'all would've had time to go up Reunion Tower. Pretty cool view from up there. Love the video!
Thank you so much for responding it is a great help, in planning coordinating our trip. Have a wonderful day 👍☺☺
I am going to Dallas for a few days on an around the world trip. The video was great, well done
***** Hope it helps you find a few fun places to see! Good luck with your trip!
tejano151 it's nw of downtown
I think this is an amazing idea, and something I'll refer to alot, once you get more cities under your belt. I love the idea of disappearing on a weekend adventure, and hope to start being able to soon, myself!
As a Dallas-ite, ore whatever one may want to call it, I am so glad you got to make it to Deep Ellum. My stomping grounds. It has morphed over the years but for me it is the coolest place for the adult-child in all of us "adult children."
This was great! I live in Dallas and didn't even know about some of these spots. LOL Thanks for listing where you went.
Mmmm, the brownie cottage makes amazing stuff! Last year for his birthday my BF requested their blondies instead of cake. :) You guys hit a ton of awesome places!
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing the vid and your trip.
Awesome vid. Hope you guys enjoyed it. If you come back when its warmer check out White Rock Lake...you can rent canoes and stuff. Its a small lake so you dont have to worry about powerboats but if you want that there are bigger lakes in the area. Also some the best jogging and biking trails around the lake connect the whole city. Bikes are rentable nearby.. Cheers from Big D!
Next time you guys are in town go to Ft Worth you will have a good time! that's the best thing about growing up in the Dallas/Ft Worth area you have two big cities and all their suburbs plenty to do
Nicely done. Looks like you guys had fun.
Stoked that you found DART to/from the airport. If you come back, let me know, I'm happy to show you around that Dallas Startup Community. Dallas has a lot to offer - many don't know that the Main Street (downtown) has a walkscore of 96! That's a "Walker's Paradise." :)
Michael Sitarzewski I did not know that! (walkscore of 96) I am currently planning a family friendly weekend, and I will have to put this in the plan.
I really hope you did enjoy your trip to our fair city.
I enjoyed this video quite a lot :) Now I know some new places to go to on my next trip there.
Thanks!
bummer way to start the trip, but refreshing that you forgave and made the best of it.
i wanna live in texas. cost of living is so much more affordable compared to new jersey and the tristate area
I go to Dallas in April. I'll be staying in Addison-North Dallas and Downtown.
Dallas has GREAT public transport! You can do the WHOLE METROPLEX on one ticket! That's from McKinney to Fort Worth
Great video, but many forget to mention about the hidden Dallas of many retail shops and restaurants in the 3 miles of the underground pedestrian tunnel system. This is where most downtown workers and visitors mostly go in the summertime but open all year.
Dude! This was awesome. Y'all hit all the good spots. The real Dallas not that fake suburb bullshit. Great job
I'm a native of Fort Worth, but familiar with Dallas as I worked in the city for a couple years and have friends there. I could be wrong, but i believe you guys stayed your first night in a borderline sketchy part of town..lol. Come to Fort Worth next time, guarantee you'll enjoy it more than Dallas..
Dude you made me fill proud to live here. And yes winters are rare here. Still can wear shorts during the fall n winter. Sometimes...lol
For me I want to visit and explore Minneapolis.
great video ;) priceless experience!
I'm going to Dallas on the 30th of June and going to six flags so I hope we get to do stuff like this y we are there
Joshua Gloshen Six flags is in Arlington about 30 minutes west of Dallas.
Glad y'all made it out safe 🤣 stick to the tourists parts, for sure. I live within 30 miles of Dallas and I still don't go there. Couple of times to see a hockey game or a fight but that's it.
As a resident of Dallas I don't recommend Cafe Brazil because I have found crickets in a few of my dishes
Extra protein
*All Good Cafe* is amazing! *Cafe Brazil* is best around midnight :) Ya'll had a great trip. new sub ;)🎬
did you see any turantulas while you were in dallas
+greenlantern129 I did not, thankfully! If I were to have seen them anywhere it probably would have been at the hotel.
greenlantern129 lol I've lived in Texas for 30 years and have only seen one when I was like 8 years old
I actually caught one coming out of a church parking lot. It was surreal, what made you ask?
