regarding jimin’s english, i’ve thought this for years, but he has really great pacing. he doesn’t really rush through his sentences in a way i feel like most people would in an interview in a non-native language. he takes the correct pauses and paces himself well to give a flow that’s easy to understand and nice to listen to. i think it’s also a part of his self awareness. he’s conscious of the way he might sound to others, especially to native english speakers. it’s so cool and i’m always so proud of him.
i think that jimmy’s bias towards jimin is also another level of security. i think jimin is comfortable taking things slowly around jimmy from their years of working together as well as the assurance that jimmy will fill in any gaps he might have. regardless of jimmy’s job as a talk show host, i think there’s a genuine factor of wanting jimin to be as comfortable as possible. american talk show hosts tend to care for jimin a lot in this way.
Jimin speaks Korean that way too, actually. He's the easiest of them for me to understand as a learner because when he's sitting for an audience, his delivery is carefully paced and very clear.
That's a great point. It brought immediately to mind the sketch the guys did on Colbert during the pandemic and promotions for Butter. They did the bit in English, and I remember being so impressed with Jimin's sense of pacing and timing, particularly given it was meant to be comical. He really nailed his little piece of it. Each of the members has different strengths when communicating in English, and this is his. 💜
@@evantesseract737 Another great point I hadn't considered, and so true. Jimin is such a thoughtful communicator - it can be really striking sometimes. I've also seen Korean speakers point out that even his Weverse posts are carefully written in Korean that's easier to translate directly to English. He's so mindful of what he says, and how he says it. 💜
Very good analysis. I think Jimin has a complex inner world and is possibly a highly sensitive person or empath. High emotional intelligence. And a WHOLE lot of charm. He’s also quick witted with a sarcastic sense of humor
I appreciate your comments. There is somethings so unique and special about him. I can use all kinds of adjectives to describe him from my point of you; however, it’s so refreshing to hear it come from others as well.
People who were at the filming mentioned that at some point Fallon was rushing through the lines and Jimin started laughing, to which Jimmy said "you dont understand a word right now, do you?" and they both laughed, Jimin also said "I don't speak English" in an old grumpy man voice 😁
The album is amazing. Jimin has said that he's been taking English classes lately, probably in preparation for promotions in the US. Like you say, I enjoy listening to him talk and watching him communicate with other people, because his genuine kindness and sweet nature shine through.
jimin's speech always soothes me. he speaks gently and soft. I always say I want a narration or an audio book from jimin and from yoongi too, just to put it on as a lullaby 😆
Omg, my wake up alarm is Jimin sweetly saying in Korean "It's time to get up" then escalates to him saying it in a funny way, and laughing, and then finally he just yells "Come on, GET UP!" LOL
I agree with you on this one....Jimin´s and Yoongi´s way of talking, their pace and tone....I often listen to them without understanding a single word.
I think Jimin is not only highly self aware, even more, he is other aware. I know his priority is always about others first, and he knows how to read the room. His calmness and introspection often remind me of Mr. Roger's. He is always thinking about how his actions relate to and effect others.
This was such a cute interview, Jimin's speech, rhythm and smile are all so heartwarming. Oh and did you notice the way he speaks directly to the translator when he speaks Korean? So considerate
It's the way he & all 6 of his mates were brought up. Great credit to their parents, despite their amazing phenomenal global success & acclaim, they all 7 remain humble, courteous & respectful when reqd. I feel this is their strength & what endears them all to ARMY.
Koreans, with all our high-tech capabilities, we are a culture still very much immersed in ageism. I think Jimin very much wanted to cross his leg for comfort but held himself back, not due to nerves but out of respect to his host. As per our culture, his parents likely taught him early on, not to sit cross-legged in front of elders as that can be considered rude. As we ARMY are aware, our boys are polite and well-mannered. BTW, I'm a 62 year old ARMY. We ARMY are not bound by gender, age, religion or culture ... we accept and respect all - just like BTS.
In the part of the US I'm from, it's a little bit rude to treat someone like they're more important than you are (even if they are). Some areas are much more hierarchical than others, and mine is probably the least. We're supposed to act like we're all equals, at least once we're adults. It's very comfortable for me. I work with teenagers, and the way they treat me would horrify a Korean and feels perfectly appropriate to me. 😂 I would love to visit Korea, but I have no idea how I'll feel when people defer to me because of my age. I do watch enough Korean content now that I notice when people do or don't bow, when they use honorifics - I understand what I'm seeing. But it would be different to be part of it 😁 I appreciate the note on why Jimin might not have wanted to sit more casually with Jimmy. 감사합니다 💜
Something else I’ve noticed with jimin and his posture and movements… his body has been so worked hard from his dancing activities over the years and he’s had muscle pain around neck and shoulder areas, I think he holds himself this way and moves slower, it’s become a habit to be careful with his muscles in that area.
