£30k doesn't register with its target audience as 99% will be PCP'd up for £x per month.
I'm sure it'll do well , even in a saturated segment of the market - bought by people who have zero interest in car's and driving, just like its competitors.

I thought the suspension was excellent, the steering vague but same as every other car. the interior both funky and classy, it drove nice, and my music through bluetooth blew me away with the clarity, and this one didnt have the bose in the headrests, but was full leather and I guess a step down from this car in the video. After having ridiculously reliable Yaris 1.33 CVT for 2 years got sick of wind and road noise and said gearbox. Swapped for a Renault Captur DCI edc (twin clutch). Love it. Basically it's 2 years progress over the Yaris ('13 design versus '11). If Nissan want to lend me the Juke 1.0 T dual clutch, doubt it's 6 years progress but it's probably quite nice. They are expensive though.

  • @drunksupportcharacter
    @drunksupportcharacter ปีที่แล้ว +9

The only unfortunate thing about my juke RS i had was that CVT auto box, May be silly but it could of been so much with a traditional auto or a dual clutch, the big problem for myself was the A Pillar and rather hard to peep around corners and it did feel cheap but relatively well fitted, more utilitarian as they say, the body roll in the old one was so funny, go 20 around a roundabout and you feel like you are doing 2 wheels, was kinda charming around my parts heh, I said i wanted one when they were released, so im glad i owned it at the end of the day.

Great video as always Matt. I only just watched this but it's timed perfectly as I had a 1 Litre Juke last week for a day as a hire car. I have to say I was quietly impressed. I thought it was quite nippy esp in sport - lol mode! It felt confutable and even plush inside. Got over 40 MPG in the 1 litre Petrol and I noticed that the data on the car was saying it has achieved 59 mpg - there is an eco mode too so that's pretty good. One thing that your vid mentioned was the EV button. I had a Hyundai EV last year and that just smoothly went from battery to engine and vice versa seamlessly without any buttons or switches. Anyway, thanks for the brilliant vids Matt, keep up the great work.

The thing that I like when in your last video about the Previous Gen juke when you bought up an example of other cars that others would consider as 'ugly' due to their unconventional styling that splits opinions, here's how I compare these vehicles to based on their reputation:
The Chrysler PT Cruiser would be Quentin Tarrantino:
Retro design with front being inspired by the Plymouth Prowler, which is car that borrows it's influence from 60s hot rods, then chrysler makes it unique & takes the front of the prowler and puts it on a hatchback, kinda how to tarrantino maintains a classic film influence to how it pays homage to that particular genre in his movies (like, resovoir dogs, pulp fiction & kill Bill)
Fiat Multipla Would be Susan Boyle:
A car with divisive appearance but it has a decent engine & was spacious that you can take out the rear passenger seats, to how Susan boyle went from an x-factor contestant to creating music albums & single later on in her career.
Nissan Juke Would Be Adam Sandler:
A very Unfocused obscure design that tries to be cool & funky, similarly to how Sandler in the movies he stars in who tries to be comedic & funny (like Happy Gilmore, Jack & Jill) his career is overshadowed by the films thart are negativity received but made a crap to of money in the box office, to same how the Juke's relatively poor styling & limited room space in the interior sold in total of a million units of the past decade. That it makes nissan's other best-selling model, the Qashqai look like George Clooney in comparison.
But at least the 2nd gen juke was fine but slightly improved a bit of the major problems with the Previous Gen Juke, to kinda how Sandler gets decent roles (such as Uncut Gems , Hustle )
But still, I think there are better cars out there I would say like the Toyota C-hr, Peugeot 408 Or Kia Stonic.

A button on the key fob to open the boot can be a nightmare:
In the old Xsara sometimes i would press by chance and then would need to stop and go out to lock it. Sometimes the person at the petrol station would also pop it open by chance.
Them, on the focus MK3, I would sometimes open the boot, assume the car was unlocked, go to the driver's door and try to unlock it just to find out it was still locked. When it was raining, it was a mess.
Since then, I avoid cars with those.

However the car turned out to be far too small and the worst bit was the tide which is brutal. Front seat and rear seat passenger car sick within 5 miles and the kids hated the back. Had to take it back and go for another contract cost a bloody fortune but I’d say imo not a great car for families or anyone with even the slightest motion sickness.

My Grandad opted for one of these 2 years ago on a lease due to it only costing £250 a month. Anyway, it goes back next month and it’s alright I suppose. Standout point has to be the Bose audio system though: truly excellent. However, there are quite a few dislikes that come with it. The first is the ride, perhaps not helped by the Tekna+ 19 inch alloys, is incredibly firm in town. The manual gearbox isn’t particularly nice to use, and seems to have developed an increasingly loud whine particularly at lower speeds. The built quality isn’t fantastic either: the panel gaps aren’t what you’d call brilliant, and the plastics creak more than you’d think they should particularly when you put your head back on those Bose headrests. And lastly the 1.0l engine isn’t really enough to carry the juke- sure, it’s fairly efficient at around 40 to gallon, but I just can’t see it lasting particularly well in the long run, particularly with the regular customer of the Juke being slightly dubious when it comes to servicing. Anyway, all in all I suppose it was a decent car for the 2 years, I’m just not convinced it’ll go the distance beyond that like an older more efficient diesel would that the government seem so intent on us getting rid of. Great video as always though Matt, and it’s great that manufacturers are sending cars across to you now 👍

30 years ago you got 12 months warranty, and that was your lot, so 3 years now is very generous me thinks Matt. In my eyes it still looks a dreadfully car, and at £30k that explains why everyone nowadays does a PCP deal.

