This story made me feel horrified,sick 😢and incredibly furious. This story reminds me of the hello kitty murder. I think the police were afraid of the yakuza which is why they didn't bother checking the house. Anyway Japan doesn't care about girls the way they care about boys which definitely needs to change!

This case honestly broke my heart, what that poor young innocent girl went through, to go from living a life full of purity, ambition and innocence and thrust into nothing but pure evil and depravity, to have sooooo many people know and see what she went through and no one stand up for her, absolutely disgusting! The parents whose house it happened in cannot say they didn’t hear her screams for help or see parts of ehat was happening, glimpses of her in the house, disgusting!!! She can’t be roaming in torment, she already suffered her torment! She is resting in peace, her torment eneded when her life ended and she was freed from those monsters!!!!! Very much reminds me of the kelly anne bates and anita cobby murders!

Honestly the thing that got me out of my funk after reading about it was realizing how strong Junko was as a person.
1- Everyone in her school was afraid of the classmate who eventually kidnapped her because they knew he had ties to the Yakuza, but Junko still had the courage to turn him down.
2- That girl was put through hell and back, there was not a part of her body that was not violated or beaten, and yet her determination to live was honestly astounding: they locked her out on the balcony during winter several times and yet she did not jump, she would challenge them and tell them to ‘kill her and get it over with already’, even when they eventually killed her it was over a game of Mah-jong that she won. Which sounds like a weird thing to mention but if you think about it, she could’ve thrown the match to appease her captors but Junko was still willing to defy them with any agency she had.
3- While Junko was being horrifyingly abused, she still tried to escape her prison instead of giving in to her despair. She even tried pleading with the family of one of her own captors when she met them instead of playing it safe in hopes of appeasing them.
They may have abused Junko’s body, but her spirit and mind remained unbroken and determined. She died with her pride and her strength of spirit intact which honestly speaks volumes of the character of a girl who was only 16 at a time. As for her captors, they might have gotten away from the justice system but they will get what’s coming to them, if not in this life then the next. And every debt they owe Junko and their other victims will be repaid in full.
My advice to you is to focus on Junko’s strength in facing her horrible situation instead of her captors’ cruelty, you will surely find inspiration instead of just a reason to be sad.

The police must have been shocked during each of their detailed confessions of the acts perpetrated on Junko’s body over the 44 days. To know the number of times she was raped and each act of torture committed is beyond comprehension. I’ve heard about this case a few years ago and each telling is the same, the details don’t change. I don’t think a horror movie today could touch this level of depravity.

This was abominable and I truly hope that the Japanese laws have been updated to include harsher punishments. I think that you cover these cases with a deep sense of respect for the victims and an appropriate sense of loathing for the perpetrators regardless of age or gender. I find these videos fascinating.

I remember first learning about Junko’s case and it honestly left such an impact on me. Like iv always been interested in murder cases and crime, but this one just left me feeling so heartbroken, furious, and terrified because it really showed me just how morally depraved and demented we humans can truly be and how not even the most innocent of people are saved or given proper justice. Junko would have been in her 40s if she was still alive today. She could have led a successful life, maybe start a family, experience so many things, but it was all taken from her so soon when she was still only 17. There were multiple instances where she could have been saved but nobody helped her and she was left to try to survive and bear through all the sick torture, humiliation, and pain those four demons put her through. Even after death, she couldn’t catch a break as the mother of one of her murderers would vandalize her grave and say that it was all HER fault that her son’s life was ruined and that, according to the judge, her death was so brutal that her spirit could never find peace!! And those four guys are still out there in the open and have committed other crimes after being released!
Japan really needs to do better at handling their Justin system and change the way they view and treat women!

I have a 17-year-old daughter… I cannot even begin to imagine her experiencing such torture and being brutally murdered! Junko was so STRONG for enduring that extreme torture for so long. She fought long and hard. She tried so hard to survive. RIP beautiful! 💕
I also heard from my mom that the rapists made her dance in exchange for freedom and she tried to but due to her injuries, she fell back down. I heard that the rapists are free now and changed names. One of them is married and another have a girlfriend who he threatened that ‘he killed someone before and you are nothing if i were to try’.

But I just want to say that I'd never heard of her winning the Mahjong game and when you said that; although I knew they were going to take their wrath out on her - and I'm sure she knew too, I feel like that was her way of showing her superiority over them. She knew she wasn't going to make it out, so she hit them where it hurt, their pride and good for her! May she rest in peace, that poor little angel.

After knowing this story. My heart breaks. Nobody deserve this. The story of her kept me awake a whole night. Thinking why are the boys so cruel, why are they so inhuman? How can one even torture another? She has no justice to what the outcome of what the boys was sentenced too. And the fact that this monster is still walking around freely, makes me sick. When I first heard about this case, I could not believe it. This case has stuck with me for years . I just don't understand the cruelty and depravity these guys had to have to do another human being like this. And the fact that most involved have moved on with their lives and have had families. It's just shocking.

They tortured her bc they saw how good and sweet she was. At school she was a popular girl--- known to be beautiful, smart but also have good character. She never partied, smoked, did drugs, or even dated. They saw her good character as an insult to their characters and the Japanese place big importance on a person's morals, so they sadistically tortured her to take away her purity. The gang leader was also popular in school, big man on campus but for very bad reasons--he was a low level link to the yakuza or has connections with them, therefore everyone in school fearerd him and he never had problems with getting girls. Junko however, was allegedly the first girl whom ever rejected him after he confessed his feelings for her. And bc of his sexual frustration, romantic interest, fragile ego, he cannot accept rejection so he decided to derive pleasure by taking away her purity and destroying her in every way possible.

I agree with you that there’s no way the parents didn’t know. She was sleeping on the back porch in the winter. They would’ve had to have seen the injuries get progressively worse over time. They would’ve also pieced it together that she wasn’t doing it to herself. Oh and how could you not smell the smell of burning flesh? 🤔 😡 I believe they were afraid of them but they knew. 😭

Hey girl. I'm usually OK with watching true crimes, but this is absolutely horrendous. I actually had to stop watching this. I've never actually heard of something as horrific as this.
What vile, vile creatures. Its so inhumane. These "boys" are evil. I really really feel for this girl, I wish she had gone on day 19 when the police arrived. What a horrible way to go, it's such a shame.

This absolutely breaks my heart. I can’t even imagine the pain and suffering this girl went through. It was really like over the top I don’t understand how people like h to is exist in the world. I wouldn’t even give them the death penalty because the deserve to feel the pain this innocent girl went through. I know this was a long time ago but my gosh my heart still hurts for her and I really pray that she’s in peace and all those memories were erased from her mind because this is awful. My gosh I can’t even wrap my mind around this and everything that happened 😞
