  • In Shanghai there is an entire museum containing 70,000 artefacts dedicated to one man, "the people's scientist" Qian Xuesen. Qian is the father of China's missile and space programme. His research helped develop the rockets that fired China's first satellite into space, and missiles that became part of its nuclear arsenal, and he is revered as a national hero.
OK, as for today’s video, we will talk about Qian Xuesen's legendary life. Let’s get started!

Tsien was the victim of American racism and escape goat . The ‘50s McCarthyism combined communism and racism creating a potent toxic brew of nationalism, patriotism, and xenophobia. Today, the same toxic potent brew is at work - with two distinctions: non-Chinese have been attacking, robbing, and killing Chinese in the public space ( several Korean, Filipino, and Japanese were also victims due to physical resemblance). For the past decade the US corporate media publish anti China propaganda incessantly, which create a constant threat against the Asian community. Consequently , many Chinese scientists and talented Chinese have already left the USA for the homeland. History is repeating before our very eyes.

Even in the dark days of cultural revolution, he was spared of any suffering because top leaders prevented anybody from harming him, even some leaders were persecuted themselves. @@therealdeal2163 The American plane pilots were trained by Asen Yordanov (Bulgarian) between the wars. I don't remember correctly, but he was definitely less than 20 years old when he built a plane to participate in WW1. Moreover Bulgaria was the first to use planes in combat - as bombers in the first Balkan war. The treaties after WW1 ruled out the destruction of the Bulgarian air force (which was small to begin with, but the scum in London know no shame), that forced Asen to emigrate to the USA. Then in WW2 USA bombed Bulgaria - and Bulgaria wasn't participating in any battles (as a German ally) till the Red army came and took over, in the end fought with the Germans. Churchill loved the massive bombings here.
Yordanov also played essential role in designing a famous american plane (don't remember the model), also invented the airbag. And he participated in the science crew for the Apolo 11 mission. Basically everything americans have "achieved" lies on the shoulders of immigrants.

In the early 1980s when the US and China were stll on friendly terms, Qian was invited to visit the US. The then Chinese party chief Hu came to his office to press him to make the trip, saying let bygones be bygones.....Qian declined him, saying that his deportation was ordered by a US court and he would keep his promise never to set his feet on the soil of the US again.

All the comments highlighting US incompetence aside, we should still acknowledge and respect, first and foremost, the exceptional patriotism of Qian. He was determined to serve his mother nation, communist or otherwise, while leaving all the comfort of the US behind... Of course this applies to all the other highly educated Chinese scientists who decided to go to "red China" during the 50s. They were truly a dedicated, idealistic generation of people.
