Hey Danny, I really like how you put in the extra effort to compare this CodeOfBell backpack to several other backpacks in the same genre. Btw I’m a huge fan of CodeOfBell. I own two of their bags. Thank you for the review.

The only thing I don’t like about CoB bags is the Diamond shape they take when you expand them. They look a bit alien 👽

I like the expanding compartment concept. I feel like most 20 liter bags are only usable up to about 17 liters anyway because all the pockets are too hard to access. The Able Carry Daily has been my go-to for years but it always ends up hard to access stuff in the bottom, and in the front pocket.

It really makes me think of Côte&Ciel Isaar backpack, with a military/tech look and improvements. The two parts (main with laptop, expandable with that volume) look similar to the Isaar, and while I find it very aesthetic, it doesn’t seem easy to use…

Thank you for watching and good call out! Definitely reminds me of the vibe of that bag!

Hey Danny, Ive been testing this bag recently too and quite enjoying it. I noticed at 12:06 though that drawstring pocket inside the 'tech area' actually is connected to the outer zippered pocket (under the outer drawstring hand sanitiser pocket) its connected, kind of an interesting choice

Thanks for watching Dean and good call out! Definitely an interesting layout there, almost like it’s meant to work as an extra water bottle pocket

One of the most overengineered bags on the market, but for sure there will be people who like it

Very interesting bag. I can't say I hate it as far as function goes but that price is definitely premium.

Danny, great review! Does the XType stand up on its own?

Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Unfortunately it doesn’t standup super reliably on its own

@@dannypacks figured so, the sleek angle of the base looks quite slanted. It’s too bad. For me, ability to stand is a must for an edc pack. Coffee shops, paying at the register, etc. looks awesome though!

Personally, I think this bag is overpriced.
That being said, price aside, I am not sure how I feel about the bag itself. I like it but I also think it looks like an incomplete prototype. I feel there is something missing.
