- How to remove/install outside mirror glass and cover trim for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 all models. This procedure is the same as the mb mechanic use.

These mirrors in the video are power folded. Don’t bend the normal ones as I did in the start, and is not necessary at all. Only did that for better video angle.

I first removed the cover the way kinda all TH-cam video shows, because I also learned from them long ago. But when I did pull it up the catch hook got bit broken you could see it on (0:19) and also it did not feels right to use that amount of force to get the cover off. So I did put it back and searched at MB WIS for the document how the cover should be removed, and this is the way they recommend. Is kinda 50/50 if your lucky you could do this without remove mirror and not brake the catch hook.
There is another hook from the opposite side (below blinker) as far as I remember. Easy yo break as well and needs to be released prior to pulling cover up. Am I right?
According to the document the clip/hook there is not mentioned but I guess as you said it could be good to pry it there also when pulling it up!

Folding back the mirror assy and removing the mirror is not required. The mirror housing can also be removed by (strong fingers/hands) and once removed, disconnect the connector for the turn signal... you can remove the hardware that detaches the turn signal to the housing and replace the housing with CF one.
Yess I usually do it that way but I want to show the correct procedure on video. Many times doing it the fast way the clip in the housing get broken unfortunately.
Do you know if this is the same for the w212 estate as everywhere I look for wing mirror covers for a 2013 e220 estate it says not compatible yet it looks the same to me?
Next time use a bomb to open the box, that's more easier and logical.

Those are nice but I already feel guilty about making a chip tuning appointment. Its such a good car that I have mixed feelings about changing anything that is not factory. But since I won the Mercedes subframe lottery, a complete rebuild of the rear end, all labor, subframe and final alignment provided on warranty and I buy all of the new attachments which are 15% of the total cost, I just can't say no, especially since the tune can be undone and refunded if I don't like it within 30 days. 300 plus 4 and 5 star reviews on Google and nobody talks about undoing their tune. Then there is the 7 year update and the guarantee of remaining within the limits of the twin turbos to not shoot them to oblivion with a radical tune. 12% Hp and 11% torque increase with updated shift points and fine tuned on a dyno. I have been offered 30% gains elsewhere but I really don't know if that is a good idea on a twin turbo diesel. I rarely get on it but once in a while. I'm looking for more pep than flat out acceleration. Maybe I get 0.1 or 0.2 quicker to 100kph? The tune is for next Tuesday, and the suspension is scheduled for April, after the last road saltings.

Also did that first but put it back because I could see the clip got bit broken don’t like to brake anything and definitely not show the wrong way. This cover was on really tight so I prefer now to use the recommended way from mb.
@@MB212 clear:) hmm.. this week I will remove mine for repainting and I will have a look if I have this clip as well... I do not remember him when I removed my covers couple of months ago.
I also used not to disassemble a mirror, since I could never detach plugs of mirror heating. I just was always afraid that I can break cables while pulling them away. They are sitting so tightly
Clear. You're gonna install aftermarket wind deflectors for windows. :) Let's see how it will look like. They're made in PL but are not popular here now

Great video as always, just wondering if these are powered mirrors you can fold in with a button? Seems scary to pull on them when there's electronics. Also, would you happen to know how I can switch the light bulb in the side mirrors?
These are the powered mirrors with button inside. Is not necessary to do it, I only did it for better video angle. Don’t know the exactly step have not done it.
My car had powered mirrors and you go on the menu to activate it so when you lock the car folds in unlocked folds out and the light flashes, hope it helps

Understand you but is all about personal taste. Literally all styling is unnecessary, better to keep the car stock ;)
As for me, I would change just to glossy black, not carbon. It will look great and contrasting with a white car's body.
