arlene castillo Michelle absolutely did and so did Tabitha who is also out of Prison due to being 17 at the time she held Laurie down for Michelle and she is out of Prison makes me sick and Lawrence I mean Butch that name fits him better Laurie said to her mother after their first and only date they did not date they went out once then he went back to Michelle who was pregnant lets not forget that she had her baby while awaiting trial thats why she did not get death they I mean obviously they would wait till the baby was born but they spared her saying she could contribute in Prison to her family and daughters life well what about Hazel's daughter I am fine with her getting Life though even if she was released briefly by Supreme Court Judge Stewart Dalzell what I am not fine with is Butch and Tabby being out . Tabitha admitted with her own mouth admitted sitting on Laurie's legs and holding her down as Michelle "Carved Laurie's neck like a loaf of bread"! and she also had other stab wounds. I think Laurie did the best she could to defend herself but Tabitha was big and it was 2 on 1 and also Lisa was pregnant and Laurie didn't wanna harm the baby that is part of the the saddest part in her last moments she was thinking about an unborn child that if Michelle had any love for she would have not done that and her excuse of burying the hatchet and apologizing to Laurie and promising to leave her alone face to face why did you need the ski masks gloves rope and big butcher knife to say all that Michelle and come on Butch you saw all that helped her buy it you knew what they were gonna do you encouraged it just as you had encouraged Michelle to beat Laurie up the other times . All 3 of them deserved to Rot in Prison. Michelle could have been anything in life she chose to be a coldblooded killer with no remorse
A girl came to my home demanding to see my daughter. I let her know that I was the most insane person she would ever come across and there was NOTHING I wouldn't do to make sure my daughter was left alone. I put on the performance of a lifetime. Never heard from that girl again. Warmest thoughts to Laurie's mother❤️
I'm a cold bitch but even I shed a few tears when Laurie was saying 'I love you' again and again to her mum
I've had dreams where that happens only it was my brothers who had died- I'd had plenty of bad dreams before that, but that were the only times I literally woke up screaming

Some ppl just kill in a moment of anger and it would not be fair to send them away for life
It also depends on who can be rehabilitated
Sexual killers are hardest to rehabilitate as an example
As of the age of criminal responsibility it needs to be at 15 like in scandinavia (Closer to the age of consent, usa's system is disgraceful)
@@Unbreakable245 it is fair to send them away the only time killing is ok is self defense what’s not fair is the victims that lives are cut short you wouldn’t be saying this if someone murdered someone close to you out of a “fit of rage” it’s really insensitive for you to say something like this there’s many people who’ve lost people dear to them out of anger why should someone be able to get out of jail for taking someone’s life when the person who’s life is taken remains in their grave

That’s even more stupid… they took someone away from their family took their life so no they should NOT get to have a life outside of prison hell no. There needs to be bigger consequences and harder justice for these people so people stop stupidly “killing someone in a moment of anger” and think they will get a light sentence.
@@laughingcorrpseholly4136 Umm yes because not everyone actually planned their murder beforehand. It is not that thinking they will get away. People can actually be a rehabilitated. But in america, they only punish people and don't focus on rehabilitation so there is basically no hope for anyone
Those who can change should have the chance of parole unless their acts were exceptionally heinous. Life without parole is such an extreme sentence that it should only be imposed for the worst types of crimes
I was born and raised in Lancaster. Its mot as safe as it seems. It's actually become a shithole the past 20 years, looking into the murders there, my grandfather was murdered in a home invasion, 2 of my high school classmates were involved in a murder; 1 the victim, 1 the killer. There was the murder recently of Linda Stoltzfoos. The area gives off that Americana feel that you talked about and it's almost like a gauze veil over a pile of shit imo. I moved away 1 year ago and I still see how drugs, crime and poverty are over taking the county and especially the city center. Its sad, it has alot of beautiful locations and things to do. Lots of history too, but more and more it's falling down into a pit :/

