- Los Angeles police officers issued an advisal to members of Scientology for driving a van on the Venice Beach Boardwalk on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. The group had set up a tent on the boardwalk, prompting the officers to address the incident. Authorities also took the opportunity to review the rules for vending on the Venice Beach Boardwalk with the group.
Scientology is a set of religious beliefs and practices created by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard in the early 1950s. Within days I was getting inundated with all these mailings from Scientology, and I kept sending them back marked "No longer at this address." what was odd was I didn't get any other mail addressed to him. After doing that for a month or so the stuff started coming with MY name on it, and I just tossed it in the trash. I had a six month lease on the apartment, and when it was up, I moved. Moved into my new place over the weekend, and on Monday, when I came home from work, I found three of them on my doorstep demanding to talk to me about why I had stopped coming for "auditing" sessions. I nicely and calmly explained they had the wrong guy, and it was like they didn't hear anything I said...they just kept repeating the same stuff. After a couple of minutes I'd had enough, and started to enter my apartment when one of the grabbed me by the elbow and tried to lead me out to the street. That's when I flipped out and started yelling, and they let go. I got inside and called the cops, and these clowns hung around and argued with the cops when they showed up, and then finally left. Two days later I was leaving work, and found a note from them on my windshield, something they kept up a couple of days a week for a couple of months before finally giving up.

It's the colour for their Volunteer Ministers program which is what they use to get people into Scientology. Like an out reach program, they go into disaster zones and under priveledged areas to promote their basic self help type courses and do what they call "assists" with contact on the body.