Oh how nice, where I come from (Malaysian Chinese) we hv exactly the same indoctrinated in us since young. So even at my ripe old age (I am in my 70s, yes, I'm older than u & a granma-ARMY haha), becus it was something so ingrained fr childhood, I even automatically do not cross my legs in church! 🤭😄
I don’t know how to explain it but whenever I hear jimin speak I am so comforted and feel as I’m being given such a warm hug. The way he articulates his thoughts and sentences is so gentle and kind and genuine. And the type of tone he has when he speaks just show how incredibly in tune he is with speaking his thoughts in the most sweet and pure way. All you need to do is listen to jimin speak to know how incredibly kind and caring this man is and how big of a heart he carries. Makes me love him more than words can ever say. He makes me want to be a better person 🥺
Another thing about Jimins body movements is that since Jimin studied and practices contemporary dancing he subconsciously moves gracefully like he is a dancer. Even when he stands or poses, he puts his heels together in first position or third position. His mannerisms look like they're part of a dance move
This is so interesting. Because having being a fan of Jimin for years, I've come to "know" him quite well (as far as a fan can) and I know your analysis is totally right. Jimin gets really nervous in this kind of events, because he doesn't want to "fail" his band mates, family, country... He cares a lot, so he feels a "weight". But he has learned to compose himself, or maybe he always knew how, and so despide of that, he is such a gracious and charming person, he actually makes the viewer feel calm and is kind of mesmerazing to watch him. You are so good with your analysis, amazing!
In watching Jimin over the years……you can tell when he’s most comfortable when he crosses his legs. Here…..he’s very comfortable with Jimmy…..but he’s clearly nervous about speaking English. Jimin is a highly intelligent self aware person……regardless of nerves…..he will always find a way to PRESENT perfectly. He’s so damn adorable💜😍
true but he would never sing if someone just told him to, or dance. he get shy when he is pulled in the center of attention. he likes to be prepared in his mind on what to so. remember the butterfly dance he did for the tv show. he was so shy going up but you can se him prepare mentally before he goes into serious jimin mode. that´s why he is called the duality king. he can just switch between funny and playful to sexy and professional. like he did on his set me free pt 2 behind the scene.
Yeah, jimin is really private and keeps his private and public life really separate especially in the last couple of years honestly, out of all the members he is the one who shows us the least (for example, other members have lives / film videos /livestream in their own houses, but jimin always does it in their company building, also he really crops pictures when he posts them, a couple of times he posted that he was watching something on tv, but he cropped it that way, that you couldn’t even see what tv he has / it was just a screen) from one side, I think it’s kind of healthy, to not let millions of people into your private business but from the other…. Jimin used to be the most active member on social media, but over the years he got so much hate (he’s definitely one of the more hated members) and he literally got doxxed last year (and his mail was stolen or something like this I don’t remember everything anymore) It’s sad how really bad things can happened to a really good human
I hate it so much how miserable people throw their hate at someone who's genuinely an angel. He is such a sweet, caring, sensitive person, with the purest heart and always the member who comforts us, the Army, the most, I don't understand how can anyone hate him 😔😔💔💔 I would do anything to protect him from bullies and trolls and haters 😔❤️
I think it's good he does that. In the very early years, the BTS members were very young and BigHit had little resources and also wanted to try out new things. Some members have mentioned that they wouldn't do certain things the same way now they did them back then. They were probably also a little bit naive (or innocent) at the time and have learned since, apparently also through painful experience (which I wish they didn't have to go through). My impression is that Jimin in particular is very cautious about striking the right balance between keeping the fans happy and protecting himself. I think he's doing a great job in that, too, and I applaud him for that.
@@Romi140 his mail was stolen and his private legal documents were leaked with his social security, address and other personal information on it :( all while he was in the hospital from surgery from acute appendicitis and with covid. it was so awful :////
@@JasMin-ho6zd Omgggg how did I miss this? I remember the day it was announced that he was in the hospital with Covid and because he was getting surgery for appendicitis, I was so worried about him, and I was (as usual) following all BTS news back then but this doxxing issue somehow escaped me. How utterly evil and despicable to do that to someone who's in a freaking hospital having a surgery and to such a kind, caring person. Some people are really the worst 🤬🤬 Poor Jiminie 😔😔💔💔
i just think its so interesting that its jimin's personality that makes me gravitate towards him. he's uber talented and attractive but something about how sweet and calming and sometimes goofy he is makes me wanna support him to the end of time
Jimin is genuinely so multi-faceted (feels perfect that his album is called FACE), he's like the perfect meld of cute, inviting, charming, yet still mysterious. 👀💜
I think he was nervous because it was an English interview but he did amazing!! and yeah, the way he talks is really gentle but definitely has a bit of massiveness I'm so proud of Jimin! 💜
I'm so pleased with Jimmy for building enough of a relationship with the guys that Jimin knew he could trust him, too. I'm really proud of Jimin for all of this.
