Hi Rusty, I grew up in NW Kansas, Goodland to be exact and we had storm chasers come through all the time, it was very exciting. I experienced many tornadoes in town and in the country where my grandparents lived on a farm. I want to move to the Villages in the next couple of years and greatly appreciate your channel because I still love to hear about storms of all kinds. Praying for you and everyone in the path of Milton to stay safe.

Have you spent much time in FLA. the humidity is brutal.
      And storms are getting worse.
I’d rather live in tornado alley. And that’s still dicey.
With climate change, things are continually getting worse.
People can deny all they want.
But the facts are hard to deny.

I have lived on the gulf coast all of my 54 years and I have never-repeat-never seen a hurricane do this. Mexico to FL?!?! I’m not much of a tinfoil hat person (although I have my moments, haha)…but this is nuts. We have a high over us in S. Texas right now and I’m guessing that’s why. Hurricanes always take the path of least resistance. Anyone else remember in the last 50 years…a storm carving out a direct W-E route across the gulf? I’ll be glad to hear it.

Hey, This one going to HURT. Yes there has been hurricanes the started over in the western gulf and hit Florida. Not a lot. 4 or so.
Good time to take a trip to Philly the weather I hear up there is kind of a little cooler. I know I'm debating they said the storm could be a cat 4 or a CAT 5 too. Time to go by Monday 6am if i go. The way Skip Smith said a lot of houses had shingle damage by you well shingles shouldn't come off at 65mph gusts that what you had. Usually around 89 to 92 mph and on the back side of the eye is when you'll see the shingles and the roofs are coming off😮 yeah it's not the front part of the eye you got to worry about it's the back side that's the spot that does all the damage at least every hurricane I've been in that's what's done it good luck

outside Utility Companies, trucks, manpower, materials, etc should be at the GA border to come in after it passes which would be proactive and will save lives for those dependent on medical devices in homes, nursing homes and hospitals as needed, ask your Mayor, state representatives to get help staged ahead of time, like National Guards-Rescue Equipment, Humvees, Fire Trucks w Extension Ladders, Helicopters Etc no one should drown be ready help your neighbor if you’re able

I can't wrap my brain around how people move to Florida. The humidity, the heat, the bugs, the gators and the likely threat of hurricanes every year. There's simply no plus side to moving or retiring in Florida. None, whatsoever.

I truly believe they do. It's hitting places so people can't vote, another place that has lithium in the ground and a company had already applied.for permits to extract, etc. They tried to associate twice, that didn't work. So make it happen people can't vote. Consirecy theory, sure, use your common sense what has been happening.

I don't understand why people would choose to live in Florida when you have to get all stressed out and worried every hurricane season. Especially central Florida, where you don't even have a beach. As an Ohioan, where our winters are generally mild, I resent the fact that Duke Energy groups our two states together in their service area. For me, it means I have to pay more for energy to offset the costs of you all suffering damage every year... I am subsidizing your risky lifestyle. And it takes longer to get my power back on if we do get some wind, because all the crews were sent south.

So The Villages might get hit hard. I think that is where all those Republicans live that want smaller government and no more handouts...so now I guess they want the government to assist...talk about flip flops, and I ain't talking about the shoes, I am talking about these Villages idiots that want the government when it comes to them but to hell with everyone else that is affected by storms. I say let the Villages residents fend for themselves and give them what they want. Oh one last thing you talk about NOOA and the National Weather Service if Don Trump wins these two agencies are gone...then maybe the residents of The Villages can really suffer.

So I'm curious. It's been many many years since a hurricane hit the mid Atlantic coast. I remember one that was in the fall of 2002. In the Villages, districts 1 and 2 as well as the historic section are allowed to have tsotskies. I don't really have any but my next door neighbor has quite a set up. Hope he secures them. We leave and there's 2 storms that hit. 🫤
