    Great job! My neighbor was getting rid of a tiller similar to this one, and even though I don't really have any use for it, since it's a pre China machine, I just couldn't see letting it go to scrap. I plan on getting into it sometime in the next few weeks to see if I can get it going. There is a community resource center that plants a garden every year. If I can get it going I'll see if they'll take it for a donation. wish me luck and thanks for the vid I may need it.

    Thank you! I have an almost identical Craftsman tiller. Same problem, but mine eventually dies. I also appreciate the link provided for the original carb. I'll let everyone know how it does!

    Just wanted to say those old carburetor gaskets versus the new ones the old ones get hard that's why you're replacing it the new one is more flexible so the pump works easier just so you know

    Thanks for posting this video. I inherited the same tiller from my dad. The tiller pulsates like yours. I now know how to solve the problem.

    Hi Dave, your video helped me much. I have a simmilar motor and an identical caburetor on my lawn scarifier. I changed the diaphragm on mine too but did not take any pictures. I thought I would remember, but I couldn't. Hence I had great problems in figuring out the placement of the small parts and the overall linkage. But I got it working now.
    However: I have one question. Maybe you can help me out or you have an idea.
    My device also has the throttle on the handle bar, connected with a pull-wire. Exacty like yours.
    For some reason, after reassembly, the throttle handle can not be operated fully. It works basically. I can run it and shut it off, but the throttle lever is unable to hit it's end stop, because the linkage is already at some end stop at the motor / carburetor itself. Maybe I connected it to the wrong hole on the metal part.

      Thanks for your comments. I'm really not sure what to tell you about your throttle cable. It does sound maybe it is in the wrong anchor hole. Good luck!

      Thank you so much I am thrilled to say that I went through your instructions carefully took many many pictures and video which helped incredibly would not have gotten it back together without that! It started it ran I let it run for like 10 minutes shut it off went to bed then about 12 hours later I tried starting in again and now it won't start? Any thoughts?

      @@debbysgig I have since sold mine.... But to guess it sounds like it needs primed. If all else fails, a shot of starting fluid should get you running... Good luck!

    Since the replacement diaphragm are thinner can you double them up to make them stronger or will that make them too thick

    • @repairsrule
      @repairsrule  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That may be worth a try. I just would not want to tear it back apart if it didn't work!

      Ok might give it try that is where I am at with the repair waiting on diaphragms thanks.

    Hello I have the same tiller, problem is no gas is coming up to the choke if I remove the filter spray quick start in the choke then try and start it tiller will run for a few seconds then die off. What does it sound like the problem could be? Thank You

    • @repairsrule
      @repairsrule  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it runs (for a few seconds) with starting fluid, you need to focus on fuel supply. That means getting gas from the tank to the carb first. Check for any blockage in the fuel line first. If no blockage, it has to be fuel pump (diaphragm) is not creating the pressure needed to pull the fuel through the fuel line. I pick this up in the video here: th-cam.com/video/1emKFQ8qrcQ/w-d-xo.html Good luck!

      @@repairsrule Since I had not use the tiller in years and left gasoline in it the fuel tank was very dirty a lot of brown flakes had build up inside the fuel tank I remove it clean it out will order the carburetor. I went to a repair shop prior and they wanted 200.00 to get it going that's to much being on a fix income I figure since I have some time give it a try myself. Thank You

    • @repairsrule
      @repairsrule  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! If you have your tank clean and install a new carb, you can get it running. Be sure to take pictures of the linkage... You can do this!

    I had to clean the gas tank out, they dont make them anymore. Put everything back together and now it starts and stalls. Any suggestions other than taking it to a professional

    • @repairsrule
      @repairsrule  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, that's not good... I would say to go through the basics on an internal combustion engine. You need compression, timing, fuel delivery and spark. From your statement about running and stalling, I suspect that it is in the fuel delivery. Good luck! Thanks for the comment!

    AllWAYS try to clean the oem carb first. Yes china carbs are cheap but they just never run right and you have to drill out the jets
