  • In this video, I will show you how to compute the time period from the Rayleigh method and empirical relation. In addition to it, I will also show you how to compute story shear manually and check with ETABS value. Also, we will thoroughly discuss the exponent related to the structural period (k).

    why don't you use the time period determined from Eigen value analysis from your software?

    Suppose, i passed all the members from the calculation of time period with emperical formula and then checked with rayleigh method and found time as minimum and then modified coefficients. This may cause the change in member sizes which ultimately changes the mass.. Does this trial continue until both the time periods are equal or what?