I get the impression that Jimin is well practiced in the art of inner meditation from his days studying the marshal arts. He seems to come from his center/core/ place of inner Peace where his awareness abides. Thank you for sharing your observations, it is a joy to be seen so clearly. 💜🎶☮️🤗🙏🌴
Jimin has remarkable poise, which I believe is hard-won - that's what you're picking up on. He's aware of where his body is in space, aware of the audience, aware of what his body is communicating. He's struggled with being able to show the world a sincere self. I think along the way he's learned to control what people see to an incredible degree. It's very striking to me. He shares the least about his personal life - even Suga has shared more - but many people don't realize it because he seems so open. He's warm, friendly, playful, interested in people, and I think most folks never realize they don't know much about him.
None of this is a criticism! I recognize some of it in myself. I've had times when people thought we were good friends and hadn't noticed that they knew almost nothing about me. I'm curious about Jimin's life when the camera is off, but not so curious that I want to know anything he doesn't want to share. He values his privacy - and he's been the target of so much hate and obsession. Personally, I trust that what he shares with us is sincere, and respect where he draws the lines.
This, Jimin has this aura that just makes me attractive to him like a deep connection maybe it's because I'm a gemini ♊️ idk like I just want to know what's on his mind and is he okay. Out of all the members, I truly worry about him the most. I just want him to be happy, not saying he isn't already 💜.
I loved everything that you said about Jimin. I feel like a proud mommy seeing him flying solo and doing só well. A proud 54 years young Army from Brazil.
When Jimin came out from behind the curtain, I was hardly breathing, I was so nervous for him. My understanding is that he is sensitive & shy. He has said on multiple occasions that speaking to a reporter in English is WAY more nerve-racking than dancing in front of large crowds. They all (except Joon) worry about their English skills. Pretty sure there was a translator to his right, off camera. And it wasn't live, so that would help calm his nerves. I did see several times he almost crossed his legs, and changed his mind. What a professional!!!! He kept his cool, looked at ease, and was charming. Great reaction, you captured the essence of our chim chim. The World 💜 Dr Jimin
He is very charming, such charisma, he is a superstar - confidence on stage, shyness in real life but with quite an amount of humour and flirt! Unique! I love him!🥰💜
To someone like jimin to be in an English show by yourself it's a big deal not to mention that he speaks in English that's a big improvement I'm really proud of him he shows us he's maturity ❤️ So sad that they didn't do this earlier (the solo thing) but it's okay I'm happy and proud about everything bts is doing right now and for the meantime it's jimin prime time ✨✨✨😭
Jimin has a beautiful personality and is a very humble person and I believe that is reflected in interview. Of course Jimin would have been very happy to have Army supporting him. BTS always loves Army presence at events :)
Jimin did very well on the show, he was comfortable with Fallon, who is so good with him, Jimin was confident and held his own speaking in Korean and English which was impressive. I am proud of Jimin, it's amazing to see how far he's come now making a successful solo debut
BTS have been on The Tonight show several times and get along very well with Jimmy Fallen. That is one of the reasons Jimin chose to be on his show for his solo debut.
Jimmy has always treated them well - he's a very gentle host - and seems to generally find them delightful. I'm glad they have an American show they can go to for promotions and trust they'll be treated well.
Thank you for saying this, or I would've had to. Jimin & Jimmy have met many times already so, yeah, he's comfortable... Not using his translator was a boss move. But he had no reason to be uncomfortable.
Choreographing the interview is probably accurate.. Both physical choreography of how to sit, hand movements, posture, smiles, and also verbal choreography of which questions will be asked and the answers Jimin will give. 2 things come to mind for me. First, professional dancers whose nightmare is being asked to give an impromptu freestyle. You can be an expert in your field, but being put on the spot without any sort of script as an anchor is difficult for a lot of people. Second, oral exams for secondary language classes. For French in high school and Japanese in college, all my oral exams used conversational prompts. Having a particular subject to work with was key to not completely floundering and having all the words/phrases I memorized fly out of my head. With Jimin's interview, I imagine it's pretty scripted. Maybe not word for word, but I'm sure Jimin and Jimmy ironed out what questions Jimmy would ask, which is done for all/most of Jimmy's interviews anyway. Jimin could memorize the questions and prepare answers ahead of time. The safety net is that if Jimin stumbles, Jimmy is an expert and can redirect or help clarify, which we've seen Jimmy do with countless other celebrities who even speak English as a first language. That's what makes Jimmy such a great host. Not just putting people at ease, but the tact and skill of steering a conversation where it needs to go.
