The milage of the locomotive is calculated not as kilometers per liter but as liters per minute. Usually the tank capacity is not more than 1000 litres. Just imagine how they guzzle the fuel even if it is not running. Sometimes the locomotive is put in idle mode atleast 30 minutes prior to departure of the train

Jitna piti hae use zayda deti hae. Agar 6400l 22 truck me dalso. Tofir iska half load bhi nehi le ja payga. Agar sabhi truck ka payload 16ton man lete hu toh fir sirf 350ton tak hi le payga joki 2 3din dibo ki payload har train ka. Agar bus se compare kare toh karib 800 passenger bus me a jaynge lekin iske half km travel kar payga equal quantity diesel me. Our pollution bhi kai guna zayda hoga. Isliye ships and trains are the most efficient and least polluting way of transport.
ट्रेन का लोको wdg4 खासकर 4 से 6 लीटर प्रति किलोमीटर डीजल की खपत कर्ता है अगर लोड बहुत ज्यादा हो या घाट सेक्शन हो तो और ज्यादा 8 लीटर प्रति किलोमिटर भी एक डीजल इंजन पी जाता है 😅😅
हम mileage गाड़ी km/ltr देखते है पर wdg4 के लिए वो उल्टा है ltr/km 😆
