I Love reading these descriptions, hey man my PC is used but like Totally new and I want double what it costs to build it yourself. 2nd hand is 2nd hand - NOT NEW - and as such should reflect that in the price you are asking(I mean you had fun using the PC for however many months/years before you decided to sell it didn't you? Yes, No, whatever I'M NOT PAYING you for whatever enjoyment you got out of it). This is true no matter what the conditions were when you purchased it. A good starting point would be to use PC partpicker to cost the parts new now and then list, for 20-40% lower. There are NOT many things that hold their face value after purchase and a PC for the most part is not something that does. A pre WWII Vintage motorcycle, a top end Vintage Rolex in excellent condition, some very old stamps or coins hell yeah
Exactly how do you " find out" you're moving across the country, second, how in the hell is a PC the deal breaker. You can get your entire f****** house across the country but this gaming PC, that's a little much. Obviously money is no object either because he just built an $8,000 PC

When I saw deltona Florida, I thought for sure my PC was going to be shown lol. It’s so hard to flip these days because the market is flooded with local idiots thinking their gtx 1070 build is worth $800.
The specs on the second rig were a bit weird. In the picture it has a tiny AMD stock cooler that comes with Ryzen 5's. In the specs list its said CPU Ryzen 5 5900X. I bet that was ment to say 5600X. If it was a 5900X oh man it must run hot with that tiny cooler. 😁

To Greg Salazar, I'm retired 10 years now and have built a few High end Game PC's this year. My only regret is I don't game and find it difficult to part with them yet necessary. Knowing there are people looking and some wanting some form of guarantee. Gaming PC's when built rite don't need to be overclocked and there will be no way for me to monitor what people do with them when they are sold. So how does anyone protect themselves knowing in the back of my mind, someday I might hear a knock at the door and a customer asking for there money back. I "Liked this video, "Subscribed" a while back and chose to get "All" your content. Who knows maybe you might make a video about my comment. Thanks again for making all your videos

I always include a picture with the specs because a lot of people don’t read the description or they are just blind or something. When I first started flipping I didn’t and listed all specs in description. The amount of time people asked me what the specs were made me lose a little faith in humanity. The autocorrection on my phone could even fill out my entire reply after just typing the first word of my reply. Also I’ve sold defective parts or parts with small defects that were clearly stated in the description and I’ve had multiple times that after the buyer received the item asked me if I knew it was “defective”.
Worst kind of people are the ones that message you what are the specs, after you describe everything in the description and even some pictures of it on the listing
My friend just got scammed buying a used pc and I felt bad for him and so I built him one with some parts from my old build and some new parts but people are sure skummy
Not only are they overpricing their systems but they can't even be bothered to make a proper listing with clear photos of a clean, presentable PC. I'm not a sales person but even I can post a better listing than those to sell a PC.
let me ask you this. if i were selling a BRAND NEW, in the box, unopened component, could i list it for what someone would pay from a store? second part is this, if i bought again BRAND NEW parts and built a system with those BRAND NEW parts, would that be considered a BRAND NEW system, and would i then still be able to list it NEW, with a slight mark up for being built? at what point does a BRAND NEW PC BUILD depreciate in value? im only asking because i have parts for a build sitting in a box waiting to be built, i just wanted to build another system, but i dont really "need" another build right now. i was thinking about building it to sell. full disclosure, cpu, gpu, and mobo are older second hand (1600AF, asus x570 tuf wifi, rx580 8g), but everything else is new in box, sealed, unopened. case, ram, psu, storage, case fans, cooler. spent between $1000-$1500. just curious since this is kind of the topic in the video.
I don't think you'll get anything like US$1000 for that now - apart from the motherboard the system is pretty much entry level. To answer question , new hardware launched will kill the value of older parts even if they are "new" - the prices of an Ampere GPU will immediately drop when Lovelace comes out even if the card is still in a warehouse. At that point a buyer can get more FPS for the same money with newer stuff.
@@tourmaline07 yea, thats what i was thinking. i knew older gen cpu gpu werent money makers. i paid $300 for all three as one unit. so i broke it down to just $100 apiece in late 2018 early 2019 and figured that wasnt a horrible deal. got them because i was itching to build another system, then reality kicked in after getting the parts, what am i even going to do with it? lol ill end up getting a 5000 series cpu for it, and a gpu eventually.
