I've been going to Dam #2 spot just a couple hundred yards south of there each morning and its real muddy and fast. Here's to hoping this week I'll catch something !

Dam # 2 is a solid spot when the conditions are right. Good luck!

Just came across your channel? I was wondering if you can keep those small ones or do they have to have a size limit?

No size limit on the catfish or the chubs. I personally don't keep anything from the river as I question the quality of the water

Have you ever fished the I and M canal? Wonder if the part in Willow Springs has any fish.

I have not but I'm always interested in finding new spots. I'll keep that spot in mind

@@outdoorswithmatt4709 If the weather ever warms up and stays that way for consecutive days I'm going to try it out too. I will let you know how it goes once I get out there.

What part of the des plaines is this?

I rather catch dinks than nothing but water lol. Each time I visited the river few weeks ago the current was fast. I can’t wait to get over this terrible cold so I can get out. Been indoors for 3 weeks lol

The water level is back to normal again but this yo yo weather needs to go! Hopefully that cold clears up soon!
