    On my 2005 3500 dually 4x4, Just took off turbo and manifold and had exact same issue, had to grind wrench to get it on the nut. My exhaust manifold had shrunk a lot, the bolts were binding all the way to the end, every bolt but the last 2. Ground the bolt holes over about 2 -3 mm.
    A tiny bit of play is normal in the compressor wheel, I took turbo apart and measured old and new bearings, and absolutely no wear. I thought maybe bearings were worn, so really did not need to do anything, there was some carbony sludge in the seal ring of the turbine. So used a rebuild kit and a stepped gap turbine seal ring. Still waiting on a 16 inch extra large snap ring plier to put turbo back together.

    Great video man! Exactly right on the two ports in the manifold, the second one would be used to measure drive pressure between the cylinder head and turbo. Most of the time drive pressure will be higher than boost. High drive pressure most generally comes with high egt's.

    Steed makes great stuff, and innovative for whatever they're into at the time. Many years ago when I ran around in imports, Steed was one of the few that had turbo mani's for the KA Nissan engines and a really cool inline BOV.

    Question - With using the Fleece studs, do you have to remove the bottom studs for ALL exhaust manifolds to install properly? I have an AFE SS Blade Runner with install issues. Maybe, I need to remove the downpipe Elbow to get them to install? My downpipe elbow is still connected to the downpipe. Thx

    • @timspire3142
      @timspire3142 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are great. They also need a ball valve to shut off or restrict flow during the winter. Impossible to build heat in the engine, thus triggering a thermostat rationality code and check engine light. Letting it warm up with the exhaust brake on can prevent that. However, when it is 25-to30 Fahrenheit out, the coolant temp will drop into the 130's or 140's once you start driving. This results in the inability to maintain heat in the truck cab.