Yep! The interview was prepared with safety nets -- like there's an interpreter onstage (not shown on camera and edited out) as well. But Jimin really delivered his prepared answers so well, and also managed to respond on the fly with simple words throughout -- which i think is so good. Jimmy is a great host too!
@@ellaodiase4643 context was that jimin said “i don’t speak english” simply because jimmy was speaking english too quickly for him to listen to the question well.
Jimin is a professional sportsman! He has high ranks in five kinds of martial arts. He can control his feeling and his body! In addition he is a charming person by nature! Few people can resist his charms!
Self-aware is a great descriptor of Jimin! Self aware of himself and how others around him are affected so he makes sure to help them be comfortable by regulating himself
It would be great to compare Jimin’s movements with the other members on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, versus him alone on the same show. Jimin with BTS is one thing and Jimin alone is another. How he carries himself as a solo artist os very different to how he can rely on the others when they are together. And also, he’s the only one, out of the three members who have the solo albums out, who has gone to the USA to promote his album. That is amazing
He was my first bias in BTS and the first person I have ever biased! 💜💜💜 He is so sweet! He's special to me! He is always respectful towards all people and all animals! The lyrics of his solo songs are so creative! ❤💜
So glad to see you reacting to this sooo quickly. Frankly speaking, I agree with almost 100% of how you see Jimin. And the album is a gem. Thanks and have a wonderful day~!
I just wanna say- the album is so good. It's breaking records left and right! My personal favourites are Like Crazy and Alone!! I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.
Haha. 95% innocent. For sure. Chimchim is sweet, sensitive and caring. He not only dances/sings, but performs. JK has also called out JM on his mischief, also adding that JM knows that he's cute and can get away with mischief. xD
At the beginning of the interview, sometimes I thought Jimin would stand up and bow because that's cultural and he does that a lot. Jimin was a little nervous, his first solo interview being in English but he was really good. 💜
I always feel so much tension, it's hard for me to watch anything where BTS is being interviewed in English. But then, I pretty much feel a lot of tension in any American talk show, and find it hard to enjoy because of that. For BTS, it's not just the language barrier, but the culture barrier as well. If you watch them on Korean shows, you can see that the expectations are so different. They are used to bowing, because that is what is done in their culture, and I just feel their sense of unfamiliarity with what is done in America. They do a great job of it, but I think it must be so stressful for them! I probably take this on myself unnecessarily, but that's how I feel when I watch them. I love so much seeing them in their own element, where they feel comfortable, which is why all their behind-the-scenes content is so wonderful--because there they are free to be themselves. ❤ That being said, I'm so proud of Jimin for taking that on, and he did so well with his English!! Plus, he KILLED it with his performance!
you're right🥰 I heard from my friend who works in K pop industry. Jimin is very humble, calm, nice, kind, very warm, thoughtful and intelligent person.(She said other members are also very nice) But he is super shy so he's not easy to get close to. Maybe it's because they were business contacts. So I'm soooo proud of him. He's doing amazing job without members.💜💜💜💜💜💜
I feel kind of patronizing to be judging someone else's language proficiency - but Jimin's English is so good!! He has grown up so much right in front of our eyes.
Hi Max! On Hobi’s bday Weverse live when Jimin was with him, he mentioned that Jimin was taking English lessons but Jimin with a laugh said it was supposed to be a secret (I think is what he said) and that it’s only been 3 weeks. 😅. And both starred laughing. He probably did all this to prep for his promotion. So proud of him!
He is nervous coz his not used to speak in English, but it's so good that he tried, and thanks to Jimmy Fallon for his patient that Jimin can feel comfortable
Performing might be all he knows. They started when they were just babies. He's without his buddies, so he stands out more than what he's used to. Great video!
His ENGLISH STUNNED me! It was very nice to hear it. I LOVE their KOREAN (even though I have no idea what they’re saying) but to hear him speak in my tongue is so ENDEARING! I KNOW it’s very difficult to learn another language so I’m so grateful for his time to learn. JIMIN is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Thank you, Max, for your reaction. I always appreciate hearing from you. I, could feel his nervousness, and he overcame and gave a great interview!
