      Correct. And, yes. Granted the DLS is a comedy talk show, so the "test" was not proper, or even meant to be: knowledge does not equate to intelligence, necessarily. Oh well, was still fun to watch :)

      @swamihuman9395 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@pashadyne Perhaps. But I have to think her acceptance into Mensa was based on an INTELLIGENCE test, NOT a KNOWLEDGE test. And my understanding is that one can increase their knowledge, but not their intelligence - though perhaps this has been challenged. lately. Anyhow, I do know the kinds of questions on a Mensa test, and they are about pattern recognition, and the like, but not about knowledge in and of itself. Unfortunately, terms, concepts, associations/relations are often conflated by those who don't fully contemplate them. Oh well.

      @swamihuman9395 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@pashadyne Hm? Sorry I was taken to be shouting, as it was not my intent. The caps were for emphasis, not as shouting. Anyhow, yes, she said she didn't take a test, but I suspect she misspoke, as I can't imagine anyone, at any age, accepted into Mensa w/o taking an approved test - though I guess they could have made an exception. Anyhow, I didn't mean to outright dispute that knowledge at a young age might indicate some level of intelligence, only intended to note the generally view that they are not necessarily connected. I think we are much of the same mind, just having a slight communication issue. As George Bernard Shaw has been attributed as saying, "The single biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place."! :D Take care, and be well...

Letterman was a narcissistic jerk whose one great accomplishment was to make it fashionable for middle aged men to continue to act sophomoric. He was a negative influenced of the culture while Carson was a credit to it. Carson’s show was light and healthy and appealed to the better side of us while Letterman’s was dark and disturbing and appealed to the baser side of our nature. His humor was ascerbic and biting. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Nixon & other political figures. But when he moved the show to California, the show leaned heavily on Hollywood personalities & cheap laughs. Letterman, starting at 12:30, & being based in New York, was more experimental, more about parodying the whole genre. Carson always favored Letterman, & wanted him to succeed him as the host, but the network preferred Leno.

Tell me, was Dan Quayle wrong when he was highly criticized and attacked for saying that the breakdown of the family unit would lead to a breakdown in society? Hi iamlight, it’s nice meeting you here.. I’m Richard by name, it would be nice getting to know you better, if that’s ok with you? My mom once said good friends are never too much to have. if you don’t mind, can we be friends??
      Lovely smile you got there on your profile picture, it can brighten up the most darkest atmosphere of any man’s world😉.