It's possible that they're using an operating system that doesn't make it clear how to copy text and paste it somewhere else. It's also possible that they don't understand that concept altogether.
I always format my ads like the last guy. I put as much info in as possible, including specs and benchmarks in popular titles(yes, Fortnite still sells gaming PC's). I hardly ever get asked questions outside of does it have WiFi or can it be upgraded at a later time. I do get haggled, but I go into it with a list price and a price in my mind that I am willing to accept. I usually sell my PC's in not longer than a week, mostly within the first 3 days of listing it.
I've wondered why so many people are so vague with their descriptions, or just outright have no info at all. Why would anyone want to answer more questions that necessary? Add the specs of the system (model numbers are very important to include), so the tech literate can quickly see what is included and they can search to see what each individual item has for specifications so a judgement can be made as to the overall worth of the listing. Add good pics of a clean system that are not all cock-eyed. Adding pics that are like that, in an ad, is NOT the time to try to be artistic. One last thing, PC components almost always go down in price, so don't charge what you paid for the parts new. It's really not that hard to have an ad that gets looked at and not passed on. It just may take a little time, so don't be lazy.
FYI the $10k to $8k pc is a scam it has been used for Cars/PC/Atv's so on they claim they are moving and cannot take it with them it's a scam and say they will meet or they cannot meet cuz they are some place else but refer you someone else or say they will ship.
Type EVERYTHING, do not use photos for specs or and text. I'm assuming that the details panel are searchable so it should make your listing more relevant to searches. Metadata.
I'm actually planning on building a rig like the first one and it's like 4 grand tops, including either a 3090 or 4090 depending when that thing comes out... 🤣
i love these videos..these prices are ridiculous..i spent $6500 on my build..$2400 of that went to hardline custom loop, keyboard, mouse, and headset..according to some of these ads i should sell my pc for $20k
Thanks to these videos iv restructed my ads and have been selling PC's for decent profit and as of last week made $3000 Wich will either be downpayment in 4090 or let me build a TR 5000 rig.
I hate when I list PC parts... and I start with a REASONABLE price... taking into account that is it no longer brand new, the currently price new on Amazon/Newegg... etc... and people STILL offer way lower prices because it is psychological... that they feel they need to get it lower than the list price. Example. 32GB Corsair RGB RAM selling for $120 on Amazon, I ask only $80 for a kit I used for 3-4 months... and they offer $40. 🙄🙄 Or more recently.... I have a Phanteks Enthoo 719 case... with EVERTHING that came with it. Perfect condition. The case is huge and heavy... so I know it will be expensive to ship... so it really won't be worth selling online. So I have it listed locally.... and I know the market will be limited in who will want to buy it. It sells for $229 new... I ask $150... knowing people will offer me less. My bottom dollar will be $100 (in the back of my mind). Today... someone offered $100. I said, "Yes, but you will have to come pick it up at that price." They asked for my cross roads and then they said, "Oh... that's really far. Can you meet me half way." I blocked them. Dude... you are already doing to be getting a $229 case for $100, the least you can do is pick it up!
There are YT channels that have segments on these kind of people. Even when it's free and all you need to do is go pick it up, people will still demand that you deliver it to them on this date and time.
When i sell a old gaming rig i always put a cheap price and people always ask me why so cheap? Is this a scam? Is this a pre build? Hate that shit. Trying to help someone with a cheap rig and people think its fake
I am fed up with selling mine, if anything I'm selling mine at a loss because I'm putting video games behind me for more important things in life. I have a 5700xt AMD build I'm selling for $600, no I'm not giving you a computer for gas money, go fys.
Coming from someone who worked an online retail business, I can't understand why people don't take more photos. I think it's laziness. I get that it can be a hassle to get photos from every angle, but it really isn't. I hate when an advertisement or product page doesn't have enough photos. Also, remember the days when people would complain about the high cost of Apple products? I never thought I'd see the day when mid-range PCs would be going for those premium prices.