@@BRATTERSTEIN Yeah, I had to pause a couple times to stop crying 😢. I have 5 kids (3 girls ) the middle one is 15 yrs old this Friday. Thinking about the similar ages just really hit home. I can’t imagine the pain and suffering Laurie’s Mum went through. Having your baby girl pass in your arms? 😭💔 Cannot imagine. My heart hurts for her.
Sarah Kenny look up the killing of Laurie Showa documentary called Amercan Justice will come up its not necessarily titled that but the narrartor is Bill Kurtis its a longerstory than even told here Michelle murdered Laurie while several months pregnant and had the baby in jail soon after her arrest

I was about the same age in Lancaster county, PA. Very crazy case that probably started my true crime obsession. So sad for Laurie & her family, I think all of us in that area & that age will always remember her & those involved.

The thing Lawrence had lied about was he originally claimed his answers to Michelle's questions were forged, but a handwriting expert disputed his claim saying the handwriting was indeed his.

Dude since becoming a mom this stuff has gotten harder and harder to listen to. I couldn’t help but cry during the part about her last words, just unbelievably sad and I don’t know how I’d go on as a mother after that. Fuck forgiving I’d want revenge lol

It’s a death row case and all the circumstances surrounding it are crazy!
Its also from my home town in a small part of north Texas- outside of Dallas!
I am convinced something is wrong here, her husband left the house to go get the neighbour, but he didn't so where did he go? Also I know the grave party looked bad, but it doesn't mean she's guilty especially when you view the whole film and she's broken hearted and crying, that woman next to her egged her to do the silly string.

Darlie is guilty. Her defense and mother have put forth a lot of lies. After 20 plus years there's NO evidence anyone else was in that house. She's changed her story 3 times every time new evidence pointing to her comes up.

Nice for Lori to be able to tell her who did it and that she loved her mum. 💝 Lawrence knew what Michelle was going to do and yes I agree he was probably controlling because to get rid of Lori means she can’t have him charged with rap. He got a great deal and scary that he’s out among us. I feel for her family too having to go through the court system numerous times and I’m glad Michelle is back where she belongs. RIP Lori
I remember this case and read a book about it years ago. Michelle is exactly where she belongs. I do think that Lawrence enjoyed seeing Michelle fight over him.

This happened less than an hour away from my house and I've never even heard of it before. It's awful and I can't imagine what that poor family has been through emotionally. Laurie seemed like such a sweet person and I could only imagine the good she could have done had she been given the chance.
I live on 322 8 miles from Laurie's grave.

This case is not talked about nearly enough. I remember seeing the movie about her when I was a teenager, and it haunted me. I never forgot her. You told her story beautifully.

So sad I came into the world the same way as Laurie with my cord round my neck the day after what would of been her 17th birthday 😭
I grew up with Lawrence, he was a really great friend of mine. Once he met Michelle he changed. He was still really nice, but he was not allowed to talk to me when she was around. I think she really had him brainwashed. The Lawrence I knew would never hurt anyone, so I was so shocked when this story came out. A few days before the murder my friend and I were at the mall where Laurie worked. We ran into Lawrence, Michelle, and Tabitha. He stopped to say hi, but he was nervous about it because I don’t think he was allowed to talk to any female at all. Michelle glared at me with such hatred and I never really knew her. I cried for Laurie and the fact that one of my best friends growing up was partially responsible for her death.
Oh Michelle was 100% guilty.

I always remembered hearing about this, which is so sad, and then I saw the movie that was made in 2000..the movie was just so lifetime/ low budget, but the stalking, bullying and her murder was crazy to me
She may not have physically done it, but Michelle was there. She was obsessed and jealous. She wasn't going to just let it go.

Personally, I've always found it difficult to believe Laurie would have still been alive with a severed carotid artery when Hazel returned home. But if she had seen Lawrence at the scene, that means Hazel could have arrived immediately after Michelle and Tabitha left. In which case, Laurie could have still been alive
