- Footplate the Alco WDM3D diesel locomotive, enjoy the complete experience in diesel loco with full process of proceeding the loco from 0 to 110kmph (which is the section maximum permitted speed), thereafter if the loco overspeed the loco pilot pull down the throttle to adjust the speed.

Yeah its a very tough job to be a Locomotive Pilot. My uncle is a Locomotive pilot and it needs a 110% concentration during their duty. Coz thousands of lives, hundreds of crores of property and prestige of Indian Railway are in their hands. Loco Pilots are real Heroes.
Unki job hai woh aur job ka matlab hi hard hota hai aur agar inka kaam itna hi hard lagta hai toh ek baar gangman ka kaam dekh lena 6-7 km roj chalte hain track pe bhale hi raat kyon na ho ye toh engine ke andar rehte hain toh itna koi bada kaam nhi hai they are getting paid for it for sitting in that hot engine. Aur agar itna hi dikkat hai toh kabhi army wale ki duty deoh lena pata chal jayega

Ek LP ne apna experience share kiya tha...unko bhi bohot kathinai jhelni padi thi.. Par phir bhi unhone akhir Mai yahi kaha ki itni kathinai hone k bavajud bhi unko iss job se pyar hai🙂. ... .

Back in the 80s we DME pass-outs had only one job that was the most coveted to us. To be a loco pilot in those YDM engines. Many of my friends are now loco pilots.

I have over 35 years as a locomotive engineer in the US. Many of those years with the superior ALCo locomotives. My question I would like to ask of my Indian Railway brothers is could you explain the significance of the green flag out the window? Is it acknowledgement of a highball or clear signal indication?

@@babayaga2977 I'm also Freshman in University of South Florida. In 2022, I came to US.
It has different aspects according to the situation.
If shown to a points man at the station, it means that the signal is clear and there are no issues from your side driving the train.
If shown to a train which you are crossing, it means the line on which you came is free of any obstacles ( as the train is going to run on the same track after you cross it).
If your train is standing and you show green flag to an overtaking/crossing train, it means that there are no issues visible in the train as it passes you and you are seeing it.
If you see any issues ( a jammed wheel/burning axle etc) you immediately show red flag which is held in the dominant hand(right) and the train manager at the end acknowledges that you've spotted an emergency and communicates to the LP on wireless and brings the train to stop.

It's not possible brakes are applied in steps in order to avoid brake binding.

Ну в принципе все понятно,слева крайний кран вспомогательного тормоза,рядом кран машиниста.Правее контроллер,имеет режим набора позиций и электродинамическое торможение,реверсивная рукоятка.Скоростемер а скорее всего что то типа нашего КПД.
