Russian/Soviet control over Eastern Europe (1945-1991) was a bizarre anomaly. It is NOT, as Putin mistakenly believes, the natural order of things. Russia could NOT have occupied all of Eastern Europe except that the West was exhausted from WWII and did not go after Stalin and the USSR for war crimes during WWII as one of the instigators of WWII (Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact). Stalin actually caused more deaths than Hitler! Stalin expected to have to barter for control of portions of Europe, and as an experienced barterer asked for way more of Europe than he expected to get at the end of WWII, and to his surprise, and the shame of the West, US and UK agreed to his initial bid without challenge!
The Cold War froze the lines way longer than natural, and it was only a matter of time before Eastern Europe threw off the shackles of Soviet/Russian rule; and with the illusion of super-power shattered, Russia itself had a revolution and changed from the USSR to the Russian Federation.
Today Poland could defeat Russia by itself in a conventional war.
Nukes are an end-of-existence last resort for Russia. Better used as a bargaining chip than actually used.

The RAFs mass bombing campaign was opened up at Stalin's behest to Churchill to take pressure off the Russian front. Thousands of guns and men plus the resources had to be held back to protect Berlin and other German centers.. Harris was the man who made it happen. It cost 10,000 RAF crew lives to rescue Stalins Russia plus the lives of the other allies. There was also the countless sailors that shipped aircraft equipment and vehicles into Archangel via the Artic convoys. And try telling the Seamen awarded the Artic Star what they didn't do.
One final point Churchill was a very ill man who had a heart condition and even had heart attacks .. but at the final Yelta meeting he had to rest ... That left the US president who was no fan of Britain's Empire basically came to a two party agreement... Churchill didn't trust Stalin one bit.
One final point - when the rest of Europe was rebuilt under the Marshal plan GB. was also stuck with WW2 lease lend repayments that were only paid off this century.

That's because Roosevelt was weak and sick at that stage so easily taken advantage of by Stalin. Also the Americans were looking for russian support in the war against Japan so Stalin got way more than was justified, the Americans were trying to save their soldiers for the war in the Pacific

@@clivestainlesssteelwomble7665 FYI the WWII RAF Bomber Command's official 'aircrew' KIA losses were just over 57,000 (not '10,000'). And as what I think is a more-important 'nope' correction for you...
When Churchill became PM, Stalin was Hitler's ally. His 'resource-allocation' decisions before June 1941 were what meant that RAF Bomber Command (with all the Allied/Commonwealth units that were joined to it) became the 'nuclear-equivalent' strategic weapon it was in 1944/45. At a guess you've read that the bombing of Dresden in 1945 was related to Stalin asking for Allied assistance (which is true), and have mistakenly extrapolated backwards from that.
Just in case you don't know, the USAAF's B-17s also hit that city as the daylight-raid, sandwich-filler between the RAF's attacks 13-15th February 1945.
All the best to you. Always nice to see that someone-else also likes 'doing History' 🙂

NATO is a treaty. It has been approved by the US Senate by more than the supermajority required for its approval.
Therefore no one man or woman can unilaterally withdraw us from the alliance. We have a president, not a king.
Researching the treaty however, did reveal one thing at its inception. In order to avoid "foreign entanglements" the actual wording of article 5 is designed to make participation in a conflict up to each individual state. Therefore when he says he won't DO anything for Europe, believe him.

No laws, no consitution, no treaties will matter. If you disagree with Trump you will be arrested or thrown out a high window. Many careers will be ended and loyalty trumps all qualifications. That Ukraine has performed beyond all expectations only makes sense to me based on one thing: They rightly see Russia as a mortal threat. And if you need some chills along your spine to get you going right now, consider this: If they were seen as such a mortal threat in the beginning of the war, what are they going to be like if they manage to take over? After they've been getting the crap kicked out of them for three or four years, if they end up prevailing, how are they going to behave then? This cannot be allowed to happen. The US electorate, most of all, needs to wake the hell up. The Europeans, less so, as they're closer to the action and presumably have fewer illusions.