Sean Simpson always knew there were turantulas and kind of terrified by them even tho I know they are harmless was wondering if I’d find some if I’d ever move their
Hi there! I was hoping we could ask you a question.. we are planning on visiting Dallas (we're from Europe), could you perhaps help us out with the following: if we want to go to Venus TX too, where can we find the website(s) where to check for busses / trams / subways / trains that actually go to Venus from Dallas. The websites we checked out (DART and some others) say that Venus is not a destination that they go to.. Could you perhaps help us out?? Thanks so much!
Potamotrygorgeous Mäh Venus Texas is out in the country about 38 miles/ minutes south of Downtown Dallas.
it's rural, small, not much there.
There is no public transportation that goes out that far, bc there just isn't a demand & it's far.
lots of manufactured homes on flat farm/ranching land.
Only one stoplight in Venus.
isn't much to see. The only transportation I can think of is Uber or Lyft??? Maybe.
Hope this helps!
Alyssa J Thanks! The only transportation I have found so far goes to Midlothian and you'd have to take a cab from there, but I thought that maybe I wasn't looking in the right places online.
Midlothian isn't far from Venus. Have you looked into Uber?
Oh hey Craig, long time, no see! :)
Hello my family and I with some friends would like to visit dallas , I would like to know how you got to the airport to your hotel and the cost thanks you
+laucatde We took the Orange line on the DART from the airport to a stop within walking distance of our couchsurfing hosts' house ($2.50/ticket). However, as you saw, they didn't answer, so we took an Uber cab to a nearby hotel ($5 total) and ended up walking around from there. On Saturday we were with our hosts and they were nice enough to spend the day with us/drive us around. At the end of the day they brought us back to their place. On Sunday they dropped us off at a DART station (even though we had built in plans to be close enough to one) and we took the train back to the airport at $2.50/person. You can find a lot more detail on costs and such here: www.craig.reviews/a-weekend-in-dallas/
Can I use some of your footage for a high school competition
What is the competition? Email me some details and what you are looking for, and I'll see what I can do. Craig.Reviews.us@gmail.com
Hello, this is a great video! I would like to use some of your video for B-roll. May I have your permission?
Sure. Go for it.
Never ever spend the night at a Dallas motel ! That's just nasty 😷 spend the extra money and at least go to Marriott. Also don't take dart at night either. Trust me this place at night is not the same as In the morning!
We definitely hit our new low for a night out. The door only locked from the outside, and the guy who was running the place had the (only) key.
I watched the video and when you got to the part where you found a motel just north of downtown and I saw that map I nearly spit up the coffee I was drinking.... Holy Sh*! Stay away from the sh^!hole that is Harry Hines Blvd!!! I chuckled a bit actually because the thought in my mind was hmmm they are in for a rude awakening :P
that motel was shady as hell y'all should've chosen a hotel like a LA Quinta going to places like that in Dallas is VERY dangerous cuz of crackheads and gangs
You did an Excellent job! unfortunately you did not go to North Dallas where it is really paradisiacal. In no time you did a good job for downtown Dallas.
Marc-Charles Nicolas Hi se are planning to visita Dallas atte new yearsss Eve can You Tello me what else can i do there?
Guia brasileiro em dallas
I hate Spirit Airlines, their website is infuriating and they have way too many hidden cost and extra charges.
I want to know why Nicole and Travis didn't answer.
One thing you will never do is go hungry. They serve some big portions.... So you get why you pay for...
13:35 - I work at DFW airport and I know that lady who helped you.
Tell her I said "thanks!" :)
HAHAHAHAHAHAH freezing 60 degree weather :D Water freezes at 32 degrees. I'm sorry its just that where I am from that is not considered freezing lol.
Ha no worries. I was making fun of her for being cold since it was December and still 60 degrees. As I mention, we are from Minnesota, so to us 60 degrees is extremely warm considering the time of the year!
Craig Reviews oh ok you were being sarcastic. Thats very funny. I thought you were being serious lol.
Cool
Man, I would have been so pissed at those friends.
super !!!
Don't waste time on getting ready and the airport.
nightlife fail
I can’t stand those selfi-sticks. This is a video all about “me”, not Dallas.
I know! Stupid millennials and their technology.