Stumbled across your channel today, and this is the first video of yours I've watched - I really enjoyed your analysis of this interview and of Jimin! I feel you've broken down his characteristics and personality very well, and I appreciate your positive stance too. I'm looking forward to watching more!
There's an interpreter on stage (not shown onscreen and edited to look seamless) who translates but even still, Jimin responding in english is really a whole new level! he delivered perfectly the parts of his answers that im sure he prepared, and also responded impromptu in simple english words in some responses to jimmy! he said he's been practising his english, and it really paid off! I'm sure he can understand some parts of what Jimmy is saying, especially the shorter questions with vocab that is simpler.
I enjoyed listening to your analysis. I'm a big fan of Jimin's (well, I like all of the BTS members, but I have a particular soft spot for Jimin). I nodded my head to practically everything you said, but I wouldn't have been able to put it in words. You pinned it down for me, and very nicely so. Thank you for that! As for Jimin, I think he is so nice and polite and sensitive that he is aware that the person he's talking to might feel a bit uncomfortable or worried if they notice Jimin is nervous. So he is making an effort for them to keep his nervousness under control. He is so special!
So loved your review of this “ interview” . I always look forward to your insights into BTS members’ personalities as it seem to be accurate to a “ T’!! Also love your voice.
You got him analyzed just right. I can see that he his a fun guy and once he get his English down he will Crack us up, because then he can be himself. The fun loving out going guy that we have all come to love. Charm and all❤
Jimin has long standing anxiety. And he is all alone without his members. So he would be nervous. Very. I'm so proud of him to be able to pull this through.
Mischievous is the best word or cheeky. My favorite kind of people. He moves like a dancer, which he is, but more specifically, a classically trained dancer. I wonder if that is what you can't a read on. I have noticed it in other famous ballet dancers. That quality of being very still, yet full of motion at the same time. Like a large cat lying around, with the ability to move quickly at any second. It isn't very common. But I adore it. Something to aspire to. Love your breakdowns. 😘💜🫰🏻
He was really nervous but at the same time, he is very professional. Jimin is really conscious with his body language but he is a very mellow and happy guy he plays off of who he is talking to and very considerate of the audience and who he is speaking to the fact that the Army was there to help him at ease too because to Jimin and BTS Army is family. There was part of the interview that got cut out he told Jimmy that he does not speak English well and he switched to Korean for that in-depth answer you saw there.
Right on. Love Jimin’s personality, awareness of others and himself. He’s charming, incredibly talented and you just want him to succeed. Plus he’s a fighter and I believe incredibly strong, otherwise he couldn’t have persisted. Have tremendous respect for him. 👏👏👏🙇♀️
Jimin is in some ways very open about his feelings, emotions, dreams and sort of his daily life, but at the same time he never really speaks about his family, friends, home or private life in general. He may tell us about what he ate for dinner, but for example when we know he went on holiday with his friend bc of photos(on his own instagram as well) he never addresses it or talk about his very famous close friends. He told us a story about him going to see a friend for his birthday, but it was later revealed by said(or unsaid) friend Ha Sungwoon that it was actually his birthday and that Jimin came over because he couldn’t get hold of him via phone. That’s the type of person Jimin is. One who’d go across town to his friends house because he didn’t answer the phone on his birthday. And we’d never known from Jimin himself.
I've always thought that Jimin has such a calming presence. He speaks so calmly and softly and really makes you feel at ease. I commented on a previous video that his vlives are always so comforting for this reason. I was so impressed with his English in this interview and although this would have been pretty nerve-wracking for him, he did incredibly well and still seemed extremely calm and collected. So proud of him! 💜
Thanks for your reaction to this interview. I'm no expert, by I totally agree. Part of Jimin's charm is his gentle and inviting nature. He's the first member I noticed when I started looking into BTS. And now that you mentioned it, that 5% naughty and mysterious side did me in lol. That almost constant smirk and smiling eyes had me wondering what he knew that I didn't 😅 So so lovable, though...
'Are the members learning English?' (from an interview)... RM: 'Suga is taking lessons. J-Hope is taking lessons. Jimin, Jimin is taking no lessons.' Jimin taps RM on the shoulder: 'Netflix!' RM: 'OK, Jimin is watching Netflix.'
