Jack these are great. what a fast and easy way to transfer measurements to the table saw without needing to mess around , i wonder if you had more blocks on one with different colours if you could use one dowel to measure all 3 sides, might work well if the first block was glued in. I will be making a set of these Thank you for the great video. i love a lot of the work you do and use a lot your ideas in my shop.
***** Thanks Jack! I have always called myself that since I was in 7th grade and my woodshop teacher, Mr. Klassen, taught us the edict "Measure Twice, Cut Once" and then he would show us his 1/2 finger that he cut off years earlier and according to his story, it was because he did not measure correctly. Not sure if that is a true story, and he surely long gone, but he began calling me that when I kept reminding him to measure twice when he was giving us new instructions.
I like your gauge I am going to make some & put division markings as a guide for measurements, possibly a colour to highlight the grooves,as alway great video.
You had a Steve Ramsey moment there. PAINT! Only kidding. This is the kind of thing that having a bright colour will help with finding it. In a workshop where most everything is wood apart from the tools.
Man you are clever. Like the ideá!! Love when people are crafty and do things. Me myself just bought my first house and i now have a small "workshop" for myself and i just try to watch as much as i can on TH-cam:). Thank! Btw i subbed a few weeks ago so íf you need motivation anytime you know im watching you from Sweden and i bet you have others around the world.
What a great idea Jack! Easy to make and very useful.
Great tool, Thanks for sharing the build
What a great idea! Love the center-finder too. Nice job.
Great idea, I like that you took it to the next level and added the spring load dowel. Very smart
I love the design, Jack - particularly the spring-loaded feature.
Simple and elegant way to gauge a size and reliably use that knowledge to make repeatable cuts. Thank you.
That's cool Jack.
Nice to see a new video from you!
you never cease to amaze us.... another great project, thanks

Great! These sliding blocks are very similar to those things which are used lace dress, to tighten the hood, etc.
