I'm just now realizing that right after Nami said: "I know you can hear me!" Luffy woke up and transformed. I also remember what Vegapunk said about Nika being able to exist because people believed. So maybe Nami's faith in Luffy was the main reason that he was able to awaken Nika, since Nika is only really able to exist because people believe.
But if that's the case you have races like the giants who believe in nika, so luffy would be alive even without nami calling out to him. Unless the fruit actually takes in the hopes of the ppl around the host, making it so that everyone on luffy's side has a sliver of hope that powers him up, awakening him in the process. This is awakening could be because he had gathered hope from the very start to fill it to a required limit to awaken or it was because that many people believed in him at the same time. Also he was probably not dead considering his devil fruit didn't immediately transfer to another nearby fruit. But same can be said for wb. Very controversial because when smiley the salamander goo monster killed itself, another fruit immediately turns into the salamander fruit. It might be because bb was holding a fruit with him so the gura gura no mi was in his hands already.
Yeah but Nami,Sanji , Robin and Usopp these guys have betrayed Luffy the only ones which are one of the most loyal people are Chopper,Zoro,Brook, Franky,Jinbei they are my favourite.