Shows usually have many p frequently used phrases. I saw a recommendation to watch a light show for a few seasons with no subtitles. I’m not very patient, but I’m trying. I saw a guy saying he has better language learning results when he does it vs when he doesn’t l I wonder how much Jimin had time to watch
The way Jimin communicates is the way I am looking to connect with people. I like they way he calm and quiet, warm and inviting. Some times I think I am too easily excitable and very intense, which is nice in some situations, but I would like to be more of a serene presence usually…
Jimin is extremely well trained in his dancing and martial arts. I believe this has given him his self awareness of his body movements at all times. Jimin has a black belt in Taekwondo and 8 years training in Kendo (a type of fencing). He also trained in other martial arts too. He trained in K-pop and Hip Hop in elementary school. He was good at it and won some completions in it. He trained in other dances such as, ballet, Japanese dance and some other dances. Then he decided to train in contemporary dance. He said this changed the way he danced and because of this, BitHits did not decide to keep him until the day before he debuted. He was almost let go 8 times before making the team. Jimin was not trained in singing at this time because of the uncertainty of being in the group. He was the last one to join the group and had only 6-9 months training before the debut. The other members had trained for 2 to 3 years. Jimin wanted to sing so he asked V and JK if he could sit in their vocal training sessions and they said yes. Jimin would then go off to himself to practice what he had learned. Although he had no official training in singing, he became the lead vocalist. He was assigned the high notes plus he had the toughest choreography. If you notice when he is performing, he goes to one end to the other end and in-between the dance. He was often critized because his voice cracked sometimes and he ran out of breath at times too. This was due to his lack of training. Jimin is a fighter and has now become the first solo Korean singer/dancer to become #1 on the Billboard charts. This is a huge deal. This is history. If you are interested, go to Jimin's main dancer video, Jimin's lead singer video, and his martial arts video as well as other videos about Jimin's struggles in the beginning. Congratulations Jimin🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Man you're not the only one trapped in Jimin's misterious aura mantra, like Namjoon ever said once you jim in, you cannot jim Out and i think this is the time he should shine brighter aside BTS Vacum, that caused by Jimin's charm, hope he can do more American interview or world tours sooner or even hire in hollywood cinematic cos man can act

I would think that he rehearsed what he was going to say. He said he wasn't learning English when the others said they were but no doubt he's put in a lot of effort to learn to help with his promo for the album. He is at ease with Jimmy Fallon. They get on well so that helps because Jimin isn't feeling so much pressure with him.
I love that Jimin appeared on Jimmy Fallon! He was wonderful, charming, charismatic (basically just himself) and it was a huge gift for us fans. Many thanks to both Jimin and Jimmy and many thanks to Max for his always insightful reactions!
As I considered the thoughts you were sharing, the word that came to mind is 'composed'. Jimin is very self-aware and thoughtful, and yes, seems to have developed a composure for himself as a default setting that really makes him comfortable to watch, despite whatever nerves he may be battling internally. It's really a lovely skill, because as you say, it doesn't come from a place of inauthenticity, but self-awareness instead. I was so endeared by this whole interview.. Thank you for the reaction! 💜

People who were at the filming mentioned that at some point Fallon was rushing through the lines and Jimin started laughing, to which Jimmy said "you dont understand a word right now, do you?" and they both laughed, Jimin also said "I don't speak English" in an old grumpy man voice 😁
That's just adorable to me😭 i want to see it
Awww I’m sad I missed it
So so proud of his English, he improved so much🥲!!! And yes exactly a bright soul soothing presence with a hint of playfulness and mischief
Ooohhh yes definitely, me too. Those two are just the most calming wise and gentle souls I would be buying those audio books for sure.
Me too✋️ Jm & Sg are cool amazing guys💜💜💜
Omg, my wake up alarm is Jimin sweetly saying in Korean "It's time to get up" then escalates to him saying it in a funny way, and laughing, and then finally he just yells "Come on, GET UP!" LOL
Where did you get that from? Bon Voyage in Malta? lol
I wondered if there was a translator with him, especially when his longer answers were English subtitles.
It was seamless .
G DRAGON KING ,
It's the way he & all 6 of his mates were brought up.
Interesting point. Yeah I could totally see that being the case too.
I would love to visit Korea, but I have no idea how I'll feel when people defer to me because of my age. I do watch enough Korean content now that I notice when people do or don't bow, when they use honorifics - I understand what I'm seeing. But it would be different to be part of it 😁
I appreciate the note on why Jimin might not have wanted to sit more casually with Jimmy. 감사합니다 💜
Something else I’ve noticed with jimin and his posture and movements… his body has been so worked hard from his dancing activities over the years and he’s had muscle pain around neck and shoulder areas, I think he holds himself this way and moves slower, it’s become a habit to be careful with his muscles in that area.
@@rbsmmm oh yeah, I hadn't thought about that but it absolutely could be!
