Question: Did the terminator break the elevator on purpose? Because Hal was in control as well, Hal might have been the sabotuer, and the Terminator seemed to try to stop it from crashing.
R2D2 tried to get into the system but HAL9000 prevented him and R2D2 pushed Wall-E towards the wall when he tried to stop the elevator by using the remains of the terminator and R2D2 was keeping him sturdy and helping him push harder to stop the elevator so R2D2 wasn't useless.
@Trukknotmunky I always thought the Terminator just didn't know his own strength and accidentally stabbed the elevator button, causing the system failure. He tried to help out but got caught up in the elevator mechanism. The Terminator ended up helping to prevent the crash, but not in the way he'd thought. And of course, R2D2 was useless