Not my choice but i drive a 2017 1.6l cvt for work 165000 miles, the only non service item was a water pump at 155000. Not even a bulb gone. An indicated 43 mpg so probably 38mpg No wear on the interior. If you dont believe me, ask Matt to do a video of it.

WOW! 42mpg! That’s almost exactly the same fuel consumption as I get out of my 3 litre diesel Mercedes CLS. I think I know which one I prefer 🤣. Great review though Matt 👍

Quite brave of Nissan to loan Matt a Juke given his views on the previous model! The styling is an improvement and looks quite nice inside although very much like a lot of these SUV/Crossovers or whatever they are calling them these days. Not cheap and the mpg is hardly amazing. No surprise that Matt won't be buying one although there will be a couple on his forecourt in a few years time.

I drive the Juke Hybrid for over a year now. average 56-60mpg in Summer, 30-44 Winter with heating on. I don't think, the intended audience of Juke are "single mums or grandparents" as you stated.

    • @kefaspl
      @kefaspl ปีที่แล้ว

@Not_BhiLZA if you mea. Mk1 juke it had the same grades as new gen jukes. For petrol juke, nconnecta is midrange but only 1 below max spec as tekna+ is purely cosmetic upgrade of tekna. On hybrid nconnecta is starting trim. You get a good car but with no extras such as heating pack, headrest speakers or aerial view camera system.

@@kefasplyeah but that trim it’s honestly too expensive 30k for a juke is a bit of a stretch

I work in the motor trade and have driven original and newer Jukes, manual and auto, and taking all into account (driving, space, looks etc) renamed them ‘Puke’. Guess that gives away all I think! It genuinely is the worst vehicle I’ve ever had to drive, and in my job I drive vehicles across the whole sector. The only thing that could be ‘coped’ with is that the new interior feels nicer. Otherwise, don’t know why anyone would ever buy one………then my sister bought one 🤦🏼‍♂️

What can you get for 30k in the second-hand market unless it's a £250 lease deal? It's just not worth it, shame really, but the miles per gallon does take me away from my Audi; £30K gets you an excellent electric car or a VW Tiguan facelift, keep up the great content Matt 😎

Is this 4x4? As I want to do off-roading?
Has it had a full valet? As I'm not a tramp.

It’s miles better in the cabin than the previous car, which imho was very plasticky. My mother has a new version and it definitely has a quality built feel to it.

Update: Our 2024 Juke arrived, ordered in October 2023 and delivered on the exact day it was due in February 2024. Built in the UK, British workmanship at its best. We still own Alfa Romeo's (a 156 Sport with 3,200 miles from new and an Alfa Spider with 7,325). In addition, a 1963 MG Midget, 16v 5-speed, Frontline Developments worked. The Juke is just fine. NO REPLY NECESSARY.

    I am probably not first!
    Exactly, im second 😭
Jokes aside, the interior is miles better but is made rather dull by the black alcantara and dark plastics.
If it had the soft plastics of a Bmw X2 and the jazziness of a T-Cross. Then it could be fantastic! I will admit, it will cost a whole lot more but comparing the prices of crossovers nowadays, it will blend right in. I personally own a BMW X2 M35i and the soft matte plastics along with the aluminium dash makes it feel quite luxurious! Also, as a Sunderland resident, i dont know if i should feel deeply depressed or not 😂

Good review Matt but is 42mpg all that great? I know I frequently bang on about my 10 year old CT200h but I'm averaging over 57mpg in that, so 42 sounds a bit lackluster.
I recently had a courtesy car which was the Lexus CT200h replacement model and I could only get low 40s mpg out of that!
    Progress...I don't think so.

  • @markmundy3435

Things must be on the up if Nissan are taking note (see what I did there?) of your thoughts on one of their cars and must be very confident about the work thats gone into the new model to let you loose in one, with their blessing. I just can't help but think, surely there are going to be one or two new EV buyers that will feel a little let down when they find out that the real world mpg is 42mpg. My 200bhp oil burner will best that around town and on a run, if I drive like Miss Daisy do the best part of 20mpg more. I must say, the new model is a vast improvement over the old pig ugly one looks wise but you just know it will still be driven by school run mums who barely passed their test at the fourth time of asking and have hardly improved since and think its everyone elses job to drive safely, and not theirs because they have children in the car.

Yeah think 2019 was the last year . We have a budget of 16k and they’re about with around 25-30 k miles on them . Need one with least mileage the better . Other choice would probably be a Renault Kadjar or Captur ( wife’s choice )