Yeah, jimin is really private and keeps his private and public life really separate
especially in the last couple of years
honestly, out of all the members he is the one who shows us the least (for example, other members have lives / film videos /livestream in their own houses, but jimin always does it in their company building, also he really crops pictures when he posts them, a couple of times he posted that he was watching something on tv, but he cropped it that way, that you couldn’t even see what tv he has / it was just a screen)
from one side, I think it’s kind of healthy, to not let millions of people into your private business
but from the other…. Jimin used to be the most active member on social media, but over the years he got so much hate (he’s definitely one of the more hated members) and he literally got doxxed last year (and his mail was stolen or something like this I don’t remember everything anymore)
It’s sad how really bad things can happened to a really good human
Did he really get doxxed last year?😔 Somehow I missed that (and I've been army for 2+ years now)
@@Romi140 his mail was stolen and his private legal documents were leaked with his social security, address and other personal information on it :( all while he was in the hospital from surgery from acute appendicitis and with covid. it was so awful :////
Some people are really the worst 🤬🤬 Poor Jiminie 😔😔💔💔
i just think its so interesting that its jimin's personality that makes me gravitate towards him. he's uber talented and attractive but something about how sweet and calming and sometimes goofy he is makes me wanna support him to the end of time
Thank you. He’s a gentle soul with a tremendous drive to succeed.
I think this is a big step for Jimin, he was clearly nervous, but now he will know that he can handle this type of situation. He is charm personified.
Jimin is genuinely so multi-faceted (feels perfect that his album is called FACE), he's like the perfect meld of cute, inviting, charming, yet still mysterious. 👀💜
I think he was nervous because it was an English interview but he did amazing!! and yeah, the way he talks is really gentle but definitely has a bit of massiveness
I'm so proud of Jimin! 💜
I'm so pleased with Jimmy for building enough of a relationship with the guys that Jimin knew he could trust him, too. I'm really proud of Jimin for all of this.
He did very well. The perfect example of giving the best. I learn so much from him, my bias Jin and Jimin.
I get the impression that Jimin is well practiced in the art of inner meditation from his days studying the marshal arts. He seems to come from his center/core/ place of inner Peace where his awareness abides. Thank you for sharing your observations, it is a joy to be seen so clearly. 💜🎶☮️🤗🙏🌴
Agreed
Once RM said Jimin was King of chemistry. He's never made others awkward or uncomfortable.
Incredible poise. And well said. I look forward to exploring more of Jimin.
So true. I think the other person who's revealed little of his inner life is perhaps surprisingly Jin. Suga is almost an open book!
@@evantesseract737 this everything you said
Totally agree
Jimin's always been the most approachable member. He's a Libra and has a very balanced personality.
@@markeiaparnell6070 💛💜
I loved everything that you said about Jimin.
I feel like a proud mommy seeing him flying solo and doing só well.
A proud 54 years young Army from Brazil.
Eu também 😊tenho 53 anos vive em Lisboa.
Unique! I love him!🥰💜
Jimin is really in tune to his surrounding! Always in check and he’s a warm hug because he make you feel important! 💜✊🏽💜
Jimin is a comfort to everyone. He is healer in that way. He is a gentle soul and puts others first.
To someone like jimin to be in an English show by yourself it's a big deal not to mention that he speaks in English that's a big improvement I'm really proud of him he shows us he's maturity ❤️
So sad that they didn't do this earlier (the solo thing) but it's okay I'm happy and proud about everything bts is doing right now and for the meantime it's jimin prime time ✨✨✨😭
Jimin has a beautiful personality and is a very humble person and I believe that is reflected in interview.
Jimin is just an awesome human being ❤
Jimmy is a lovely interviewer in general - his aw-shucks schtick puts people at ease. He's very gentle.
Yep! The interview was prepared with safety nets -- like there's an interpreter onstage (not shown on camera and edited out) as well. But Jimin really delivered his prepared answers so well, and also managed to respond on the fly with simple words throughout -- which i think is so good. Jimmy is a great host too!
They didn’t plan this because he asked one question and Jimin said I don’t speak English 😂they removed it
@@ellaodiase4643 context was that jimin said “i don’t speak english” simply because jimmy was speaking english too quickly for him to listen to the question well.
Jimin is a professional sportsman! He has high ranks in five kinds of martial arts. He can control his feeling and his body! In addition he is a charming person by nature! Few people can resist his charms!
Jimin is such a professional in every sense. You’re right he is mysterious and so sweet at the same time. How can anyone not love him.
7:37 EXACTLY.
