Nice to see some London content from Veitch-perspective. I'm from and live in Glasgow, however, I have friends in and have visited London often. The city has a special place in my heart. The first ever pub I visited was th Shakespeare's Head just off Carnaby Street age 17 in January 2006 (pint of IPA) - To this day every time I'm down I pay a visit there for nostalgia sake.

I live in Fulham,central London and haven`t seen one for at least 6 YEARS!!....Plenty flying by in cars and overhead in choppers though..They have totally lost the plot on what a good police force should be doing...They`re more interested in spending their time (and our money) on sucking-up to every ethnic & sexual minority they can lay their hands on.
Probably a sweeping generalisation, many Chinese restaurateurs and in fact many Chinese love to gamble, so if meals are paid for in cash it makes it harder for HMR&C to take their slice and leaves more for the casino, simples.
Another generalisation though not aimed at this place specifically - you can't pay staff from cash on the books if they're either illegal 'guests' or claiming every benefit under the sun whilst working.

Did a 7 year stint as a guest tech presenter on a well known shopping channel a while back. The studios were based on Queenstown road, Battersea, and I often took a stroll, or even a cab, to see the sights. What a dump 🤣 I'll not be going back to London for all the tea in China but it's great to see you putting in the foot work on this one Charlie. The place has changed... looks a lot tidier now, but my old stomping ground is unrecognisable... it's all luxury flats by the looks of it; what a shame.
