      @@MotorAddicts omg really? i'm amazed honestly as their so easy to live with, drive fast and tune!, I think thats because its all done if you get what I mean, like as in it feels race car inside and outside as the works been done well, I think you'd get that with the majority of cars that are modded well tbh, either that or he finds them too safe haha, you guys are so used to driving stuff that'd kill you with one fuck up, no airbags or ones that'll squash up to nothing hitting something with any speed, i think for people like you guys who have been in the game long you need something that'll scare you and keep you on edge then, I only said golf r as he said a daily driver and can be driven fast as I find it perfect! maybe get some old school fast Maserati!

      @@VdubK Didn't build the car purely for straight line speed - That's the part of a MK7R say stage 2 onward where the car could out perform the TT.
      But all of it is completely irrelevant. Reason the car got built is because I wanted it - not for anyone else

    • @VdubK
      @VdubK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Barr_end just purely for the cheaper power overall + newer engine, the R is known to handle like its on rails so less mods needed handling wise from scratch. Dont take it as an insult, I love TT's, I think their a great looking car and platform and less common than something like a Golf, as I say I think you done a fantastic job and the car looks awesome, I nearly put a ton into my mk5 gti, it was stage 2+ 280hp, to go further on my engine as it was an AXX variant, it needed to be forged ideally, with that comes a ton of money, then I'd need a bigger turbo, haldex system, etc etc and it all added up to like £13k excluding the 6k id already put in buying and getting it mapped.
      Thats why I suggest the mk7 as its easier out the box and cheaper, I bet if you added up what you've spent you have spent a LOT, especially looking at that mod list, mind you, you never get your money back anyway, thats why I say if you've spent that already, run it until its dead as its not worth selling once you reach a certain point!
      Oh and thanks for the insight during the vid with the 4 pots, I was undecided whether I should upgrade or not, seems I should!

    • @Barr_end
      @Barr_end 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VdubK I don't think what I'm trying to sat relays easy across message/test on the internet. I am really not offended or bothered.
      When you factor in when I bought this car over 5 years ago - it's purchase price VS what would of been basically brand new golf R - the differential of what you're saying and my complete build wouldn't be that different. But the initial purchase price & list of unique mods would be.
      MQB platform need just as much chassis modification as the MQ35 platform to extract top level performance, but in theory with same modification on both the MQB SHOULD have a slight advantage.
      This still all roll back onto the fact I wouldn't want a MK7R - have driven a few and they aren't for me.
      I like and built this car the exact way I have it envisioned - the cost of it doesn't bother me as it's my passion and I enjoy every minute working on it myself building it, to make it unique and my own, almost as much as fun behind the wheel

      It's hard to put just a simple figure for this question - due to so many variables if I'm honest...
      - Are you DSG or manual? One should only require a map, the other needs a complete clutch to handle the torque
      - Are you wanting all the hardware parts to be brand new? Some parts can be sourced second hand as it wouldn't matter if they are pre-used
      - Are you wanting to do it as cheaply as possible? There's alot of preventative maintenance that is only advisable - I have completed all of these on my car, but some people do them all, some or none of them at all.
      - Are you willing to spend extra money on hardware? Some brands / items of hardware will be more than a comparable but priced so because of their capable performance
      Also worth noting, not all KO4 CLD/EA113 TFSI's will make 380hp on the stock turbo/engine.
      Down to the healthiness of the motor, the wear / holding capability of the wastegates actuator.
      Rtech will only quote a range due to those variables & the possible variation in chosen hardware
      TFSI Tuning page on facebook is an ideal place with plenty of knowledge documented that's searchable
      Plus Rtech performances own page and this helpful link - r-techperformance.co.uk/2-0-tfsi-tuning/
