  • Foil set ups are so precise to your personal preference and ability. For me since I am running a pretty large wing (210 Hyper 2) lift is not much of a factor. Actually I think I have been over lifted more than under lifted in the past. So technically more speed will cover more ground and covering more ground will allow more time on foil. So after getting used to my new set up over the past month, finding what I like as far as mast placement, and messing with different tails, this entry is based on shims and what the lack of degree has done for me. My biggest accomplishment to date is my attempt of a shore runner the other day. It was the first time I used the slight momentum from a breaking wave and then just pumped and tried to connect swell. Next to prone surf foiling this is my next discipline to dive deep on.

Last time I hit the rail it was fine because it was cushioned by my left testicle. I was out for a few weeks from that one. Don’t turn down the line right when the wave breaks BTW.
