My grandma is also kapampangan. I was lucky to have her in the US with my family for a few years, with my Lolo. It was when I was 5 and my parents were having additional kids so they helped raise me. I remember my grandpa driving me to school sometimes so I didn’t have to walk in the cold. They eventually went back and when I went to the Philippines, I couldn’t wait to see them. I cried because I missed them so much. Lola’s are the best.