1812 won over Napoleon, the only reason Russia won was winter and Napoleon's arrogance assumed the war would end before winter, so the war was won by the forces of nature, not the tsar's armed forces
1939 a battle victory for Finland, Finland literally fought against more than a tenfold superiority alone without the support of foreign countries, and despite that you did not accomplish anything in the war, even the territories Finland lost only in the peace treaty and not by combat operations, on the contrary, the Red Army was considered one of the strongest armies in the world and the result of the war was 126,875 casualties, Losses in Finland 25,904, lol once again mass tactics because you don't know anything else, and despite that you didn't even get territories with combat actions, but the result of a peace agreement, because we didn't get help from foreign countries like Ukraine now, so we had to agree to completely ridiculous conditions the purpose of the war was to conquer all of Finland and subjugate Finland to the Soviet Union, this did not happen but Finland was factually the only country in World War II that the Red Army attacked but could not conquer and Finland maintained its independence,
1945 won over Germany, and the only reason for the victory was the Western invasion and the US land lease program, without which you would have lost the war already in 1941
1946 won over Japan, took back the Kuril islands, so you won Japan, which the USA had already rendered incapable of combat
2001 Chechnya the only reason you won the bloody battle was mass superiority again
2008 Georia, same explanation as in Tsetsenian war
management conclusion, you have not actually won a single war with your own sea tactics, but the only reason for these "victories" has been "mass superiority, as well as the support of other states and simultaneous military actions.. So you haven't won anything, ever the forces of nature have done it for you sometimes, sometimes the actions of the allies have done it, and sometimes just the fact that your mass has brought the other war party to the brink of bankruptcy only and only because you have material and man superiority, equal you cowards don't even dare to go to war against a strong opponent, and even from smaller countries you usually get a bloody nose.. a three-day special operation now going on day number 842.. But in contrast to Finland in the winter war, this time your opponent gets support and Russia literally has not reached even one of your self-declared goals implemented, you haven't even gained control of those oblasts that you already illegally annexed to yourself-. ... So little dear Igor, go to the vodka store Learn historical facts and get used to the fact that in a few months even toilet paper will be worth more than rubles
the whole so-called Russian military success is nothing but self-praise and taking credit for the actions of others and the use of mass superiority and glorified bullshit, well luckily this war is the last because the whole bankrupt country will collapse every single weapon system of yours has been revealed as a mere bs paper tiger, the s-400 systems are literally incapable of countering missiles containing technology from the 70s like older ATACMS.. Your hypersonic missiles which were supposed to be impossible to counter have been countered by the patriot pac1 missile as well. LOL and LOL

When people finally realise they all have an Internal Power within that isn’t dictated to out of fear and control from others, they can use their own power to walk in their own inner strength and find their own inner peace that doesn’t want Wars, Evil, Corrupted Dictators or Greed to run your nations. The likes of putin and trump show us we clearly don’t want these greedy and very corrupted bullies to ever be the voices for nations, they are lost to their darkness that belong to the past, putin and his criminal gang are dragging the Russian nation/people down a very dark path that will take centuries to recover if ever!!! You cannot lump 330M people together and claim they support any political party or leader. There are bitter divisions in the USA and even within the Republican Party.
And, sadly, the average US citizen is very poorly educated about anything beyond their own borders. I believe the statistic is that fewer than half even have a passport. The USA is the only superpower and the centre of modern culture. Their population is generally disinterested - compared to other modern democracies - in events happening beyond their own borders.

It's truly perplexing to see a faction of MAGA Republicans, many of whom lived through the Cold War, now showing support for Russia and opposing Ukraine. During the Cold War, Russia represented ideologies and governance that starkly contrasted with American values. This shift in perspective seems to align more with support for authoritarian figures rather than democratic principles.
Jake, your video sheds light on this puzzling phenomenon. It raises critical questions about how and why these individuals have gravitated towards supporting dictatorships, seemingly abandoning the democratic ideals that the U.S. stands for. This change in allegiance is concerning and warrants deeper reflection on the influences and motivations behind it.

Tragically, US politics is global geopolitics... the tragedy is that puts the fate of people all over the world in the hands of corrupt US politicians elected by a largely uninterested small pool of America citizen voters who have been chosen by the very politicians running for office. Yes there are pockets of absolute brilliance in the USA, but the system was designed in the 18th century to dodge real democracy and give too much power to slave-holders (who don't have slaves anymore, but the same group of wealthy white men continue to have way more power than their voting base and demographic would legitimately give them).
Jake is absolutely correct though, Trump will, as a VATNIK do what Putin wants; and it does not matter, Ukraine will still defeat Russia regardless of who wins the US election. It is just a matter of time; quicker if a Russian agent does not win, slower if a Russian agent does win.
Russia's victories have to include manipulating US and UK elections via misinformation and social media (Brexit, 2016 US election). Since 2014 Russia has been waging a soft war on the West very effectively and we are only catching on now.
Russia's losses are about to include the 2014 and now 2022 invasions of Ukraine, as they are about to run out of tanks, armored vehicles, air craft (through maintenance failures as much as being shot down), and their economy is about to collapse.

You literally ignored the fact the system was designed to adapt to the times, the constitution is allowed to be amended. The original system no longer exist, you don't have to be a landowning man to vote. Americans currently do not care enough to change the electoral system and benefits of the current electoral system where states retain a good deal of power under a federated system outweighs the negatives. You obviously have an agenda and is blinded by it.