If it was me looking at these listing's I would have to be a smart ass to them-_- I would find the price of their system at current prices and send it to them while laughing at them
Specs are put in as photos because people DON'T want to waste time scrolling through a long Facebook ad. Sometimes all people DO is click-click-click through the photos, "Oh, that looks good..." Click, 'Hi, is this still available.' EVEN THOUGH YOU'VE LISTED IN THE AD THAT IT'S AVAILABLE UNTIL SOLD!!!
Sadly some people are just too lazy to take a bit of time on a description on a item worth nowhere near the price, take pride in your advert and you never know, some crazy may pay for your overpriced rig. Great video as usual Greg 🤟
If I'm selling a system I've built I research the CURRENT prices if they are new or used, knowing that what I paid may vary from that. I do expect a modest return for my time and effort, but nothing outrageous. This isn't my principle source of income, I just really enjoy it.
Greg, take a second and ask, why would someone go through the effort of typing out all the specs on their phone, taking a screenshot of it from their phone, and then uploading it onto the marketplace? The only reason I can come up with is, that the customer will have a harder time going through each item, copying/pasting it into Google, and seeing what these parts are actually worth and how far apart they are from the price of the parts to what they are asking for. Makes it harder for people to throw the B.S flag at them.
Im sure i speak for all of the sellers when i say you sir are wrong and have no idea what you are talking about, you should be ashamed of yourself for this blatant slander. Definimation if i ever seen it! Expect a lawsuit soon! Btw this series is slowly becoming my favorite, can't beat the "Fix or not viewers" series though! Keep up the amazing work!
I sell (among other things) computers (laptops and desktops) on FB marketplace; I always strive to describe EVERYTHING trying to minimize unnecessary questions, going so far as to add READ DESCRIPTION at the end of the title for each listing... Yet people STILL refuse to read it. They go straight to messaging "is this available?", "What's the price?" And many others... Tiresome Context: I live in Venezuela, and most sellers on FB marketplace post listings showing a couple of pictures and only typing "DM for more info " on the description... Ridiculous
they changed the way FB marketplace works. If you don't set up a shipping account, the marketplace will not show your items in listings outside your local area, unless a person specifies they want to see far away items. I used to not have any issues selling my old parts, even it meant shipping the item to the buyer. My computer parts usually lasted only a couple of days, and had many views. Now I barely get 20 views, and only am contacted by people from my city. I think they limit it to your city, or to your zip code if you live in a large city.

I'd like this too although one of them tried to sue Greg a while back so he might be cautious!
RTX 2060 SUPER / Ryzen 7 2700x for $650. Thoughts?
Need more info, unless you’re just buying the cpu and gpu for that much.

I would have straight up bought that last one as a project or for a family member - very decently priced and the seller is realistic and genuine.
He lives not too far from me lol
A pre WWII Vintage motorcycle, a top end Vintage Rolex in excellent condition, some very old stamps or coins hell yeah
lol that second listing had his case listed as "High Ventilation Case"
Exactly how do you " find out" you're moving across the country, second, how in the hell is a PC the deal breaker. You can get your entire f****** house across the country but this gaming PC, that's a little much.
Obviously money is no object either because he just built an $8,000 PC

My ssd on my pc that has windows on it doesnt work. So I cant play on it and my pc is just collecting dust. Can anyone help and tell me what to do or buy.
That second computer omg.... there's so much no in that pic. Starting with the stock wraith cooler on a 5900x... if that indeed is in it.
its like putting a stock intel cooler on a 12900k, its dumb
I got my pc, 3090, 12900k, 32gb DDR5, fully custom watercooled by me, hard tubing. in a corsair 1000D. fully maxed out fans all wired up in icue. paid £6k for it, and would not expect any more than 3.5k if i sold it.
these are just insane
I’m glad your doing this again
4:40 except the weird Mobo/CPU combo, are we gonna ignore that the "Exhaust" fan is mounted as an "Intake" fan?
Edit: Typo
Just curious what is a reasonable amount of money to ask for a new gaming PC not used with these specs: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8 core 16 thread processor
ASUS Dual RTX4060-08G
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB CPU Air Cooler
Corsair RM750e Fully Modular Low-Noise ATX Power Supply
Corsair 4000D Airflow Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX PC Case Black
MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI ProSeries Motherboard (AMD,AM4,DDR4,PCle 4.0
Crucial P3 1TB PCle Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD, up to 3500MB/s
0:24 id call that pc snowy
My first like ever lol
This is my favourite series on this channel!
