I'm loving the pony stout. It's the ideal size for EDC. A premium version would be dope. I'll settle for a V2 and a nip though in the meantime. Lol

Graphite pencil on the lock faces works well to prevent lock stick.

I have not heard that tip about lock stick so thank you! I'll have to try that on some other knives. I had a bit of lock stick on my pony stout but it worked itself out and is smooth now.

Guess i need to disassemble my blue micarta version, detent way different (and weaker) than my black G10. Do the different materials make any difference? Shouldn’t right cuz the bearings riding on the liners?
Nah they shouldn’t be much different but detents always vary. We asked for snappy detents so if u can fail it easily i would try the cleaning and see if that helps. If not, shoot WMK an email or we can try to tweak for you. Sorry you’re having an issue. My email is kevin@divoknives.com
These came out great! For under 70 bucks it’s a steal. Skiffs do noticeably improve the already great action. Very easy to take apart and reassemble. Great size great ergos snappy as all get out. A total home run. Great work by Colin, Kevin and QSP

Yea you could clean it or let it break in. Could also be the pivot is too tight. If you’re not happy with the closing i would try a cleaning first and see where that gets you. Let us know if you still have an issue.

Hell no😂 Spyderco has the best heat treat at a production level in the game. I put a brand new edge on my s90v para3 the day I got it because I wanted to lower the angle and even on my DMT stones, the s90v took probably 3 times as long to apex the burr as their s30v would regularly take.
Has Spyderco released some knives into the wild that had a subpar heat treat? Of course, just like most companies I'd assume since anomalies do occur, but the difference with Spyderco is they don't target their steels HRC with a cookie cutter range like all the Chinese companies do at 58-60/59-61. They prioritize the specific heat treatments and protocols for all of the steels they use, which for myself is one of the main buying points in purchasing a Spyderco. The customer knows they aren't getting CPM Cruwear with the same heat treatment of their BD1N.