I literally fell for him when I was knowing them, seeing how graceful he is it was just so un believable
The album is REALLY good. He is experimenting and we get to hear his full range of vocals. And the album is a story. And addictive.
I think Jimin is not only has self-awareness but also feels others.
Big time.
Loved his album - they explored different musical and voice styles but he did well
I just wanna say- the album is so good. It's breaking records left and right! My personal favourites are Like Crazy and Alone!! I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.
Very astute. Even though Jimin may be nervous, he doesn't make others feel nervous. He is able to make others at ease despite how he feels.
Haha. 95% innocent. For sure. Chimchim is sweet, sensitive and caring. He not only dances/sings, but performs. JK has also called out JM on his mischief, also adding that JM knows that he's cute and can get away with mischief. xD
He sounds so cuuuuuute I was smiling the whole time watching him speaking English and his smile awwww We ARMY so proud of him!! ♥
At the beginning of the interview, sometimes I thought Jimin would stand up and bow because that's cultural and he does that a lot. Jimin was a little nervous, his first solo interview being in English but he was really good. 💜
Loved this 💜 I watched the interview with Jimin so many times!! He’s really come a long way especially with his English!
Plus, he KILLED it with his performance!
you're right🥰
I heard from my friend who works in K pop industry.
Jimin is very humble, calm, nice, kind, very warm, thoughtful and intelligent person.(She said other members are also very nice) But he is super shy so he's not easy to get close to.
Maybe it's because they were business contacts.
So I'm soooo proud of him.
He's doing amazing job without members.💜💜💜💜💜💜
for me, jimin has always been extremely magnetic and charming. love him and so proud of him 😭💗
I´m so proud of him. He took this big challenge with great grace and has succeeded.
Jimin always makes me smile. It's interesting that he drops safe names. I wish I could see it in full, but it's not available in my country. 😢😅
i 'm proud of how far Jimin have come. love him.
I feel kind of patronizing to be judging someone else's language proficiency - but Jimin's English is so good!! He has grown up so much right in front of our eyes.
So happy to see jimin on the Fallon Show! My man is nervous but showed grace and class through out the interview!
You should watch Jimin talking with Suga on SUCHWITA, he is really comfortable and in his element thereXD
Oh I loved this Jimin analysis! He's so interesting to me I would love more rection videos to Jimin!
I personally think Jimin is 80% innocence & 20% mischievous. 😉😊 - And I ADORE him. 💜💜 - I love this album and am so happy for him. Great interview.
You got him analyzed just right. I can see that he his a fun guy and once he get his English down he will Crack us up, because then he can be himself. The fun loving out going guy that we have all come to love. Charm and all❤
I love how you respond gently describe jimin 🫠❤️🔥 or in simple words - you’re a cute & nice person, thanks for the reaction ,bro !¡
Jimin has long standing anxiety. And he is all alone without his members. So he would be nervous. Very. I'm so proud of him to be able to pull this through.
Does he have a history with anxiety? Or just self deprecation/ negative self talk
Just wondering how Jimin would feel & his react after Jimmy Fallon interview. He was so funny in Ddeun Dean show with Sugar,
You should watch the skit he and Jimmy do it is very funny. He’s album it awesome. The song seem to follow the same stages as grief.

Max, you've so clearly experienced the Jimin Effect. You're legit blushing talking about how graceful our Mochi is.
jimin is such a sweetheart.
"Hes 95% innocent" hahaha loved that❤ love all your videos!!
Thank you, Max. I and always love your reactions and insights. Jimin really is a sweetheart.
There's a sayin' "Once you jimIN you can't jimOUT"! that's my bias. 😁💜
It was so interesting seeing Jimin through your eyes! I really resonated with your insights. Thank you for another great video..💜
He speaks better English than I can with Korean. Proud of him!
He's comfortable with Jimmy because he's been on his show so many times.
'Are the members learning English?' (from an interview)...
RM: 'Suga is taking lessons. J-Hope is taking lessons. Jimin, Jimin is taking no lessons.'
Jimin taps RM on the shoulder: 'Netflix!'
RM: 'OK, Jimin is watching Netflix.'
Congratulations Jimin🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
omg Max you're going to love the new Suchwita with Jimin!
When Jimin does a live video I find I watch his lips. He speaks so softly and sweet. It’s calming to watch how his face moves when he is talking.
I’m so proud of Jimin going to America and doing an interview solo with limited English, he did so well and thank you Jimmy for making our mochi so comfortable when he was so nervous, we are so proud of you Jimin 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Jimin has been studying English & actually said so during a live.
I love your comments about the little bit of mischief he has. Totally agree
