I saw the Hearthwitch react on the second video a while back. They use the word wicca but mainly mean witchcraft in general. I think they didn't know that Wicca is actually a religion.

The first video is so much better than I remember!!!
I suspect the surprise at the sex elements of witchcraft/Wicca, is the association with religion (I think the average person equates witchcraft with religion of some sort). As christianity is the prevalent religion in the US, I'm guessing most people think religion = chastity. Just a guess, but first thing that popped to mind.

Damn, these Wiccans do go hard. They invoke and thank and raise energy from all sorts of places and entities. It's very structured and there's a lot to remember.
Love seeing other practitioners' work and hearing their views. 🥰
Although, if the video is made by people who don't practice or don't have much knowledge about it one of the main issues I have across the board is that the creators and editors of the video don't really know what is significant or valuable. Through editing, many things end up on the cutting room floor and if they were included, could have added context and understanding.
I did like the Unsolved video better than the 2017 one. And I agree with you that I would have loved to see the rituals, rather than just a montage.
OMG, I love the mural in the Green Man! I'd love to have a dedicated ritual room in my house. I watched the second video when it first dropped. Very Wiccan as I recall.
I love my CUUPS group! We have all kinds of pagans, wiccans, and witches of all backgrounds! The Wiccan rituals we do are amazing I felt “the Holy Ghost” so to speak and am looking into Wicca more serious than I did in 2019…

Magic does exist in Buddhism as a practice. It's not discussed in strains of Buddhism directed towards English speakers.😊

Absolutely loved this video! I think the reason why the second one was so great and more respectful is because they got so much backlash from that first one, so Buzzfeed was like let's not do that again. Also I've seen Ari (the former buddhist monk) in other videos and he tries to be as respectful as possible to what he's speaking on.

I think the reason people are so surprised by the prevalence of g3nital imagery is because, particularly in the United States, having been settled by Christians, there are a lot of Puritanical ideas about s3x and g3nitals, so the idea of a religion being comfortable with genitals is a little unexpected. I remember hearing about a Catholic pope who c@strated a bunch of statues in the Vatican that had g3nitals. I believed the statues have since been fixed by adding marble leaves to the g3nital region, but the negative attitudes toward s3x definitely persist.
The Greenman is hands down my favorite spiritual store in LA. Never taken a class, but their staff are always so helpful and the minute I walk in it feels like a spiritual hug. I highly recommend a visit to anyone in the area 💚

Loved the first video I was expecting a lot worse. As for the second video I always found it a little irritating and leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
The second video is also a rip off of a video that Jaclyn Glenn made called How to practice witchcraft. I remember when both were made. There was a huge debate over if they copied her video. Either way both never sat right with me.
Yes!! I remember that drama between the second video and the other one. I think because the second video got such mixed reviews and dealt with possible plagiarism (I remember Sara making a statement about it) that it's why the 1st video Frankie watched was so much more respectful.

Yeah, I'll never part from my great-grandmother's cast iron cauldron... She made amazing food with that thing and you don't just get rid of seasoned cast iron. I think many people believe they are only for spells and herbs and stuff, but you CAN cook with them and it's still Witchcraft, or you can be my younger brother and just cook with it (He borrows it when we're camping for his popcorn).
Every time I see a ritual, I feel like trash, because I am so chaotic with spellwork lol.

I feel like witches are often very philosophical, and dare to question and alter current circumstances. Which would explain why many "free thinkers" were often persecuted for being accused of being a witch (even if they weren't)

I vaguely remember Frankie having a Google doc that had a lot of information that they collected for themselves and other witches. I remember them putting it in the description of a video but I can't remember what video it is. Honestly I could be misremembering everything but if anybody knows what I'm talking about and could point me the right direction that be very much appreciated.

I really like that you say “witches” instead of “witchlings” now. The latter was kind of demeaning to viewers who have been practicing for a long time and made it seem like your content was only for new witches.

Same here, but I found a somewhat coping method for that kind of thing... I find food and eat too, because it's louder than external chewing from someone else. Sometimes instead I suck at the roof of my mouth by making a pocket of space with my tongue.
