- Hi fellow dog lover!🐶 My dog Billie had so many behavior problems… she was jumping, peeing inappropriately, overly aggressive, pulling on the leash… she was just crazy…🤪 Then I found this one solution that stopped all the problems!🙌 The sad fact was…The training I first tried with my dog was a complete fai...lure.😔 I went through the average cookie-cutter training programs. These programs used outdated and ‘mean’ dominance techniques. It turns out those programs had no qualifications and were developed by complete phonies.😱 So this is what I did to stop my dog’s behavior problems... In a few simple words… I discovered my dog’s hidden intelligence!🧠
Let me explain… In my years as a dog owner…this is the one big lesson I have learned. More intelligent dogs are better behaved.👍 A more intelligent dog takes commands easier…and understands what you need from them. What I found out was… No matter how clever I thought my dog was. Rough Collie 101: Everything You Need To Know
Collies were once Scottish herding dogs that became famous through Lassie's TV show. With herding and protection capabilities, long coats that flow, a wedge-shaped head, loveable and gentle demeanor, this common breed can do well in the country or the city. Rough collies need at least 45 minutes of outdoor time per day. Once back inside, they are very calm and happy to lounge with their owner. The beautiful, long-haired dogs that protect their master, rough collie dogs are loyal, affectionate, responsive, and fast. Known for their beauty, intelligence, obedience, and empathetic qualities. These dogs make great family friends because they have elegant appearance and a variety of positive traits.
Dogs that make great pets are Collies. Collies are an attractive group of dogs with their typically long, graceful stature and plush coats. Their dark and almond-shaped eyes help people spot when they're excited. When they perk up, their ears tilt forward, giving them an inquisitive look that makes them smart. They act just as naturally while walking down the sidewalk or through the heather.

Yes! My Smoky would sit with my mother while she was talking to the neighbors in our yard. When my bus would arrive about 300 yards away, he would get antsy until my mother said “go get him”, and he would run
the 300 yards, take one
loop around me and sprint
back to my mother. Awesome dog, the love of my life.

Idk, we have one. Probably one of the most beautiful dogs ever owned (tri color) but our dog is just so damn… dependent and always follows us anywhere in the house. Plus no common sense lol. I came here wondering if they were all the same
@@00700556 they require a lot of socialization and activity, if you don’t have anyone at home all the time for walks and play then they get extremely bored and will continue to follow you around in hopes you’ll do something with them. They are fragile though as is their stomachs you probably know. Best advice is constantly show them new stimulus, one of the few things people don’t mention when they own this breed is that they’re working dogs. They were bred to herd so if they don’t get to do that they need to be doing something to fill that natural need!

Through the majority of my 80 years of life I have had the marvelous companionship of at least one wonderful Collie at a time. Today I have two beautiful and sweetly spirited 3 year old Collies. They very well may out live me. But all the same I try to keep them with best nutrition available. The Male is Named Mactavish and my lady dog is named Queenie Aileen. They both watch after me and my lone cat. A female named Keiko. We all walk, talk and Plat together each day. I do not believe there are a better companion anywhere on thus planet. It make me very happy to arise in the morning knowing I will be greeted by two happy, smiling tail wagging canines.

I have a question for you if you don't mind. I am really wanting to get a rough collie, but I am concerned about the grooming requirements. Would a rough collie be appropriate for a senior citizen? It seems that you have rough collies. I have read that they can be difficult to groom and have to have a lot of brushing almost daily to keep them from being matted. What is your experience with grooming them yourself? Thank you.
@@inhaleexhale I was in my 30s, working when i had one. Long hair were everywhere, despite hoovering. How patient are you? I had not much time but managed without getting her much matted. I wonder if these gloves with brush would be good enough. They need space, running. And something to keep their mind occupied. How about minimizing brushing issue by getting getting border collie? lol
The maintenance can be a nuisance but once you fell in love with (any) dog, oxytocin hormone will work, and you may feel different about it. I would go for the dog I like.

My childhood pet was a rough collie. We named her Lola.
I remember my grandma's Laddie would come to my crib a few times a night. The clickety clack of his claws was always comforting. Then sticking his beak thru the slats and getting snot all over my face.
I have had five collies. I love them to no end.
I hate dogs.... but the one dog that maybe I could comparatively be okay with is a collie, and nobody wants them anymore. I saw them a lot when I was a kid. People prefer bully breeds and assorted filth.
I added my Rough Collie to my home as a pup, he's now two.
"Buddy" is my house companion, is loving, kind, and just a fantastic dog.

I had a black and white rough collie, he had broke his chain and jumped his pen to protect myself and brother and sister to protect us from a neighbors Malimut dog that was mean my dog and had broke his chain. Thunder was our hero! His long coat and long body the neighbor dog couldn't get a hold of him. Which gave our mom time to bring us in and the neighbor could get their dog and as soon the neighbor got a hold of , I called Thunder and he raced to the house. He was my first dog and when passed from heart worms I cried about a week. You see Thunder was my best friend too.
I would kick a ball towards him and he kicked back, when I was sad he would cuddle with his head my lap.
One day I hope to see him again.