This series is fun!
Was the guy with the 5900x using a stock amd cooler?
does the case catch on fire?
My friend just got scammed buying a used pc and I felt bad for him and so I built him one with some parts from my old build and some new parts but people are sure skummy
Lot of PoS out there
Oooof! It sure is easy to be scammed. Be careful!
I always do business in person with cash only. Scammers suck
@@liamthepyro yea I wish he told me what he was doing first so i could help and give him info but he didnt
I know what I have...
means the price is over retail 🤣
Nice series. Awesome TH-cam channel
When we do these videos, you should do a screen shot of what the parts are actually worth.
A well written advertisement will also save the seller a lot of time answering more questions. Time is money.
Not only are they overpricing their systems but they can't even be bothered to make a proper listing with clear photos of a clean, presentable PC.
I'm not a sales person but even I can post a better listing than those to sell a PC.
This series is great. Only thing missing is for you to say what you think each system is actually worth.
A very well done and informative video thanks for doing it.
well thank you dude, I'm going to start the business of selling and flipping pcs so I'm gonna follow the last pc example :D
I have a poweredge 2U dell server and I'm local if you wanna use it for a video
i missed these make them more often pls
"hidden information" is because for some reason FB only makes it available on the mobile app (or if you write the url as m.facebook) for phone numbers
I like that at least in this episode you showed an example of a decent post
4:04 Nobody saw the "Ryzen 5 5900X"
let me ask you this. if i were selling a BRAND NEW, in the box, unopened component, could i list it for what someone would pay from a store? second part is this, if i bought again BRAND NEW parts and built a system with those BRAND NEW parts, would that be considered a BRAND NEW system, and would i then still be able to list it NEW, with a slight mark up for being built? at what point does a BRAND NEW PC BUILD depreciate in value? im only asking because i have parts for a build sitting in a box waiting to be built, i just wanted to build another system, but i dont really "need" another build right now. i was thinking about building it to sell. full disclosure, cpu, gpu, and mobo are older second hand (1600AF, asus x570 tuf wifi, rx580 8g), but everything else is new in box, sealed, unopened. case, ram, psu, storage, case fans, cooler. spent between $1000-$1500. just curious since this is kind of the topic in the video.
It's also possible that they don't understand that concept altogether.
a 5900x on an A520 mobo with the wraith stealth sitting on top of it xd good job
The second pc that you viewed had only intake
what happened to the onlyflops series?
I always format my ads like the last guy. I put as much info in as possible, including specs and benchmarks in popular titles(yes, Fortnite still sells gaming PC's). I hardly ever get asked questions outside of does it have WiFi or can it be upgraded at a later time. I do get haggled, but I go into it with a list price and a price in my mind that I am willing to accept. I usually sell my PC's in not longer than a week, mostly within the first 3 days of listing it.
Why is the pc so high? On the first two. At that price a person could build a 2,000 dollars or even get one from a company.
Bro said he's gonna water cool the RAM 😂
I haven't found a 3090ti new for $1200.
Or more recently....
Man those prices are absolutely rediculous! These people must be high! Enjoy these types of videos!
From what I understand about a card I had for 3 years you cannot SLI a 2080 super.....
YO GREG!!! How many videos like this did you make and will you change this kind of selling...
Stock photo ads are my favourite lmao
Google Lens? Handles OCR just fine and intgrates the search function...
I always keep your videos in mind when I am listing gaming PCs for sale. I don't want to end up on one of your videos.
I'd feel sorry for anyone who falls for these ads, there is always someone out there who isn't informed enough to know it's a scam
"I know what I paid for" At this point I'm the one laughing at him.
You needed to ask the first guy for pics. I wanted to see that pc. Lol.
Tiresome
Context: I live in Venezuela, and most sellers on FB marketplace post listings showing a couple of pictures and only typing "DM for more info " on the description... Ridiculous
Thank you for this vid
Greg you need to make that Kelly Blue Book for PC's buddy
they changed the way FB marketplace works.
