My favourite memories as a child was waking up really early Xmas morning and stretching my toes to see if there was a rustle at the end of the bed, mum used to cut pantyhose and stuff the leg with fruit, little toys, nuts, lollies, chocolates etc. It was amazing. those memories were so special. I always love the music you use in your video's Ellen, it's very peaceful. I've used the SoundHound app a couple times to find out what the song was and have found some really nice playlists on Spotify, so thank you for the inspiration! My favourite is Western Call by Cody Francis, can't remember which of your videos I got it from but it is so nice, perfect for background music while creating.
We also got ribbon candy & an orange as well as peanuts in our stockings. My kids and husband love the chocolate oranges and my daughter loves the orange sticks so that is what we always put in their stockings as well as an orange. It’s getting harder to find the ribbon candy now. Which is sad. All the great things are disappearing!

Love how your soap turned out 😍. I just made a layered soap myself. Admittedly, I’m still too timid to make mini batches of lye and oils. Am I correct that you use a gram scale to make sure the lye solution is perfectly and exactly split? You’d measure as an example: 35.6grams of lye solution, if your total solution was 178g and you wanted 5 layers. I always follow the round up the water to the nearest whole number and round down for the lye when I make my lye solution, but once the solution is made, I would be afraid to round any numbers for fear of making any layers lye heavy. Right now, I blend to emulsion and then split, color and add FO. I was pretty successful, but would love super crisp lines. Maybe one day I’ll try it 🙃😂
I make my full recipe of oils and lye solution, then split those into equal parts. If I'm using a super slow moving fragrance, I'll just blend to emulsion then split.
@@EllenRuthSoap Yes, that’s what I currently do 😉, but I was curious how you measure the fractional part of the number when you split the lye solution and oils? Depending on the size of the recipe, the numbers don’t always divide out into whole numbers. I do have a small gram scale so I could always use a pipette for the fractional part of the number.
Ellen, would you mind telling me what size your donut bath bomb molds are, I am yo-yoing between 2.5” and 3.0”…..just love your channel, learnt so much ❤
May I please ask how your red stays red? Im not sure what I'm doing wrong? It doesn't matter what I use? Is it the overnight phase? Gel phase?? Idk. But thank you, I watch your videos every night!! I use the crafters choice brand, mica.
So simple yet elegant. Absolutely beautiful! I hate candy canes. I put them on my tree and I like candy canes that do not taste like peppermint. I hate the taste of anything peppermint, spirmint and winter green. Even my tooth paste n mouth wash isn’t peppermint I get the cinnamon. I know I’m weird. I love the smell of it but to eat it it makes me sick to my stomach.

I have a 3" and a small 2" that I use for the extras..
So, for piping the top, is it the same soap recipe and you just let it set more time until it gets a little bit more firm? Thanks

Matte Americana red from WSP, and Trial by Fire from Nurture Soap are the best reds I've found.
