I discovered The Repair Shop just few months ago, and it's become my favorite TV show. I haven't had a TV in over five years now, but I do watch the episodes in TH-cam. Absolutely in love with this program. ♥ P.S. All the restorers are amazing, each one in their own craft.
the tenderness & respect , combined with will's professional artisanship , OH ! and then there's the way he SMILES at the reveal !! i love this gentle show beyond measure ❤
I never stopped to think about how loud the power tools are until the music and narration are left out. I never get tired of watching the talented craftspeople on this wonderful show.
Tbh I wouldn't be bored if this extended film had been even longer. It's so lovely to see the crafts and skills properly on show without the constraints of the regular show
Lovely that will is a talented woodworker while also being sensitive to an authentic restoration rather than a complete rebuild with all new wood. He definitely kept the charm the gate had while making it sturdy enough to use.
What a beautiful job Will did on that lovely old gate. Now that's something to walk by, walk through and gaze at for many years of enjoyment. Roald Dahl was the first author who's books I fell in love with. I hope I can visit this cottage someday and see it all in person. Thanks for sharing!
What a treat to see this version. The Repair Shop is the only TV I watch now as it is relaxing and takes me back to a simpler place and time. I appreciate all of the artisans, craftsmen, and the families with their stories to tell. Hats off to Will for doing an amazing job with this extraordinary old cottage gate.
Will, absolutely awesome mate, I love watching you work, some of the things you achieve is just brilliant when you look at the state of them when given to you to repair. Your an absolute master. Why do I like what you do ?? Because I love working with wood too, beautiful material to work with. Cheers mate Les.
I enjoy the regular show. But just watching Will work I love. The sob stories get to me after a while. Especially the. Somebody just died, so I am going to fix this. Fix it while they are still alive.
Nails are pried out much easier if you apply some Archimedes laws of leverage. Stick a bit of scrap wood near the nail just below the head and use the head of the hammer and voila it becomes easy !
When you have two different ages of wood and stain the newer part to match the older part.... As they both age in place together... does the stain ... I'm not sure how to phrase it... Stay in sync?
With respect. Having missed out on the acceptance of this gate and you being told what was expected of you, I do not think this is a restoration. It seems to me to be "fixing it up and make it function" type of work. The word restoration is misused very often.
I think i prefer this rather than all the chatter and music. Oddly relaxing 😌
Phenominal B-roll. Hat's off to the production crew. They never get enough credit.
So very true. They’re phenominal.

Same as me! I quit watching TV over 10 years ago .I watch all of THE REPAIR SHOP SHOWS now.

I enjoy seeing the extended repair, hopefully you will do it for the other craftsmen
The only tv show i watch now..awesome effort Will
Will is amazing! You can bring him a splinter and he’ll deliver you a piece of furniture, or in this case, a gate!
Could watch Will all day...true artist
Such a nice surprise today. Thank you. Very unexpected.

Love this extended footage and would love to see it with other projects!!

Congratulations, Will. Another job well done.

One of my absolute favorite shows. Such talent and they don’t charge!!!
My favorite show!
If only ALL the shows spent this much time on ALL the projects! Re-edited Extended Play DVD's?!
Every woman's dream man. Gorgeous, talented, soft spoken and a dream with his hand. That's our Will.
Just a long hangout with Will? Awesome let’s go.
Will is like the author Roald Dahl himself - magical! Amazing! 😊❤
04:30 …. Will, as always, you never fail to impress and how Roald Dahl’s gate looked afterwards was amazing 😊…. and keep smiling, it warms my heart ❤
Will's talent is utterly amazing!!!
Will is a genius. Period.
Which period?
@@flyerphil7708 Excellent reply. 🤣🤣🤣🏴
A joy to watch - Will as mastercraftsman with both hand tools and machines!
Did we watch the same video?????
@@unclegreybeard3969 Don't know what you watched, but I watched Will repair and reinstall Roald Dahl's gate!
Will I love watching you work.
Beautiful, love it, amazing job Will
Relaxing and almost ASMR 😊

What a project!!! And a wonderful atmosphere to work in. Goes to show that Mr. Kirk’s skills are not just limited to fine furniture and cabinetry.
Wow Will brilliant work 👍🤩.
The extended videos are so cool to watch the process of these restorations!
Love these videos. Thank you from Cape Town.
Kudos to the videographer, he takes great shots!❤😊
Well done Will
That took some mad skills! Amazing!
Hopefully Will will be the future of the repair shop he’s soooo talented
Another skill under your belt.😊😊
Will is just awesome!! 👌
Good Show ❤😊.
Really enjoyed this!
B Roll at its best.
I am so missing you! Hope you are having a blast...
use a scrap piece of wood as a fulcrum for your hammer.
Love the woodworking. Very talented and creative. Not thrilled with the dark finish.
I am a hot mess. I meditate with Jeff on Calm app, then watch The Repair Shop. I'm forgiven.
Put a block of wood under that hammer and the long nail will come out easier.
I enjoy the regular show. But just watching Will work I love. The sob stories get to me after a while. Especially the. Somebody just died, so I am going to fix this. Fix it while they are still alive.
I’m sure roal darl wood approve
I hope we get to see the pattern Will carved.
Put a peice of wood under the hammer head to get the nails out easier, surprised if he does not know that lol😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤
The word bodge spring to mind
Is there nothing that Will cannot do?

Are DVD sold with THE REPAIR SHOP???
Father and son,Sometimes much to sentimental, but further on a good program with skilled employees

❤
I sent a message to the repair shop BUT I didn’t even get an acknowledgement that they received it.
Please use a small piece of wood under the hammer when pulling out nails, and pull gently NOT jerking it.
How much of the Gate is now original?
Most of it.
There's that tree again. What species of tree is that?
As far as I can tell, it's a Lebanon Cedar. It's a great looking tree. It has a charismatic presence about it.
The nail removal was brutal and would have bruised the timber.
💜❤️💚🧡🩷😊💙💛
Fix your hammer first put a block under the claw and you will find the nail will come out easier
A professional would’ve put a block of wood under that Hammer Head when removing a nail.
Great craftsmanship but if you make it that dark, you could have used any wood.
Please wear a mask when you're sanding, Will. When you're 60 you'll be coughing up dust all day.
I see he has a wedding ring on. My chances are nil.
Come on Will sort your hammer out before you break the shaft

Will,Im surprised to see you using a wooden shafted hammer, they are useless in removing nails.
Sanding inside makes no sense
Really, take some pictures and make a sketch. Then burn all the wood and start from scratch.
Not impressed. Looks like, well, crap.
Well done mate great job as always 👍❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧
